Hate em or call em RIP offs whatever insult you got for them, just know we need to appreciate them bringing that sound back to new ears who may not care about going back and listening to old rock. I bought the original album, "Physical Graffitti", this was released on way back in my senior year. At $11.98, for a double album in 1975, had to work a couple extra days after school for it...and it was well worth it!

@@FiniteRich there are literally hundreds of Bach pieces that dwarf anything from rock, let alone Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Malher, Brahms, and dozens of other classical composers. And then there's jazz!!! Coltrane, Davis, Pederson . . . That said, I LOVE Led Zeppelin!

@Troy Erkenbeck it's only rock and roll but I like it! Fair dues. Stairway is the best song in the world and I remember hearing it for the first time in vynil but I really rate Heart's cover for all the emotional charge of it. I think when you consider context and who is playing the Heart version is a piece of modern art.

Was going to mention that, but it wasn't simply sampled. Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin actually played guitar on Puff's version, while Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine played bass. Page also appeared in the music video. I remember defending that track to some of my friends who didn't like that Puff used the music, because Page actually played on it.
