I just about died when you pulled out the iron, that was awesome. Your phonetic mimicry is really good! In case you haven’t seen this yet, a lot of their songs have lyric videos and while the translations aren’t always great, they’ll often include a romanized version of the lyrics in Korean. If there are words you’re not sure how to say, you could use the lyric videos to figure out the pronunciations. (Not a comment on what you already do, I super enjoy you regardless, more just throwing out a potential resource in case it’s helpful! 😁) loved the jam session!! 💜

Always select closed captions (CC) if available....NEVER never auto generated ones. Besides their 1st MV, they usually have CC for English lyrics. 😁💜🎶

Yes - "Autogenerated subtitles" generates what it thinks is English but is actually Korean. So you will end up with nothing but nonsense except maybe for the few English lyrics in their songs. English closed captions means someone has translated it and added it to the captions. Big difference. If you can't find English closed captions, then search for a video with "eng sub" in the title. You can do that for music videos and live performances both and it doesn't work in only very rare cases, in my experience. For example, I did that for "Dope" and this is the first video (among several) that came up: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKGUiKeZa7x5nNU. Doing that probably isn't any worse than the lyric videos, and at least you're watching the MV or the live performance, which is much more interesting for us viewers (my humble opinion).

Don't listen to those who comment on the pausing you do as you please its your channel, and I am sure most of us don't mind. Okay now to V and his hair i agree its my favorite style of his black and shaggy . Its great you are getting to see the dancing . Also when you are ready do some more live performances they are great. One of my favorites is when they were on Jimmy Fallon doing butter. They actually did it from Korea due to the pandemic , they did it on a huge bridge, they all looked so great and you get to see a dance break. Another great reaction from you thanks.

Fun fact regarding ON: right before JK’s solo part, when they all peel off in that vertical line, they are doing so in order of age! So it begins with JIN, on down the line, ending with JK. Pretty cool! Also, I saw in the comments where someone was talking about Korean age versus Western age, and how Korean age is one year more than how we would count. What they do in Korea in calculating someone’s age, is they count every calendar year that you’ve been alive. So, if you’re born on December 31, then on January 1 you are two years old (even though you’re actually only two days old)! Kind of crazy, but they have several interesting customs regarding age in Korea. So every year on New Year’s Day, everyone adds a year to their age, but they still celebrate their actual birthday when it comes around. But for most of the year, depending on when a person’s birthday falls, they may reportedly be two years older than their actual age. When their birthday comes, then they are only one year more than their actual age. I hope this makes sense, it can be really confusing when you first hear about it. When Koreans meet, one of the first things they ask one another is how old they are, or when their birthday falls, because respect for the elder person is very important to them. They have nicknames for those who are older: for guys, an older guy is “hyung,” and an older girl is “noona.” For girls, an older guy is “oppa” (can be a brotherly type or a boyfriend) and an older girl is “unnie.” For both genders, a younger person is called “dongsaeng.” The term for an older or more experienced person in either a school or work setting is “sunbae.” I hope someone will correct me if I have any of this information wrong! The choreographer for this performance of ON is the woman front and center at the beginning of the MV. She was 19 when she choreographed this and her name is Sienna Lalau. There is a behind the scenes video of her teaching them the dance and also the taping of this performance. I love watching the behind the scenes stuff. YES! RUN BTS is so funny and worth doing here. The episodes are free and don’t get copyright strikes. My 2 absolute favorites; Episode 31, The Amazing Tomato Song and Episodes 102 & 103 are actually a 2 part episode, Avatar Cooking. Bangtan TV channel has all the episodes. Once you get into them you’ll want to see all of them. The variety of games and competitions is really genius. Maybe you could pick a day of the week like you are doing with The Rise of Bangtan? They’re @20 minutes. Mr. Rogers, the headphones game is classic 😁👍

I would love for you to watch Perfect Man performance by BTS. It is THE live performance that really introduced Mr Park Jimin to the world. They are all fantastic in it (RM was not in the performance cuz he was sick or injured) but it is simply unforgettable. Jimin with orange hair in all black🔥🔥🔥

Same for me too. I've tried & tried to get my friends to listen. They just say "I don't listen to that type of music." I'm not going to give up though....they will eventually come over to the BTS side. I also enjoy watching with Lex because it really is like listening with your best friend. Dope will really grow on you - trust me. You will always come back to it and it will become one of your favorites. Love the jam sess at the beginning, and the iron made me laugh. I totally sang too and since I also don't speak Korean I also end up making up words as well..haha ON Era V has one of my favorite hair styles, the wavy hair just suits him so well. Both of the dance are so good. Edit: Also I forgot to mention so the channel 1andK is another channel that has the official MV and for Dope is has the English subs. But FYI not all their MVs have subs. So always check on the hype channel first.

Thank you so much for the reaction! These are two fantabulous songs, that's for sure - it WAS fitting to put them together. Dope was a favorite in my early ARMY days (still is), and ON still just blows me away. In some ways I think it's the best 1st vid of BTS to show people (depending on their tastes). It blows the 'boyband' stereotypes right out of the water, and showcases them at their most powerful & dynamic, and it's just SO GOOD. Anyway :). I was just thinking, you came at a really good time. A comeback announcement is looking pretty imminent, possibly the end of Jan/beginning of Feb, although I we never know with Bangtan. But regardless, it won't be long, and you'll get to be a part of the whole thing, if you want to. The thought crossed my mind, and I got all excited for you :). This is the longest BTS has ever gone without a new album, and they are in a very different position now than they have been, with more of the industry watching, and more fans than ever before. Yes! I love the choreography, and the charisma of the performances of both ON and Dope! (RM is adorable in the latter!) Though, I know you have basically reacted to three versions of ON already (and that you have a long list already as it is), but I do hope you can tack on the official MV of ON, as well, since it's such a different experience from the others. I think Dope is so awesome! I just saw BTS for the first time live last month at their LA concerts and they began the concert with ON. They also performed Dope and did all the same choreo, and it was incredible!!! I usually end up focusing on Jimin in this video because he looks so awesome and his dancing and footwork is amazing… Love ya Lex! Looking forward to more BTS from you…💜

17:56 great catch!! You are right! It is JK singing the first line, then Jimin, then JK then Jimin. It wouldnt have made sense to film them broken up like that back and forth so they just mouthed each other's parts for the mv. They eventually even changed it in their live versions but yes the studio version is not Jimin singing that first line. So proud of you already knowing their voices so well!

I don’t know if you’ll see this comment, as it is on an older video, but I want to thank you for making your videos. I’ve been home sick all week because of Covid and I found your channel days before. I’ve been binge watching your BTS journey from the beginning (idk if that sounded weird or creepy) but your energy and open mindedness has made me so happy and has given me that same energy. I’m sittin’ here cheering you on as you learn everyone’s name, as you explore a newly opened world and as you get flustered over the boys. Your fun is contagious. I just want to say that the dance break in the beginning of this video lifted my spirits a lot. I hope you keep having fun on your journey and to just enjoy letting loose to the music. A teeny tiny suggestion to add to your list if you haven’t seen it yet: Agust D Tony Montana ft Jimin performance. On the tiny desk concert you liked the contrast of their voices so I hope you like this as well. It’s one of my absolute favorites. Thank you again for making those videos.

Also, I’ve got to say that DOPE has a fantastic dance practice video! I hope you keep going with reacting to BTS‘s dance practices because they are all amazing. You literally have to go back and watch each one 7 times to take in what everyone is doing. Something else you need to know is that for every music video that they make, BTS films a five-minute making-of video. These are great, and I bet you would enjoy reacting to them on camera.
