Great pick! Hardly anybody on youtube reacts to this one. I recommend checking out other movies from this director.

I remember seeing this in theaters. It was a worthy follow up to A History of Violence.

I agree. Two of my favorite movies. Both extraordinarily well-written and well-acted.

And also - Viggo Mortensen (who's American) and Vincent Cassel (who's French) played Russians so very well, that actual Russians say that they're almost legit Russian speaking

Viggo Mortensen is ethnic Danish with dual citizenship American and Danish, I believe.

This movie gets better every time you watch it! Viggo’s performance is so, so rich.

I watched another channel with a young Russian woman reacting to this film. She was very impressed at how detailed and accurate a lot of this movie was about Russian culture and language.

One fun ( Well, not really!) fact - the tattooing Viggo was sporting..? was so authentic that when he went off set, for the day, he ran into some Russian tourists, who took one look at his ink..? And ran! Viggo had to catch up to them and inform them who he really was, and that his tattoos..? were for the movie ! He made certain to ALWAYS remove them from that point on. When Cronnenberg goes Hardcore, you know it!

Because you asked, yes the Russians are very direct. But not racist! Russia is home to a large number of people from neighboring countries. People all see themselves as RUSSIANS. Similar to you in the States, people with different roots see themselves as Americans.

There were so many good movies that dealt with human trafficking in the 2000s. It amazed me that it took so long for people to actually care about the subject in real life. Two other good ones are MARIA FULL OF GRACE and SIN NOMBRE. Viggo's had a wide range of roles. Russian gangster, cowboy, half elf, Satan. He's a really good actor. Actually now that I think of it, Vincent Cassel (the crazy son) also played Satan. 🤔 Naomi is also a fantastic actress, especially in her work with David Lynch. The woman who played her mom is Sinead Cusack who is Jeremy Irons' wife. And those are your tidbits for today. 😊

Viggo is a great actor. He's such a method actor that to prepare for this role he went to the little town where the character was supposed to be from to learn the accent n such. Maybe you can react to 'The Green Book', another great movie with Viggo and it's even better since it's based on a true story

I saw this with a packed theater for film class believe it or not. It was the best audience reaction ever. That fight scene was legendary.

Good one! Naomi Watts is the best of the best. Don’t miss out on ”A History of Violence”. Same director, Viggo’s best role (arguably). Love you two. Peace🔥

FYI: the movie takes place in London. "Londongrad" due to the sheer amount of dirty Russian money and the influence of the Russian mob in the city. The depiction of Russian culture or more precisely, Russian diaspora culture (which is not the same) is very accurate, however.

I'm a big fan of this movie, and it's my first time seeing you guys! Definitely subscribing. Some fun facts: Viggo spent a significant amount of time driving alone through Siberia to perfect his accent. And this was supposed to be the first part of a trilogy that, unfortunately, seems to be dead in the water. This was also written by the same guy who wrote Dirty Pretty Things and directed Locke.

It's best to watch movies and do blind reactions, no research or anything, the reactions are always better. If needed or if you want you can do the research after and include interesting things with the reaction, as post-reaction, if you want. Some reactors do that kinda thing. This is my 1st reaction of yours that i watch so not sure what's your guys' style. Good job tho
