The producers explained they designed this movie for the fans and only for the fans. As a fan, I think it is a solid piece of FNAF media to pick apart and enjoy. As a horror fan, this was very dulled down, so was this a masterpiece? No, but it was fun 😄

It was so fun being in theaters. I went with my dad, and two friends of mine, one who knew bare bones lore, and the other who was deep in the lore with me. Me and deep lore friend were over here freaking out about "dream theory book" and "was that the bite of 87" and "that kid is definitely supposed to be the puppet", while my dad and other friend were just like "whaaaaaaat"? Then MatPat happened and we all collectively imploded along with the rest of the theater. It was so funny.

There is little way to choose between a MatPat or Markiplier cameo, I understand and respect the gentleman doing the intro... but DAYUM am I so obsessively grateful Mat got a cameo in this. WITH ("the?") LINE!!! How odd his "So you want some Diet Cokes yes?" was cut, that's... weird. Legal's always weird.

What you said about Vanessa’s arc being a reflection of Michael Afton’s in the games is right imo This movie does kinda follow the established lore very closely, just shuffled around a bit - the two families of the owners in the games seem to have been flipped: Games: Henry - 1 daughter (Charlie) William - 3 kids (Crying Child, Michael, Elizabeth) Movie: Schmidt Family - 3 kids (Garett, Mike, Abby) William - 1 daughter (Vanessa) In the games, Michael accidentally kills his brother and is racked with guilt for his life In the movie, Mike failed to watch his brother, resulting in his death and is racked with guilt for his life There’s a lot of interesting decisions made with this version of the story and I could very much see them continue to closely but uniquely twist the original story in the sequel - which is confirmed to have the shiny toy animatronics from the second game :)

And then there is also a lot of book references. The Ella doll animatronic (she is a book version of Baby), then Abby hiding in ball pit is very similar to specific scene of Charlie hiding in one of the books and even just the inclusion of the pit as part of the set, could be a nod to Into The Pit.

I am picturing a prequel sort of restaurant. Maybe creepy hallway to bathroom, the characters sing and perform and every once in a while turn to stare at customers, they could get the angry eyebrows and all lights in restaurant flicker for a second then back to normal. A normalish restaurant with a hint of what's to come.

I think we get enough of like special events, with cosplayers to quench that thirst. But better not do a restaurant chain based on fictional place where children were unlived. It would be fun idea for like horror attraction for seasonal stuff though. And with VR, you kinda can live that experience as well.

There were 5 animatronic! Its really hard to see/ tell the difference in the movie but the animatronic that goes to mikes house and kills the aunt is golden freddy!! Not regular freddy! Tbf it is very hard to tell on the first watch, but yeah so thats chica , bonnie, foxy, freddy AND golden freddy (not at the end yet so unsure if yall figured ut out yet or not)

Scott is the only person who makes alternate universes to give his audience clues what's happening in the game but the audience had to figure out which ones are important. Fazbear book trilogy: In the original you have a world where it's possible to make robot that look like people with fake blood in aging. And William want to know how Henry figure out the secret to do that for he can make himself live forever. Fazbear fight book series: In the second book series afton's criminals made a evil entity called agony that can spread between animatronic and effect people. First game to ultimate custom night: Wants to know how to bring back his favorite kids from the dead before William himself dies. Tales of the pizza Plex series: So far villain is a robot call the mimic that wasn't engineered by Afton. Half the communities are fighting and confused about that. Also making this FNAF META ARC which was the creation of Malhare/Glitchtrap is mimic code which learns about William Afton and his killings. In the movie universe is a mixture of all these William personalities in one. So he knows he has to die completely in the costume to haunt it but he doesn't know how painful it is.

The movie is its own continuity, just like the books are their own, separate from the games. Just like the marvel movies, none of them are direct canonical adaptations of anything, they're all new stories based on a franchise. Even Dune, as near perfect an adaptation it is, is its own continuity because of several key changes.

