'Pulling a sickie' - a term people use when they're taking a day off work ill. 'Pulling' - a term people use when they're trying to attract someone (ie 'i've pulled' basically means you've been successful in attracting someone) So he's basically twisted the phrase most of us Brits would use to describe taking a day off ill from work as he's managed to attract someone ill at the hospital he works at (where he's used the word sickie to describe a sick patient)

The arm in a cast joke is a double play on words - cast, as in an arm (plaster) cast you get when you break your arm, and cast as in the cast of a TV, or in this case stage show (Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat)

I know that some of these jokes are primarily UK based, so won't make sense to an American, but some of them work in any country. I don't understand how they didn't get some of them. The history/geography joke is obvious.

I'm English and a lot of us laugh at the most twisted humour. It's part of our national character. Laughing at horrible things takes away their power. I don't like jokes that attack minorities (racist, sexist, homophobic etc) but apart from that, anything is fair game.

The Worthers Originals joke doesn't really land for me since they taste lovely. But the joke growing up was that they were "paedo" toffees because of an advert campaign with a grandfather and his grandson which came across as rather creepy

If you want the darkest, most messed up comedy sketch, look for 'Paul Smith - too far?' It's only 5:28 long and is him ruining a member of the audience. It's so savage, it's hilarious. Not many reactors have seen it yet, so be one of the first.

Basically a play on the doctor asking the patient if he's tried arm patches (in a similar way a smoker would have patches to help their cravings) with the patient thinking Patches is the name of a dog.
