Midnight in the Heart of Midlothian is a short story written by Frank O'Connor, which is featured in the book Halo: Evolutions - Essential Tales of the Halo Universe. It follows the story of an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper named Michael Baird in battle aboard the ship UNSC The Heart of Midlothian, with the help of the AI Mo Ye. The story takes places shortly after the Halo Legends short film Prototype; the beginning of the motion comic adaptation even depicts the battle featured in the short film
Halo is an American military science fiction media franchise managed and developed by 343 Industries and published by Xbox Game Studios. The franchise and its early main instalments were originally developed by Bungie.

The biggest flaw the Covenant had during the Human-Covenant war was that they underestimated humans to such a degree, that they always got bamboozled in the end. Sure they learned to fear Spartans enough and see them as a real danger, but even regular humans surprised the Covenant from time to time. And the Covenant never quite learned from that mistake

This story was originally featured in the Halo Evolutions book. If I remember correctly, the rumble drug Baird took let him slap the Elite so hard he shattered literally every bone his hand. He went out defiant to the end.

If you’re wondering, Midnight In The Heart Of Midlothian takes place after Halo Legends’ “Prototype”, even referencing it in the intro. However, this would be AFTER the civilians have been secured. Midlothian itself was returning to Algolis to make sure the Cole Protocol was enacted. Will also mention that Gamers’ Little Playground’s particular capture of this has a few audio issues, but just the capture they made.

Fun Fact: At the end of the Halo Legends episode "Prototype" where the Sargent sacrifices himself in the mech suit to save his comrades. In the final report, you here the commander say "Were going to rendezvous with Heart of Midlothian" Setting up the events to this series. you can even see the Prototype suit in the open images of this episode

The Heart of Midlothian is basically the middle of Edinburgh. The TH is pronounced like "The" The reason the characters are Scottish (Or, I should say - The worst attempt at a Scottish accent I, a Scottish person, has ever heard)

Yeah while the way Jade is trying to say it is cute the accents are terrible. Like the AI sounds Russian and the Doctor sounds like he spent time in London trying to mask his accent. I will say as Jade likes her Gears the fact the ODST is called Baird is interesting as John Logie Baird was a Scottish inventor ( much like Baird in gears ) and invented the first colour TV. As Yangy said the Heart of Midlothian is Edinburgh where I live. Mid-Low-thee-ann would be the best way to pronounce it.