55:25 There's rumor of a other script of the movie that's rated R. The burger who died in the closet he gets Bonnie's guitar shoved down his throat. There was More gruesome deaths and foul language in the rated R but Scott changed it because most of the fans in the series are kids. And you don't want another Warner Brothers DC promoting like Harley Quinn that was promoted to little girls but the movie was rated R so they couldn't see it.

basically afton was the cofounder and robotics engineer of fazbears. he dressed in the springbonnie suit and lured the kids to the back room and killed them and stuffed their bodies in the suits. the animatronics attack you infnaf 1 cuz they believe that you are afton. tho in the movie, the kids believed they were friends with the yellow rabbit because of manipulation through drawings

What's very interesting about this movie is the way that character's and their roles have been altered/split up from their game counterparts. Mike Schmidt, Abby, and Garrett are all obvious stand-ins for the 3 Afton children, Michael, Elizabeth, and the Crying Child. But they have had parts of their stories removed or altered. Mike is still the nightguard mourning the loss of his brother, but the arc of "righting the sins of his father" has been given to Vanessa. Abby is still Mike's younger sister, and like Elizabeth in the games, she goes to a place she shouldn't go to, and encounters a doll-like aninatronic with a dangerous open chest. But unlike Elizabeth, she isn't pulled in and killed by a claw, she is nearly killed by the springlocks, but gets rescued. Garrett still serves the role of "Mike's younger brother who dies tragically and sets his arc into motion" but the circumstances of his death have changed drastically. Rather than being killed by accident and getting bitten by Fredbear, he is kidnapped by Afton and killed, which makes sense since he isn't Afton's son in the movie. In fact, his death shares close parallels to the death of Charlotte Emily in the games. He is Afton's first victim, indicated by young Vanessa having his plane, he is killed via car, he is killed outside of Freddy's, etc. All of this would indicate that he may become the Puppet, like Charlotte does in the games. Its an example of a character serving their normal role but also having it extended into another character's role, kind of like... Vanessa, who still serves the role of Afton's lackey, like in the games, but rather than being an innocent woman manipulated by Afton's ghost, she takes on part of Michael's role and is Afton's eldest child. Even Afton himself has taken over the roles of other characters in addition to his own. He is the movie's stand-in for Phone Guy! Plus, there is also the obvious difference that his three kids are no longer his kids. The only character who hasn't had a major role swap/plotline change is Golden Freddy, the creepy little blonde boy who talks to Mike and takes Abby back to Freddy's. He still is just one of Afton's victims who seemingly has more knowledge than the other kids and chooses to let Afton suffer. Its SUPER interesting picking apart all of these characters and seeing who became what and what relationship dynamics have shifted.

The thing I was most excited about when watching the film was hearing The Living Tombstone's song show up in the end credits. I have been in the pony fandom since early 2012, and TLT had gotten his start doing pony fan songs and remixes. he had been one of the top music creators in the fandom early on (back then he had even tried singing, not just doing instrumental stuff), and had started start branching out into other fandoms. his first break out hit outside the pony fandom had been that FNAF song. so seeing it show up in a major theatrical film was amazing. while i was looking forward to the movie in general (I hadn't played the games, but had seen lets plays, and since i am heavily involved in the pony source filmmaker community, which SFM, is the primary source of FNAf fan content and there was a good amount of overlap between the two fandoms there, i knew most of the lore thru osmosis) that tidbit was what made me the happiest to see. and fun fact: he had tweeted out that they had actually contacted him about using his song in the movie way back in 2018. which shows you how long the movie had been in the works.

