Namjoon at first wrote it as " i need you friend " but later changed it to "I need you girl " for marketing purposes i guess. So basically this song tells how much they need each member and it's their first hit. You should definitely check live versions too❤

"I Need U" introduces the characters and their struggles. Each member faces personal challenges, such as depression, isolation, and family issues. "Run" continues the narrative, showing the friends' bond and their carefree moments together. However, the friends face tragic events, including accidents and deaths. Time appears to be fluid, as scenes shift between reality and dream-like states. Jin is a time-traveler. He witnessed death of his friends many times, and he always goes back and attempts to prevent tragic outcomes his friends face. Also it is necessary for you to watch "BTS on stage: prologue". You will notice that Jin always taking pictures of others. That is because he tries to remember what has gone wrong, what he should change next time to prevent the death of someone. You will notice that the song("Butterfly") there starts over and over again - that means he jumped into the past again.

Well… she already watched Film Out (in a different video) and figured out that Jin is a time traveler. Then after watching I Need U she realized that Jin’s role is to save the others. @@einigoo That IS a spoiler! The entire POINT of getting into the BU is to figure it out yourself based on those story lines. That's the FUN of getting into the BU in the first place! If you watch, in order, along with reading the extra notes and such, it's easy to figure out. You pretty much gave her the entire story, minus what each member's backstory is. I really, REALLY, hope she didn't see this. :( But I guess it's too late now. Rule #1 of ARMY: DON'T spoil the BU! Rule #2 of ARMY: ONLY answer what is asked - as shortly as possible, with NO extra info. - WHEN/IF it is asked.

The melody you heard and liked in the beginning of Run and the song at the end with the credits is called Butterfly. You didn’t notice but it’s takes time to know the songs and symbolism but there is a scene in the video where RM picks up a card and has a butterfly on it. Also Jin built a house of cards. Jin is the main character in BU. You are right when you said that they were all friends but didn’t know the struggles each of them were going through. Jin is trying to figure out what is going on. He is not an alien but a son of a rich family. I believe XCelest did an explanation video of BU. I watched it sometime ago and loved it because then I understood the concept of this era.

Other than the other MVs and short films others told you about, there's also Blood, Sweat & Tears JPN version, the MV references the storyline as well. There's also an official book available in english, japanese and korean, it has 2 volumes from what I can remember (I only have the first one). I fully recommend getting it if you're able cause it's so good. There's also a webtoon, I fully recommend that one too. Oh btw, Butterfly Prologue Mix doesn't have the full song so if you want to hear it properly I fully recommend watching a live performance cause it has such a beautiful choreo.

Hiiii, thank you for the reaction 💜 I still didn’t watch the video, I’ll do it rn but i just wanted to clarify that if you wanna know the whole storyline, it can’t be completed just from the mv’s, it’s a lot of elements from the mv’s, books, notes that are found on albums and the save me webtoon, combined together it gives us the whole storyline ! The channel "Xceleste" explained it all on her video "bts storyline summary+explained 2020 update" it’s an hour long but it’s worth it :) Anyways I’ll go watch the video now, I’m sure it’ll be amazing as always 😭

There’s a whole long theory explanation on KZbin (sorry I don’t have the link) but saw someone did link and comment where it goes through the whole BU up to a point. They even made 2 books that read as the members’ journals as their fictional character as a tiny part of it and other things. After you watch the Prologue MV, a lot of this will make more sense. It’s very deep but I think you will enjoy it! You’re definitely becoming one of my favourite reactor and I watch various ones…I wait eagerly for your next one. Please take care of yourself too Luna! it's so cool that you literally catch everything from the mv while me watching them back in 2015 and knew nothing. I just got into BU in 2018 when Fake Love was released and then I tried to catch up with theories. Their storyline is IMPRESSIVE!!! like how can someone got the idea to make it a concept of music album????? ps. and ofc welcome to BU, you just one step into it😁the other storyline was separated on the album, the book, notes, etc. it's quite complicated and I remember I was reading the theories from a thread in twitter, I spent all night finishing that and all worth, the journey is worth!!! so I hope you enjoy!!

