17:29 they didn't just lose 1 or 2 games, as that commentator said Faker and his team indeed went downhill in 2018-2021, lose a lot and was not even qualified to international tournaments in some years, after dominating the world for 4 years - and that's totally normal! The career of a professional esports player is pretty short, so I believe it's reasonable for people to think Faker's prime is over and start looking at the new rising stars (that Showmaker guy is considered the closest to Faker's level by many, sadly his prime is quite short), no disrespect intended here. What isn't normal here is Faker, at 28, somehow still came back and won Worlds... back to back. Again. Truly the GOAT.

@@VictorNightroad The average professional League player plays between 2 and 4 years. Some of the better pros will go 5 or 6 years. Faker has been playing professionally at the top level for 12 years. He is literally just different. 18:10 Korea's LCK has the most championships, which is 8. Chinese LPL has 3, Europe's LEC and Taiwan has 1. In fact, Faker won worlds 5 times(2013, 2015, 2016, 2023 and 2024), which is more than a half of LCK's wins and more than whole LPL Worlds trophies. Incredible! There is also a fact that out of 13 Worlds Faker has been in the Grand Finals in 7 out of them.

2023 worlds Storyline was wild. It was mentioned briefly in the video. but worlds that year was in South Korea. By the time T1 (Faker's team) played in the quarterfinals, there were 4 LPL (Chinese) teams left along with T1, the last South Korean representative. The LPL and LCK are the biggest regional rivals in League of Legends, and it would have been a national humiliation to have 4 Chinese teams in the semifinals when worlds was in South Korea. But against all odds, T1 who has never lost to a Chinese team in a best of 5 at worlds, won the finals. I remember even the president of South Korea congratulating the team on their worlds win.

Im sorry in advance but I'll try to explain: in the summoner's rift map, where league is played in pro play, theres 5 players in each team. The map has 3 lanes (literally 3 lines across it), top lane, mid lane and bot lane. Top lane is where you get mostly your tanks and bruisers and its usually a 1v1 lane, mid lane is literally in the middle of the map, you play mostly mages or assassins and its also 1v1 but theres a lot of pressure from both sides. Bot lane is 2v2, its where you have a ranged attack damage carry and the support of the team (engager, tank, healer, etc), the extra "lane" its not really a lane, its the jungle! The jungle is between the lanes and its where your 5th player goes, they farm neutral monsters, gank their lanes to help their team get ahead and have to secure objectives like drakes and stuff that give permanent or temporary buffs to your team. You win by killing enemy turrets, enemy inhibitors and finally the enemy nexus has to explode. They have a pick and ban phase before the game starts, theres 169 champions of right NOW. Depending on the meta some champions become stronger and every team wants to play them, so in that phase both teams have 5 bans and they get to pick 5 champions... maybe the best right now, maybe the champions youre better at or sometimes champions that work amazing together. You stay with the champion you picked for the entire game. The map is mirrored, both blue and red side are basically the same.. except blue side has a bigger winrate because playing on red side feels like youre playing upside down XD When you die, you have a death timer that grows the longer the game goes on and then you respawn in your base, you can also go back to your base when you have money by recalling to buy items! I hope this helped in any way! You could probably check out a video about league on your own to help you! Also Faker is special because he steps up when hes needed (mechanically) and because he helps the entire team by talking a lot during the games, giving them information, directions and suggestions, he knows the game like the back of his hand! Western teams do go to Worlds but usually they dont make it far (theres exceptions ofc, Fnatic, european team, won 1st worlds AND G2, other european team, made it to finals in 2019), League of legends is 100% the Asians' playground. Edit: Faker is very very humble, he paid for his father's house and grandparents' house, he feeds the younger players BUT besides that he doesnt spend money really, he says he spends around 200 bucks a month and he also doesnt wear skins in game. Even his own skins he does NOT want to buy them, and tbh that makes him so inspiring because a lot of us cant pay for skins either!