I love the Five Nights at Freddy’s games. I’ve never played them myself, but I’m a big sucker for the lore so when I found out, they were making a movie of this for weeks I was watching hours long videos, explaining everything about the games leading up to the release of the movie and I saw it with my boyfriend the day after it came out, and I was on the edge of my seat, looking for every single Easter egg the entire time we were in the theater and then when it came out on DVD, I went and watched it back again to actually watch the movie. A lot of people didn’t like it because it wasn’t very accurate they made a movie of the second game instead of the first one some of the Lore got mixed up, but I love it regardless

Got super stoked when guys said you were going to watch this. And I must say, I was super impressed how much you both knew and invested to the lore, like known for years with just how you guys knew the different characters, The Bite, ect. And what I truly like is that it was a film made for the Fans, so they could pick into it and enjoy it, even if it didn't follow the games too closely. I showed my sister the film the other night, cause she's a FNAF fan, and she enjoyed and picked into it as well. But, as a horror fan, I would have enjoyed more scares and the horror factor, but being that there was a younger audience that knows the games and wanted to see the film, I can see why they didn't go into it as much. I personally felt it was more of a Dark Comedy that resembled M3gan, Krampus and Cocaine Bear. P.S. #1. Took me a while, but the 5th child took the form of Golden Freddy. #2. The Post Credit scene got many hyped up, as they were expecting Markiplier to make a cameo appearance like the two KZbinrs did in the film.

about the 5 kids, yes, there were 5 kids and 5 suits mainly (Freddy, Foxy, Bonnie, Chica and Golden Freddy) the reason you can just see the only four animatronics moving is because Golden Freddy in the lore doesn't have its endoskeleton inside. All the ghost can do is just twitch the animatronic but not move in full extent that's why in the games it can only manifest or project itself not like the others roaming around. I guess they change it at the movie but at the same time they retain its spectral powers to just manifest in and out of thin air. 😁👍👍 if you want another perspective on the lore you might want to check out @Dual-Process-Theory too, since you guys are watching horror movies you might want to check also Ghost Stories (2017) and When Evil Lurks (2023)

Spoilers Ahead! I waited 8 and a half long years for this movie, and it was totally worth it! The story line was much different than I was expecting, but in a good way! I loved the plot twists that this movie had regarding the character of Vanessa, and her connection to William Afton. I also really liked that the team behind the movie focused more on crafting a story line, than making a movie with no story line, and just mindless jump scares. The acting in this movie was great. After not seeing Josh Hutcherson in a movie for almost 8 years, it was great to see him in a new movie. Josh was perfect as Mike Schmidt, and I could not have seen anyone else in that role. Elizabeth Lail did a great job as Vanessa, and she really made you care for her character. Piper Rubio gave a great performance, considering her age, and lack of experience. Kat Conner Sterling did a good job as Max also, and I really felt bad for what happened to her character. Matthew Lillard, despite only having 3 scenes, was perfect as William Afton. I cannot picture anyone playing that role but him anymore. I am looking forward to seeing him portray William again in a sequel. The fan service moments were great also. Loved that Shadow Freddy made an appearance, and I am really hoping that Kat Conner Sterling is able to return to voice Shadow Freddy in a sequel. I cannot believe that Sparky the dog made an appearance as well, perfect little Easter Egg also. Balloon Boy's appearance was not something I was expecting at all. His jump scares were so funny, and random at the same time. I also could not believe that MatPat showed up in the movie. So nice to see him. This film laid the foundation for a whole new franchise. I loved that the movie ended with William Afton becoming Springtrap (Which I totally predicted back in February/March by the way). I hope the sequel fleshes out more of Vanessa's relationship with William Afton, and you find out why she is so loyal to him. I believe that they will adapt elements of FNaF 4 in the next movie, and it will be revealed that Vanessa accidentally killed her younger brother, and that William plays on her guilt over killing him, and that is why she was loyal to him for so long. I also hope that it is revealed that the Puppet Animatronic is fused with Garrett (Mike's younger brother who was killed by William Afton). They teased the Puppet at the end of the movie, and I hope that that is the connection to Mike in the end. I would also like to see Henry Emily show up, but I have a hard time seeing how they will do it right now. Maybe they will find a way to surprise me. I am also hoping that the film is a little bit scarier, and that William Afton (Portrayed by Matthew Lillard of course) has a bigger role. Out of 4 stars I would give it... 4 out of 4 stars Thanks Jason Blum, Scott Cawthon, and everyone else who made this possible, The long years of waiting were worth it in the end!

