I could talk about onlyoneof for days on end but all I can say rn is that they are so amazing and they deserve more recognition and hype. Their music is top tier, even if the sound of 'skinz' isn't your favourite, just know that that song is their most experimental and the rest of their music sounds quite different. they cover a lot of different sounds. They are also one of the only Kpop groups (if not the only one) that OPENLY supports and represents the lgbtq+ community in their music and videos and also does it so respectfully and full of love. Some mv's i'd recommend are 'Begin', 'Be Free' (these two share a story line and are a continuation of each other), libidO, 'suit 'dance', and a 'sOng Of ice and fire'.

OnlyOneOf are truly something else, songs like Suit Dance make me feel something I've never felt before. Them openly supporting lgbtq+ makes me so happy, since I don't even have to be afraid that one member might have some skewed views, but instead I know they all openly support it. I really hope their next comeback, after all their solos, get recognised more than they have been before.

When you were watching BTS' Boy With Luv, it's funny you said it feels theatrical and Broadway to you, because they did make the music video paying homage to Singin' In the Rain. Including the release date of the song itself having something to do with the musical (I forget exactly what it was - there are explanation videos that break it down). They also performed the song during one of their online concerts with all of them carrying umbrellas.

So many great songs by them, so hard to just pick a few to recommend but if I had to keep it down to four I would say you should check out "fingertip" "love whisper" "time for the moon night" and "crossroads". omg GFRIEND!!! Their music often gives like retro vibes. I also really recommend their song Apple! It's more of a darker fairytale concept! I also really recommend Enhypen's Drunk-Dazed or Fever! Both darker concepts and relate to their storyline but what I love best about those is choreo, those are one of my most favorite choreographies ever! I would say it's worth watching dance practices almost more than the MVs they are SO good!

You are very much right on about "Mago" both its message and styling. Such a flashback to the retro disco days. Mago is said to be a female deity in the Korean legend who created the universe. Again very much in line with the empowerment theme of the song.

I think the context is more fitting for self-empowerment when applied in the lyrics of Gfriend's Mago, especially as part of their final trilogy . The reference of Mago as a deity has Chinese roots in the legend but it is apparently recognized in Korean culture as well, as I've seen its use in Kdrama.

Oh man, I'm SO EXCITED you checked out OnlyOneOf! They're my ult group and they're SO underrated. I probably wouldn't pick "skinz" as your introduction to them since it's sonically quite a bit different than most of their stuff (though I do adore it personally). If you want to check out more, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend "libidO." They're also currently doing a project where each member will release a solo each month. The two we've gotten so far are "begin" by Yoojung and "be free" by KB, which are a two-part story, so they're meant to be watched in that order. I really hope you check out more from them!! :D

Thank you for checking out OnlyOneOf and their masterpiece skinz. It is a lot to take in from the first listen/watch, but I think you are on point with their general intention. OOO's work is always open to interpretation, so there are no absolute right or wrong answers. Their songs are also highly connected to explore humanity, so I recommend checking out other work from them. For example, sage, libidO, skinz, begin, and be free focuses on suppression and expression of sexuality/idenitty. dOra maar and gaslighting have more to do with toxic relationships. Their entire discography is top tier and very different from the typical kpop groups.

I highly recommend you check out OnlyOneOf! They are very unwound and each member is having a solo released. So far two memevers have released their very queer songs Begin and Be Free. Check out libidO which is essentially the other half of skinz and their dOra maar dance practice! You won’t be disappointed.

I'm still pretty new to OnlyOneOf but I find them such fascinating artists. They feel kind of like performance artists as much as musicians if that makes sense. Their videos make the former film student in me vibrate with the need to analyse because they use such clever techniques and tell a lot of story with the camera. I would also recommend always reading the descriptions for their videos after you've had your own thoughts etc. because they usually contain a bit of a statement about it. I'm pretty sure the song 'libidO' follows this one and I highly recommend. Like I'm ace but I can still talk for ages about libidO because the art. They've also started releasing some solo tracks. Yoojung's 'Begin' actually got me into the group, that song is kind of an earworm. But Yoojung's 'Begin' is pt. 1 and KB's 'Be Free' is pt. 2 of the MV storyline. Honestly I think you did a pretty good job analysing this one. Their stuff is always something I feel like you can get more out of each time you revisit it. As for SKZ, I feel like you should search 'Back Door blindfold version' sometime. It's a very fun watch. I love the Back Door choreo.