What amazes me the next trophy was winning EWC(Esports World Cup), unfortunately their summer season didn't go to well they did make it to playoffs though and got 3rd which was so cool especially with how rough summer was going apart from winning that world championship. So they had to go into Regionals and they lost first game against the LCK team that came 4th but thankfully next series they played it went to game 5 and they won so just slipped in to being able to go to Worlds which is the major championship everyone wants. They lost their first match too a chinese team called TES but they eventually just picked up pace started playing so good they ended up winning World's 2024 so that's the second time this T1 Organization has had a back to back performance and Faker was their involved with both so this T1 roster if they stay together it's basically another T1 Dynasty and the only Org to ever have this happen.

The reason Keria cried in despair was because before the match they were considered stronger and the chance to reach the trophy was very close. Although Faker has achieved it 3 times, for the remaining 4 young players, this is their lifelong dream. And when they let it slip out of their hands, they may never have that chance again. Getting to the finals of Worlds is not easy, there are hundreds of players and only 10 players have to make it, the chances are very very small and there are many factors including luck. If they don't win in year 23, then year 22 will truly be a lifetime of regret because they could have win but lost because of their own arrogance.

I loved your reaction bro, keep it up! While you don't fully understand the game that much (tbh it is a very hard game to learn at first, look at it as a super fast chess game + football game at the same time, with every piece is moving non stop) you get the essence and feeling about the competitiveness of the sport perfectly: crying, passion, teamwork etc :) For a little more context about fakers career: he has been playing from 2013 till 2024 now and from 2013-2017 he was seen as the best player in the world (he could 1vs5 the game basicly, if he wanted). If you have Faker's skill he was like 95% perfect and the rest of the players back then were like 60% compared to him in 2013-2017 but from 2018, he stayed around 90-95% perfect while other players started to catch up and started to get that 90-95% aswell. He could not play 1vs5 anymore, so he had to reinvent himself and become a better teamplayer and leader. In 2018-2021 were his 'dark years', where he did not win alot of championships and people were saying he was getting old and should retire (average pro play career is age 18-22 so 3 or 4 years), that's why he unique that he is 28 now and won back to back world championships at 27-28 years old (not as the best player in the world but as a teamplayer and clutch player) sorry im all over the place and read all of this (english is my 3rd language :D) , he is also very humble and kind so a good player to inspire you

So, the easiest way to describe how great Faker is I could think of is... imagine if Messi - with all of his magical plays - won World Cup and Champions League in the first year he played for Barca, literally outplayed every football legends at that time, keeps winning trophies and Ballon D'or years after years later, has played twice or even 3 times longer than almost any pro football player, still won international tournaments at 50, and throughout his whole career there's no one could be seriously considered his rival like Ronaldo, just some random Mbappe/Yamal who's way younger than him and obviously have better physique but their form quickly declined in a few years. Also there's no stupid arguments like "is he that good or it's just his team" because he's already won many times with completely different teammates. Also never losed to any EPL teams at Champions League for 20 years and literally became the nightmare of this whole league. Also somehow got the brain of Pep Guardiola when he got older. That's how crazy Faker is. There's a pretty short video that I think you can do a quick react called "The Number: Faker". This man's record is so ridiculous that someone could think he's the only one playing this esport.

Each player has one champion per game, but once you die u are just dead for amount of time depending on how long the game already is ranging from idk 15 seconds to almost a minute So you have 5 roles in one team in league, map is split into 4 sections. There's Toplane where Toplaners ofc operate - Usually thats where Tanks play (Not always ofc) U 1v1 there with enemy toplaner There is Jungle, where the junglers have thier kingdom, Junglers role is to take objectvies from the map and help other lanes, acting as a support for all the lanes. Midlane, where midlaners are such as Faker, usually on mid you play ranged mages. Then there is Botlane, the only 2v2 lane where each team have ADC (Attack Damage Carry, in theory it should be played by ranged characters that are not mages, but mages work there tho ocasionally) and Support, adc is your team's primary damage source, support's most important role for the team is gain help early for your adc and then roam around the map and gain vision/help other lanes acting like a second jungler basically. Map is divided kinda like this: ------------------Top Lane Blue Jungle | River | Red Jungle ------------------Mid Lane Red Jungle | River | Blue Jungle -------------------Bot Lane In the river you have objectives that junglers try to acquire for thier teams, the objectives give some sorts of buffs. Each jungler have its own two parts of the jungle. LPL, LCK, LEC, and few others are regional championships from league. Think like idk Premier League in football, but for the whole continent. So basically Champions League if it was first division.
