BACKSTORY/PRE-DEBUT ACTIVITIES 1. YEJI (Leader, Main Dancer): Yeji auditioned at JYP. She also participated in "The Fan" show by SBS. This is where her nickname "JYP's Hidden Weapon" started. 2. LIA (Main Vocal): She auditioned to SM Ent. first and she passed however she did not pursue her career there and auditioned in JYP as well and she passed. 3. RYUJIN (Center, Main Rapper): She got casted at a GOT7 concert. She just attended a concert but a staff spotted her and asked her number which she gave because the staff was cute 😂 Ryujin also competed in a survival show by JBTC "MIXNINE" and ranked #1 in female contestants. YG ceo Yang Hyunsuk wanted to steal her from JYP 😂 4. CHAERYEONG (Main Dancer): She, along with her sister Chaeyeon (who is a former iz*one member now a soloist) was casted by JYP through SBS' competition show "K-pop Star 3". Then she was part of JYP's survival show "SIXTEEN" where the TWICE members will be formed she came far but didn't make it to the final lineup. 5. YUNA (Visual, Maknae): Her sister is a BTOB fan and she accompanied her to KBS Gayo Daejun 2015 and there she got casted by a staff (just like Ryujin). Funfacts in 2017 - RYUJIN and YUNA appeared in BTS' Love Yourself highlight reel and did mini acting there. - The same year, all ITZY members except LIA appeared on the reality of MNET for Stray Kids. There's a starter guide for ITZY but these things I mentioned weren't part of it and is a MIDZY knowledge level so I'd like to share it to you in case. Please do react on their starter guides the original one is "Unhelpful guide to ITZY" by ryujinies uploaded 3 years ago. They have good info, however it's kind of outdated so its your choice if you watch it or the other ones like from itzybean and kpop einsteinium (I suggest all of them lol) ❤

I know you’re just starting your Itzy journey, but I wanna highlight “Bet on Me,” which takes a step back from the dancing to push vocals and vulnerability around doubts of self-confidence. Just like with Twice having suffered various attacks and controversies in the “first half” (initial contract period-wise) of their career and JYP writing “Feel Special” for them, he once again penned an uplifting song to pick Itzy and Midzys back up.

Another fun reaction! And yes, the ICY music video was filmed in LA. As for the part about dancebreaks...id say about maybe half of their songs have dancebreaks...Dalla Dalla, ICY, Wannabe, Loco (off the top of my head). Their choreo got a lot more simpler over the years (partly due to tiktok trends, partly due to the members getting some injuries)...although their last album Born to Be probably has my favorite choreo from them. I just watched them in concert a few days ago and theyre amazing live🤯

To me it's obviously Yeji Love (my bias I always refer to her as Love) and Ryujin (both tend to be the most popular members ironically too). Despite Mafia in the Morning being darker it's actually a Love song and was written by JYP. Also for Itzy guides I must admit I don't like any of them. To me they all fail to capture them well (Twice and even NMIXX have good guides) best it has to me is "A Somewhat Helpful Guide To Itzy: Member Introduction (2023)".

Oh yeah, all JYP groups' MVs release on JYP Entertainment YT channel. Then Performance videos and other content releases on each groups own YT channel. These MVs set the bar pretty high. I remember from Nizi Pro and A2K that JYP always said Itzy songs and choreos are difficult. I wonder if and how they pull it off live on stage.
