Their Tiny Desk is one of my favorite things they've ever done! I've watched it countless times. Very cool that you were able to think back and put this in the context of the pandemic. I became an ARMY right at the start of the pandemic, and they basically saved 2020 for me! This Tiny Desk was a big part of that. It's also my favorite versions of both Save Me and Spring Day. I used to only associate Spring Day with the ferry disaster but they performed it so many times in 2020 that I also now associate it with the pandemic, how people were missing each other and couldn't be together. And how BTS missed performing for fans so much. There was a long stretch where they couldn't see ARMY and you can tell it was really tough on them. Spring Day is definitely about the light at the end of the tunnel! I can't recall if you've reacted to Life Goes On or any of the other songs on their BE album, but they're all fantastic and deal with their thoughts and feelings during 2020. Thank you so much for your reaction! Really been enjoying your channel! Borahae!

This one holds a special place in my heart. When I first watched this video, I had just discovered BTS & had only seen Dynamite & Butter videos so far. Of course those two songs made me want to hear more, but this performance made me see the possibility of what was in store for me, although I had no idea how much of a discography they had at that point. This one performance had me jaw-dropped, choked up, smiling, & teary eyed. In an instant I could recognize the beauty & talent of their musicianship, the brilliance & sincerity of their lyrics, the love that they have for each other & their fans, & the realness & integrity of their characters. I was blown away. I must have watched people react to this close to 100 times. I kept coming back to this video, because their names were listed in the subtitles & I could learn their names & voices. I remember being enraptured with the beauty of their Korean language, which I had never heard before. I had such admiration for a group who could combine English & Korean into poetry. Then I watched Festa Room Live & discovered their ability to have such hilarious fun & the variety of genres they could do... & their ever evolving hair changes, lol. And from that point forward I've been trying to watch & learn everything they've ever done! We gonna be here awhile! 💜

Watching your face as you reacted to this performance, reminds me of what I feel when I react to new BTS music or a new performance. I know that you have had some struggles with people telling you how to discover BTS and I get so frustrated when that happens to new reactors who feel authentic like you. "Listen in this order," "Feel this exact thing in this exact way," "Remove all other interests from your life", etc. If your face reflects your heart as you experience BTS, I am right there with you. BTS has brought so much joy to me and I hope you will always feel the same way.

I have been through the ringer these past few days.. Ive been hard on myself, doubting myself and thinking I suck... But today I figured out exactly what I wanted to do.. I took some time and I thought about exactly what I want to do here in the space with my influence.. Its not to sit in this negative energy anymore, its not to let people get to me with words. Im here to have fun, do me, and create something that reminds people of why they love BTS and also learn to accept the fact that I am an individual that is more than just black and white. BTS is flooding me with color. LETS CREATE SOMETHING SPECIAL TOGETHER! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I just found out recently that the Save Me mv was (supposedly?) one of those single (continuous?) shot videos. I'd seen it before, but just didn't pay attention to the cinematography of the video. The second thing I noticed was the torn knees. From what I read somewhere, the tighter fitting pants from their early years were too restrictive for their dancing so they frequently tore the knees to free up their movement. Now I notice it more.

When you see the Save Me mv, also see the behind-the-scenes video for a look at how they filmed panoramic views, close-ups, etc. all in one shot! English speaking ARMYs around the world appreciated this version from Bangtan Subs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpbFmKJ5pNCJmas (We even get a classic "Jungshook" moment at the end, lol.)

To clarify, the Save Me video is a one-shot. It's not a one-take - they did it a few times - but it's all one long shot, no cuts. The camera operator earned his keep that day and then some.
@JN-jx7th Жыл бұрын
@@evantesseract737 Thanks! 😊 My kids tease me that I tend to write soliloquies for my comments (accurate!). So when I try to make them more precise, I inevitably muddle it. I wasn't absolutely sure they didn't get it in one take, but I figured it took at least a few times. Like you said, the camera operator earned their pay that day!
@evantesseract737 Жыл бұрын
@@JN-jx7th I responded because your question marks invited it 😁 lots of folks get that mixed up, which is totally understandable. It seemed like you might want a bit more info. I love love love that shooting sketch - horrible weather and all these young men running around trying to stay behind the camera out of frame, like ducklings. It was brilliantly thought out. I think they were just about broke at that point and the video substituted plain human expertise for flashy effects, sets, and props. I think it really works. The sincerity comes through. Also I forgot to say I loved your comment about the ripped knees. Those skinny jeans!

BTS were supposed to have embarked on a concert tour for Map Of The Soul, but because of Covid, they had to cancel their world tour. Ticket refunds were given, but ARMY chose to donate their ticket refunds instead of keeping it. At the time, no one knew when the pandemic would end, or if things might ever return to normal again. BTS wanted to give ARMYs some hope. I remember being very moved when I first saw this Tiny Desk video, because working in healthcare meant that Covid was very real to me, and it was something I had to face everyday at that time. I still remember that I used to listen to "ON" everyday while I was on my way to work to help out with Covid PCR testing. BTS said that the "BE" album was their pandemic album, but for me, it was the "Map Of The Soul: 7" album which was my pandemic album, because I listened to it everyday to help me get through my work days then.

It's always so soothing to listen to them & this one was no different 😊 On a different note, when you get some extra time, I think you should look up 'The Highly Sensitive Person' by Elaine Aron. She's a psychologist & writes books about us highly sensitive people. At least I believe you may be one like me and many, many other Army. If I'm right, and you are like us, she has a website that has a test with questions that will help you figure out if you are or aren't highly sensitive, and the info on that site is such a validation of who we are. I've been wondering if you are ever since your first BTS reaction. Of course I could be wrong, in which case, apologies for writing such a long comment, lol. Oh, and highly sensitive people, we are empaths. Actually, at least 20% of the population are empaths...scientifically proven that we are very different from the norm. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

The song Save Me and the other songs on the album tell a story. HYYH storyline. I think you should look into this. there are videos about this This is a fictional universe and Bts is linked to most of its albums, books, webtoons and games. A story told in album mv's It was also announced that when the members return, there will be a special work on this for their 10th anniversary. Spring Day is a very deep song in terms of its lyrics and video. You should research the Sewol ship disaster regarding this. This song is related to this event

Loved your reaction to this. I love it too. Rewatching it with you I realised that much as I disliked Dynamite when it came out, I don't think I've ever seen an actual performance of it that I did not like In addition, yes, of course they did Spring Day. At the time this came out BTS had faced the absolute devastation of having to cancel their MoTS7 tour, the evaporation of ALL the plans associated with it (as well as the projected income for them and their company), they had to cope with lockdown (just like the rest of us), but also lose all the interaction of making music on which (I think) a large chunk of their mental health depends. Now, looking back at all the events since then we can see much more of what they had to deal with - knowing for example their plans for hiatus and MMS and all the disruption that would cause. Spring Day is such an eloquent piece and applies to loss of all kinds, so of course it had to come here. The other thing I love about this performance is that we see a glimpse of BTS' relationship with other musicians and with the band. I don't want to overstate this, because they are all, after all, only human, but it's as though each member of BTS has one layer less skin than 'normal' people, so they are more sensitive, inclusive and collaborative than the rest of us. I find it amazing. Of course, they somehow have to cultivate a tougher skin too, because they are the focus for so much criticism and hate - but they manage to do this while retaining so much love and understanding for others. They are an example. Of course, I cried.

Funny thing is I hated it the first few time's I heard it but it grew on me quite quickly as it's fun and I can play around with it.
