Recommending Aeon next, or their re-recording of Innocence of the newest album. Good stuff! And good stuff to these videos too! Also, @5:30 ish, when most of us listen to music we compare it to things we know: "It's like x, it's like y". Crystal Lake, I think, wants us to think instead: "It's like x...wait, no, it's like y...wait, it's NOT like x". They want us to come out of this thinking that Crystal Lake sounds like Crystal Lake. By changing the sounds, rhythms, and melodies we're used to in music of this genre, they're cutting away space in our brains for their own special niche, and it's worked. Crystal Lake lives rent free in my head and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm generally not a fan of this particular genre. But I liked this! Despite being so "brutal" it wasn't 'hard on the ears'. Does that make sense? Was it the lack of screechy tones, mix/master quality, structure? If I still feel the same way after listening to just the song on spotify, that'll give me something to think about. Feeding me with another meal that's not on the regular menu. Chase doing what he does best!