There are actually English subtitles for back door, because I’ve watched it with English before. You might need to check the settings on your closed captions. BTS and Halsey are actually really close friends. They even have a secret handshake that you saw a little of in the video. She gave them all friendship bracelets that they still wear, and when they went to LA for the first time after the pandemic Halsey posted a picture the the BTS boys with her baby son and the caption, “Uncle Time”

Lots of talk about OOO, as they deserve, so I'm gonna throw in a different part of them, bc they're definitely (understandably) very known for their concepts, but they're also INCREDIBLE dancers, SO sharp, I would super recommend checking out some of their dance practices. The one for Sage is perhaps one of my favourite of all kpop dance practices, like the MV is very interesting as well, but the dance is So Good, so if you wanna check out more sides to them as well I super recommend that! (I also think your reaction to Skinz is my fave I've seen, your thoughts on it were really interesting!) On a whole other note, SHINee's Key just dropped that he's coming back with what looks like it's gonna be a campy horror album, so I'm tossing in (again, maybe?) Key's Bad Love from last year as an AMAZING song and mv to watch. Lastly, while it's still summer, Stray Kids (Lee Know, Felix and Changbin) Surfin' is an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT, and as a bonus you get to hear Felix and Changbin both sing a lot more than they do in most skz songs (Lee Know amazing also ofc, but we're more used to hearing him sing).

They also have a part switch version, though I wouldn't recommend that for the actual choreography, its more silly (they are kinda bad at it, lol). The art of toning a film or video with color to create a mood or effect is called "color grading". This is the opposite of color correcting (restoring the true color to an image that has an undesirable cast or tint). The most common color grading in film you see is teal shadows and orange highlights for the classic "cinematic" feel. Another popular grading is blue shadow/red highlight for drama or suspense. Sometimes a film will be graded with one color, like a desert scene awash in gold. In Boy With Luv it looks to me like they toned the shadows dark blue, and the highlights/skin tones warm yellow. This really helps with whites. Everyone who tried to put together a white outfit with different brands knows that all whites are not the same. By adding a tiny bit of yellow to all the highlights, the eye just sees white in the video/photo, even though nothing is actually white anymore! Look closely at RM's 'white' suit and you will see the color grading at work. The other thing editors do is 'color matching' - another very important step. For example, the denim costumes might have a dozen different hues of blue (some closer to green, some closer to purple) which can clash. In post production, the video editors will *very slightly* skew all the blues (and yellows, reds, etc) toward a single hue, which creates that even symmetry you noticed. The blues still look different, but appear to be in harmony.

Gfriend may have disbanded but Yerin and Yuju are soloists now and three other members are in the group, Viviz, all worth checking out! Nobody sounds like Onlyoneof it's true. OH MY GOODNESS YES YES!! I am so glad that you reacted to these finally, though I have only seen GFriend's, BTS and Stray Kids MVs but that's okay! For Stray Kids MV dude that is definitely one of my favorites from them they went CRAZY on that song I also loved your reaction to Felix like always just hilarious also at 30:26 I was laughing when I saw that guy in the background I don't know if that was intentional or not but he definitely looked confused, and BTS Boy With Luv will always have a special place in my heart it was my first BTS song plus it's so catchy though I will say the lyrics are a little questionable! And for GFriend they really are such a fantastic Girl Group well they were (there were many bad things that happened last year and part of it was K - Pop and one of the things that happened was that GFriend disbanded out of nowhere even the girls were confused, now a few of them are in another Group, a couple are soloists, and a couple others are acting I think) you should DEFINITELY check out more from them the next song you should check out is Apple you will enjoy it, also just letting you know now them, Loona, and Dreamcatcher have to be the best dancing Groups they are INSANE and super in sync you should check out some Dance Practices! Also here are the Members from Oldest to Youngest: *Sowon* (Leader, Vocalist, and Visual): She was the first girl that you saw who ripped open her outfit to reveal her dress! *Yerin* (Lead Dancer, Vocalist, Center, and Face of the Group): She was one of the ones with the blonde hair, she was the first one who sang! *Eunha* (Lead Vocalist): She also had blonde hair but then she would have the dark bob hair cut! *Yuju* (Main Vocalist): She was the one who was dancing on the pole, she also had the pony tail! *SinB* (Main Dancer, Vocalist, and Center): She was the one with the short bob hair cut who had the red dress! *Umji* (Vocalist, and Maknae): She was the one with the dark longer hair who had the gold dress on! I hope that helped you out a little bit but you should DEFINITELY check out a Guide to them as well you will not be disappointed, and I will say you are going to see A LOT of kissing in this Group (especially from Yerin)! The music is uniq and most of the MV's is heavily LGBTQ+ themed which is unheard of in kpop.... Also!!!