the second song in the RUN MV is Butterfly, it doesn't have an offical MV but it does have a dance video released for festa, also every short film's soundtrack is the starring members solo song from the wings album. So Jungkook = Begin, Jimin = Lie, V = Stigma, and the remaining members J-hope = MAMA, RM = Reflection, Suga = First Love, Jin = Awake. Each of these songs hold meaning for the real life experiences/feelings of the members as well as Story telling elements for the BU. Oh & J-hope also did the albums intro track "Boy meets Evil"

I Need U and Run Lyrics are about the fragility of youth. When you are young, it is hard to give up on things that are bad for you, have hurt you, toxic people, things, loving and hating something at the same time. But we need to run towards our dreams. Others have said but On Stage Prologue is between I Need U and Run - watch with english subs - Also watch Lyric video to Butterfly, the song playing throughout On Stage Prologue, it is very meaningful, one of the best BTS songs, and will give you a greater sense of the Most Beautiful Moment in Life.

Did you notice at the end all 7 members were around the truck but im the polaroid photo Jin had disappeared and that is the picture Jimin burnt in the bath tub, seen in scenes in I Need you and repeated in Run. You need to watch the prologue video that cane bewteen. V's acting is amazing. Jungkook actually painted the portrait of Suga that they burnt! He had to recreate it afterwards.

Im so glad youre doing this. I have yet to play the game but its on my to do list. I wished i had been around when this storyline was coming out. So rm mentioned one time that for i need you, he used girl at the end because it flowed better then saying friend. Which i thought was cool since after their earlier songs, most of their videos and songs werent really about romantic things. I appreciated that with them since at the time that i got into them it was refreshing to see it be only the band in their videos. Then learning the actual things their songs were about. Butterfly is beautiful. They have a great live performance of it during their busan concert which is gorgeous. The painting in begin, jk actually painted that. He drew it from a real one but made the face more like sugas. At least if im remembering that correctly. You did really good at figuring some things out. Im not going to say yay or nay about anything since youre still just getting into it. Xceleste has a good video that explains the theories on the bu, going through the videos as well as the game and the books. Get ready to think Big Picture, and be ready to NOT get all the pieces of the puzzle until very late in the game! The visual storytelling is magnificent. The book Demian by German author Hermann Hesse plays a big part in the BU. All the passages RM reads out loud in the short films and the imagery and interlude in Blood, Sweat and Tears are all from Demian. Eva is the name of the mother in the book; *mother* being the important part. 😉 Hesse was both a fan and a patient of swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung who is the man behind the psychology model Map Of The Soul which also plays a huge part i the BU and is the name of two of their later albums as well. (You're doing great so far btw. 😏👍) 💜

Ok posting this after the first song cos skshsjdv u also had the same start i did😭 I also saw the BU MVs in a random order and missed so many in between too🧍🏻‍♀️ngl it still confuses me to this day cos I saw it all randomly without guidance. but yeah u got the biggest secret of jin time travelling for his mates so that concept actually makes his scenes so much clearer. i just remember being hella confused during my first watch, all I could figure out that the boys had different degrees of subliminal trauma and they were eo's solace😅 hyyh trilogy songs REALLLLLLLY conveys that helplessness and naivete and jaded optimism and plunging sorrows of youth but also the effervescent happier emotions so so well, I'll forever love this era🤌🏻

