She always had her friends back because she was loyal how it was executed you have your opinion and I have mine and it's not changing. Everyone defines friendship in their own unique way and it varies according to perspective. If she had misplaced anger with Heidi it was because Heidi allowed her boyfriend to spread rumors of her best friend and she was complicit and did not intervene but tried to act innocent. If you knew and that was your best friend before he came along why not reach out and talk to her Heidi refused to take accountability and that's what angered her. For Audrina, Lauren tried to make amends as her and Lo weren't getting along but Audrina and her ego refused to listen and make effort because she was hurt. The only time I felt Lauren was out of pocket was when she made Heidi choose and that was much but her anger was valid because she was betrayed.

As a Editor and Producer, I love looking back at my previous projects and seeing how they’re still alive and being viewed on the Internet kept forever. I was Editor on the Hills for many episodes, but this was my favorite scene that I cut. Glad to see it still out there. Little trivia… on that first shot of Lauren’s tear, they really wanted to hold on the shot a little longer, but Lauren blinked and it ruined the edit, to hold on it before she started to blink her eye. In the original Edit I did a subtle digital effect to try to keep her eye open for one more frame so that she didn’t blink right before the cut but the technology at the time caused visual artifacts on the stretch. In the end, a decision was made in the finishing to just include part of the blink. Clearly that blink didn’t ruin the iconic moment, but I would love to clean this up today and make this seem that much more perfect. I have such fond memories working the producers on this groundbreaking show. -Adam DeVillo, Sean Travis, Kris Lindquist, and Bill Langworthy to name a few - - plus an enormously talented pool of editors really made this project special. Taking reality footage and wrapping it beautifully in the style of a narrative is something that is rarely done well and they invented it. One of the keys to make this show and so many other great shows that I’ve worked on like the Osborne’s and my current EP project, Mtv’s Catfish , is the lack of interviews which causes the audience to stay in absolute real time just like you would be in a narrative. Unfortunately networks don’t seem to understand the value of doing a show without interviews every 10 seconds. I think it makes network executives feel more powerless to be able to note and change emotions of what’s going on in a show. It’s the world’s loss that they’re so few non-fiction shows these days that have no interviews driving them. Hopefully as the world goes through another cycle, getting tired of Reality TV, they will wake up and produce more quasi-narrative projects like this.

People just used lauren for the perks they got from being her friend. She actually cares about her friendships and does not take the word lightly like many people do. She's def someone that people don't realize what they have until it's gone. Heidi and audrina would blow her off and put other people before her and once lauren wasn't begging them to hang out and putting the same effort as before they would come running back crying

I feel the same way. That’s nothing compared to real life issues 🤣 Also, I see a bunch of people saying “Lauren is SUCH a good friend” I kind of disagree. It seems like when her friends have their own lives if there is anything that she disagrees with about their lives she rakes them over the coals if they don’t comply with her demands for their lives. She treats it more like a marriage than a friendship. When she said “I go out with you and awkwardly Bob my head at the weird shows” that was really rude. First of all the band Thrice isn’t weird, they’re actually really great. Sorry that your taste in music sucks, Lauren. Also, since when does everyone else’s lives have to revolve around yours? Lauren gets jealous of other people’s relationships and then cuts them off if she feels like they aren’t making enough time for her. Remember the first time she met Justin how she made fun of his name and then nicknamed him Justin Bobby. She didn’t even know him yet. She seems like a needy friend and a stuck up jerk.

Friendship should be more than someone you just have good times with. There should be equal trust, support, effort. That's not happening here. And I get the show was somewhat scripted, but I do believe they were friends in real life. At least Lauren was to Audrina.