A co-worker/friend of mine, she and two of her family members are into the five nights at freddy's. She theorized that Chica, when she was alive, had a dog. William had killed the dog around the time when he killed Chica. When William stuffed Chica's body in the animatronic, William stuffed the dog in the cupcake, hencing why the cupcake is very bitey.

I think one of the problems with this movie is it feels a lot like if Disney got hold of the rights to Willy's Wonderland, which already did the premise in a much better and less Easter Egg filled way.

Willy's Wonderland was completely unrelated and an original story. the director even confirmed he hadn't even known what FNAF was until the first trailer dropped and everyone started making the comparison. and honestly, aside from the details of the backstory, the games are pretty kid friendly. no blood, no gore, no cursing. just creepiness and jumpscares. disney films have worse content then whats in most of the games.

As a fnaf fan i think Its a great movie,yes, It has some problems But the actors an animatronics are amazing and addict some things to the lore Its a 7/10 movie If it was a 16+ movie It could Be Better and scary

Year 2023 was year of Fnaf. Year 2024 is year of Vivziepop's ""Hazbin Hotel & Helluva boss"" Arcane season 2; Lord of the Rings Rings of power season 2. Its so f*cking awesome, fantastic and mind was/is/will blowing Hell Yeaaaaah. Yeah, because it was supposed to be one of those like horror movies and then it was supposed to be like you took the video game but not the same like the video game but I’m hoping the second one is a lot like the video game as well because I’m super excited that the second one is gonna come out too, but that’s not until like next year, but it was supposed to be this year so now they’re just gonna change it to like next year but I’m still totally down plus if the first one is better than the second one then I’m gonna say that the first one is probably better than the first one, but I’m not sure well not yet because I have to wait until the second one comes out just to see plus HANNAH is totally down to see the second one because the first one was lol just a little bit and then I’m hoping that the second one is more of like one of those horror films like one of those movies like the ones with the goosebumps in them like the doll movies and it’s a lot like that and it’s more like terrifying maybe but you never know with my kind of questions though

PS if they do decide to do a second one then they have to also make the third one with like circus, baby and a bunch of the other characters by taking a lot of the other five nights at Freddy’s inspiration, like the music song by counter in racker and like Ghostbusters plus like another, five nights at Freddy’s kind of video game though and they have to use like the 100% wolf series just because then maybe it would make it more like one of those haunted videos plus I am super excited for 200% wolf. I totally forgot about that one too.

Yeah, but I beat the first level. They totally cheated on the level because I totally beat it and that’s also why I totally want them to make it for the Nintendo switch not just like virtual reality again because I could totally beat the first level and then try on the second level again. Plus they need to like. Make those other games but like the Mario and sonic ones for like the Nintendo switch as well unless they did then. That’s totally cool then sometimes they just don’t know what I’m talking about the people like for the Nintendo switch computer part if you catch my drift, which means every time I search on the Nintendo store like on the Nintendo switch. They usually don’t know what I’m talking about or like not found or like don’t know about that stuff either.

PS I still just like leaving cool comments just to help out this channel to a little bit and helping anyone else with the video game because it’s totally easy to play the video game like the first one I could do it in a snap blindfolded if I had to But yeah, HANNAH would have to be my eyes my best friend and the second one I think was a little bit harder, but the third one was pretty simple and then I never got around to playing the fourth one just because I totally like forgot about the fourth one and the fifth one as well but the sixth one is hard so I gave up on that one almost immediately. I think it's actually sucks when people do their research on the story before watching the movie. Like, spoilers, DUH. I come into these expecting people who know NOTHING. Or the people who know it's about killer robots but literally didn't have an ounce of a clue they were possessed by ghosts (there's at least one reactor i saw who was like this and it was SO entertaining.) So probably a good lession to learn. Go in completely blind for something and search the source material later?

The critics didn't not like the movie because it wasn't "woke". They didn't like it because it wasn't scary, it wasn't very accessable to people new to the franchise and how many parts weren't written well. Don't blame stuff on "wokeness" for no reason.