I wanna talk about Jimin's short film "Lie". So I'm a BTS fan since 2015 and TRUST ME things weren't really too clear, everyone had their own interpretation and that's kinda still the case, cause nothing got confirmed by BTS themselves like "YES, the BU is specifically about this and this" - BUT, HOWEVER - after years of waiting there were other things released that seem to explain this short film. So a part of BU are the so called "HYYH NOTES", those were little cards with pieces of a story put together added with the albums from the Love Yourself series. Those cards were able to explain the previous content to some extent (and well leave you with more questions as well...). I'm gonna try to explain the "Lie" video. So you totally got that right - Jimin is most likely in a psychiatric hospital and getting asked questions about some things (for example, he's being shown a card with feathers which is apparently associated with Jungkook - the feather-circle symbol is used as Jungkook's symbol in the "Begin" video, so I'm pretty sure he was asked about Jungkook then, in the notes and in the I Need U, RUN etc. music videos it's established all 7 boys are friends with each other, in some way). Later he's shown the symbol of a bitten apple which is Jimin's own symbol - and now, we know a bitten apple is probably a direct reference to the Bible and the original sin, especially Eve's sin. He seems indifferent at whatever the question here was - but we can assume he's lying in answer to that, because the little cuts with him dancing signify he's in his head and it's not good there. Then he's shown a card with "Eva" which is most probably a direct reference to Herman Hesse's book "Demian" (BTS confirmed the book has a lot to do with Wings era storyline). In the book there was a woman called Eva, she was the second main character's mom and was the perfect mother figure all around, she was heavily associated with safety - at that we see Jimin looking over at a second bed in his ward and reaching out to it and we're being shown a glass full of pills. (Jimin views J-hope as his brother and someone he relies on, but jhope has a problem with munchhausen syndrome and takes pills to fake illnesses, due to that he stays at the same hospital as Jimin and becomes his friend there, but he gets discharged significantly earlier than Jimin, it's said Jimin's spent almost his entire life in mental hospitals - this gets confirmed both in the notes, the other Wings short films and the Highlight reels). Then there's the road sign which translated reads to "Flower Arboretum". So this was something that was making fans crazy for years, but it got explained in the HYYH notes. So when Jimin was a kid he apparently witnessed a murder or a rape while being on a trip (?) to some arboretum. It's confirmed that the person who was killed/harrassed was a kid as well. I'm assuming the forest is THE TRAUMA, so the arboretum. There's no tall trees like those shown in the picture in the video in arboretums (usually), but it's nature too, so it's probably a symbol for that. Jimin is being hospitalized because he can't forget what he saw there, but he most likely never actually tells the doctors about the reason for his trauma (he bites the apple which signifies sin and lying is a sin, also the book Demian heavily relies on this idea that lying is a horrendous sin, almost unforgiveable). So he smiles because he has to show it's okay, but deep inside he's dying, there's even the quote there "Trapped inside myself I'm dying". Later when he's alone in the room (the doctor most likely left) - he turns the camera, the focus to the arboretum again - which is the reason of his trauma, because he can't stop thinking about it and is not okay, after all. I know this is a lot and after all, even if I'm sure I got it in at least 70%, well, it's still my own interpretation, it could mean something else, however, I doubt it. So yeah. Thanks for watching these short films, I feel like those are the real gems of BTS and somehow the BU I feel like it is definitely one of the reasons BTS blew up so much, that content is simply very thought provoking and still feels like a breath of fresh air, not many artists have such an elaborate storyline throughout their music videos. I recommend finishing the Short Films and getting into the Highlight Reels, that's another one hell of a ride.

The lyrics are not connected to the storyline, the song in the intro and outro of run it’s called butterfly and it’s a beautiful song you should react to it. 💜WELCOME TO THE BU...Hint - just know that the songs lyrics do not always reflect everything in the MV in the BU.... it is what you are seeing - not hearing that's important. If you get further into the BU the fact that when apart their lives are horrid and together their lives are great is important. You can watch the " BTS Storyline Summary + Explanation" this video will show you all bts storyline summary. The storyline starts in 2014 which is I need you where started and follows by their "BTS Webtoon called Save me" and BTS Universe Its really hard to summary this and thanks to this video that she trying to summary anything she can, if you want to know the whole story you really need to buy the Summary BTS book pt 1 and 2, i don't know the names but the color of the book is has Pink and blue on it
