I really like the fact that the last four at the bonfire: Lauren, Dieter, Stephen, and Trey, are still friends today. I remember when I watched this show as a 15-year old, I really wanted to live in Laguna. I grew up in a big city, which I loved, but the idea of growing up by the beach and in a smaller community sounded amazing. FYI. The Morgan rejection letter was staged. That was a letter to BYU Hawaii. She did go to BYU in Utah.

Some context that's really missing: Kristen said in an interview that she was dating Stephen then they broke up for a while, and that's when Lauren started dating Stephen, then it was after they broke up and Kristen and Stephen got back together that they had started filming Laguna beach. That's why there was such tension between Kristen and Lauren.

Morgan ended up getting into a conditional summer program that year at BYU Utah which allowed her to enroll as a full-fledged student in the fall. It was basically a program where if you got good grades in these “starter” courses, then you officially got into the school. So that storyline actually had a happy ending.

there is technically 3 seasons of laguna beach. Lauren is in the first two seasons but kristen the main focus of the second season. She starts dating jason in season 2 of laguna. Weirdly jason is what got her over stephen. The third season was supposed to be a reboot with Lauren's little sister but it got laguna beach cancelled and the third season did not do well. I think the audience didn't want to follow a new set of high schoolers.

I actually liked the third season. There’s even a fourth one at a totally different school/area, which was okay. Definitely didn’t match to S1 and 2 though.
