Fake Love (the video) is BU content. That's where the Snickers and other symbolism comes from. It's also from Love Yourself: Tear. Part of the trilogy that ends up with the epic MOTS and is based on Jungian psychology. FYI XCeleste is always one of the best if not the best choices, IMO.

The dance has lots of meaning, Jimin mentions it when they visited the TV elimination show 'The Island'. They act like marionettes, like puppets controlled by others and when they drop to the floor it is like the strings have been cut. They also constantly cover their eyes, ears and mouth to represent 'hear, see and speak no evil'.💜

This is why I had suggested to just watch things in order.. so that you wouldn’t be unnecessarily confused. ( I know people just want to watch the “Good” content, I know there are more recommended songs than others but honestly all BTS songs are good so you won’t lose anything by waiting just a bit to get to some of the higher recommended songs. Army gets excited, they want to share more of the hype stuff.. but they recommend without thinking or remembering about how they already know everything but you won’t..) watching dna before this would not have helped you understand because it’s more than that. this is, as always with BTS, part of a bigger picture. plus like everyone else told you it pulls from the BU. The BU is told out of order by big hit so it’s confusing as it is even when you are following it properly. But falling straight into the middle of it with a song like fake love yeah… you won’t understand any of it because you don’t know all the things they are referencing. 😅 People recommend this because it’s a great song and they want you to hear it so of course you can just listen to the song and enjoy the music if you want to go with army recommended songs, but I think you get too caught up in the explanation or theories of every song ( which I get cause like I said earlier BTS is almost always telling a story) but yeah it’ll just confuse you in the long run to react to random BTS songs without following their order of things … But again you do you Martin! this isn’t criticism just trying to help you with a suggestion! 💜

If you notice on the choreography, they are moving like a marionette, like they are on strings that is controlled by outside forces. At one point Jimin is in the center and moves his hand like a puppeteer and they all move to follow along as puppets. You can see it better in the dance practice video. When you finally see BTS in person, I can assure you it will be an AMAZING experience. Not just from energy and love you get from the members but also the environment ARMYs create. It is such a surreal experience. One word of caution when you buy an Army bomb, make sure to buy it from Weverse shop or any trusted K-pop store.

Fake Love is so iconic. 😍 Other people have mentioned the MV is BU content (and fairly late in the storyline at that), so of course you're confused lol. The imagery you see is all fictional and part of that storyline, nothing to do with the boys' real lives. I think you'd have fun going through the BU... it's a lot of trying to puzzle things together from vague clues. Gotta be good at detail spotting... which you are! And yes, the choreo for this song absolutely tells a story. They repeatedly cover their eyes, ears, and mouths... see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Also, the way they move is intended to look like marionettes on strings. They jerk around, and they occasionally all fall to the ground (i.e. the strings being cut/dropped) before they pop back up to dance some more. And of course they sort of act out some of the lyrics too. It's so cool. I think you picked the worst livestage of this song to watch though. The camera focuses more on the audience than the performance, I hate it so much 🤣

5:47 loved your interpretation of it and it's actually the truth since the members said it themselves in the book "beyond the story" that was released last year!! They said that even tho they felt tired and depressed yet they still kept that happy positive image in front of their fans to not worry or disappoint? them. And that's what they meant by the "fake love" Like showing only your positive side and never the ugly/sad/depressed side of yourself to your loved ones!! Which will in the end torment you or make you feel guilty about it.

Aah yea you wont completely understand the Mv without first watching past ‘BU’ content (bts universe). Its a whole complex storyline (fictional!) that bts created… and when I say complicated I mean COMPLICATED. A lot of army haven't delved all that deep into the storyline - which is completely fine. The BU is covered by Mvs, highlight reels, a webtoon, and some books/notes. Recently its been made into a kdrama! But the kdrama doesn't even cover the most pivotal part of the story lmao. It just covered the prologue~ I suggest going through Bts’ discography in chronological order, as a lot of their songs/mvs reference their past work 💜

Yay! You watched 1 of the MV that relates to the BU (Bangtan Universe) that is a fictional storyline of each of the members. It gets very complex so you can decide if you wish to dive into it with Wings shorts, Love Yourself, but there are also notebooks, webtoon, other MV references. The fire where Suga was sitting is real. So was JK running as the floor was falling behind him and Jimin with the water. I agree with the beautiful shots. As ARMY, I don’t like spoilers for reactors unless they ask. There will be 1 MV that, if you watch h long version, it may shock you. Magic Shop is another MV I like that even though you didn’t know this was a song from the BU, they do also tell a message. Your interpretation is good! That’s what’s great with BTS. They don’t force you to follow their interpretations. Many ARMY just know this is from Bangtan Universe. If you do decide to watch more, then I’d recommend not watching explanation videos until you’ve seen more, and then Xceleste has a long detailed explanation. It made me laugh when you talked about crying when seeing BTS in person. I saw them night 1 in Vegas. About 5 minutes before the concert was to start the emotions hit me that I was 5 minutes away from seeing them and I started crying.......then the concert start was delayed by 40 minutes because of a malfunction on the big screen lololol. BTS NEVER start their concerts late, I'm sure it was killing them backstage.

Nurse Martin, you said you feel like you should have watched DNA before Fake Love since it was mentioned in the theory video. But, honestly, the issue is that you're watching a MV directly related to the BU. This is the only recommendation that I would give, unless you are ready to jump into the BU, it's better to watch either dance practices or lyric videos of those songs. I don't have it but I'm sure if you ask, an ARMY will send you the list of BU-related MVs so that you don't accidentally spoil your reaction to the BU while also travelling through BTS' discography. It appears that you enjoy analyzing the images that you see in the MVs so analyzing a BU-related MV will confuse you if you don't watch it in the context and order of the BU storyline. I just goggled (what? *gOOgled) "BU storyline MVs" and it took me to the US BTS ARMY Bangtan Universe guide which has a list of the BU-related songs and videos; spoilers too so just scroll until you see the list if you don't want spoilers (DO NOT READ THE SUMMARY). So if a MV is suggested to you by YT and it's on that BU list, then choose to either listen to a lyric video so that you hear the song or commit to going down the BU rabbit hole! I think you would enjoy watching the storyline but if you don't want spoilers, remind ARMY in your description and at the beginning of the video not to give them ... and even then, I wouldn't read the comments cuz some people are not as sensitive about spoilers as others. But if you don't mind spoilers ... have at it; don't give any instructions and an ARMY will give you a whole summary. It's up to you obviously, it's your channel. FUN FACT: 8:13 the new bts logo is actually a door-inspired logo. in 2017, they introduced a new door-styled logo for BTS and ARMY, and expanded their name to Beyond The Scene symbolizing youth who don’t settle for their current reality and instead open the door and go forward to achieve growth.

NO NO, Fake love is Bangtan Universe, from the story. I think there are a few versions of the explanation of the BU story. BUt you are way off on this explanation, and by 2018 it was over. it was 2017 that was the super rough year . Jin talked about it because it was over, they were past it and stayed together. Fake love is about many different kinds of love .

BTS has a fictional alternative universe named the BU, this is one of the videos that are part of the story. Basically here you can see the traumas of each character: ****SPOILER ALERT**** J-hope one is that he was abandoned by her mom in an amusement park and he was left with just a snickers bar, so that's his trauma. Suga's house burned down in a fire with his mom inside, so fire is his trauma. And Jimin's trauma is water because he witnessed a murder on a rainy day in a forest when he was a child in the story

It CAN just be about romantic love, if that's what you understand it to be about. This particular song, though, unfortunately is about the disillusionment that can sometimes occur in any relationship. Although the MV shows alot of BU references, the song itself could be about a one-sided platonic friendship or a romantic relationship where one side wants more and the other stays superficial but manipulates to maintain the "benefits". But BTS creates music that could apply to a number of different perspectives, right? It's one of the things they do best and why, I think, so many people can relate to their songs.

@@_LVLUP_ I think it’s both. It is a part of the love yourself trilogy which talked about romantic love and then the 2nd part is about breakdown of that love and Fake Love is the title track. But of course you didn’t know that because the song is taken out of album context. But you DID know about the difficulties happening during that time and used that to understand the song. Since BTS’ songs usually have multiple meanings- the universal/relatable meaning along with a more personal meaning, I think you are partially right. For example we do know that the last song on this album, Outro tear is written to be about a breakup but is also about BTS thinking of disbanding. So while I don’t think that the whole song’s main focus was a fake love towards ARMY, I do think the concept of faking yourself for a relationship can connect with their difficulties dealing with fame and burnout especially since this issue of finding your true self comes up again during the map of the soul era. At least, that's my opinion and I don't think there's anything wrong with coming up with your own interpretation. I loved your reation!

@@_LVLUP_ You didn't say anything wrong and neither did the author of the original comment. (You know how I get after you about calling yourself slow; I get what you mean but I also know how difficult the NCLEX is to pass as well.) Trust me, it takes quite a few listens and at least one theory video, sometimes two, to fully understand some of BTS' lyrics. Like the other commenter said, their songs can be interpreted on a few different levels. Unless you get the meaning directly from Our7"s mouths (and they, as individuals, might have differing interpretations too), then it's all interpretation and I believe that BTS doesn't mind specifically how you perceive it as long as you come to the overarching conclusion to work hard, be careful when judging others' difficulties, build up don't tear down, be honest and learn to love yourself with all your inconsistencies, wins/losses, mistakes from yesterday, triumphs of tomorrow, and everything in between. Even this, as an "overarching conclusion" to BTS' message, is my current understanding which you may interpret differently. BTS is all love, positivity, and unity (an even broader interpretation). Interpret away according to your understanding!
