Yo Coach, it's true, the guitarist, Tony Iommi (the founding member) had his two middle fingertips sliced off in a factory accident. He ended up making up his own prosthetic fingertips using thimbles, melted plastic, and bits of an old leather jacket. He also put banjo strings on his guitar and loosened them to make it less painful to play, which gave him his signature sound and created the Heavy Metal genre. [Edit] While I"m at the top here, let me suggest Thank God For The Bomb by Ozzy Osbourne, if you can sneak by the copyright heathens
@Blackgold11555 жыл бұрын
11bulletcatcher yeah and in that factory accident his fingers were crushed by a slab of heavy metal, which is where the name comes from because this forced him to change his sound.

I read somewhere that he discovered the whole moving power chord idea that became the basis for his sound by watching Johnny Lee Hooker use the technique sparingly in his blues playing.

LMAO Coach. My parents would blast Black Sabbath to wake me in the morning for elementary. They also woke me with Iron Maiden, Dolly Parton, Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, ACDC, Conway Twitty, Micheal Jackson, Queen, Tammy Wynett, Goerge Jones, Dr. Hook, Bon Jovi, the Statler Brothers, Opera like Carmen (my personal fav. Opera), Abba, Janice Joplin, Buddy Holly, Bob Marley, U2, Billie Idle, Beethoven (my fav. is his 5th piano concerto, not symphony, which is great, but the 5th piano concerto.), and so very very many others. My parents had an eclectic taste in music that they fostered that in me. Anyone looking at my playlist would think I was bi-polar or a multiple personality. They taught me that every genre of music has it's epic songs and legendary artists as well as some duds. Never decide that you dislike a genre because of a few songs. I am loving watching you learn the truth of music. It transcends race and culture. Music speaks to the soul. Souls don't care about race or religion. Souls identify beauty in all forms. As does music.

Coach, my challenge to you is as follows: 1)DO NOT RESEARCH WHAT S AND M IS It is vital we (Nolifegang) see your reaction when you see on screen what it is. I'll confirm, to save to doubting this, that s and m is the real awesome metallica AND it is live. I won't say anymore on the topic of s and m. COMMENTERS BELOW DON'T say what it is. 2) Next cavet is there's two songs to react too, but they must be in the one video ie. At the end of the first reaction get straight to the second... You get my drift. See I need your adrenaline sky high for the second one. The two songs you must react two whilst obeying the two above rules are: Metallica S and M live - No Leaf Clover Metallica S and M live - Battery No Life Gang, y'all got two things to do, don't mention below what s and m is AND UPVOTE THE SHIT OUT OF THIS SO SHAQ HEARS US!!!!

Ronnie James Dio was an awesome story teller. He was a great teacher of human behavior. And an awesome human being. One of the best singers of rock and roll and metal ever !

Tony Jimmie lost his fingers on his last day of work in a factory. So he made finger extension to play guitar.

At the age of 17, Iommi lost the tips of the middle and ring fingers of his right hand in an industrial accident on his last day of work in a sheet metal factory. ... After the injury Iommi considered abandoning the guitar entirely.

" Heaven and Hell " was released back in 1980. From " Neon Knights " to the ending crescendos of " Lonely Is the Word ", You will be as hard - pressed to pry yourself away from your headphones as I was when I first heard this album when it was first released when I was a preteen in school. Hearing this song echoing down the hall from those hallowed ghetto blasters when Tony hit those descending notes on his guitar was nothing short of an ear - bleeding masterpiece. Now, I just crank it up past 11 on my machine into my headphones whenever I feel the need for real metal. As a Sabbath fan, Check out Black Sabbath's live shows for their farewell tour, " The End ". They perform all of their Ozzy - era classic tunes, Including " War Pigs ", In their shows. They started the tour in Omaha, Nebraska back in February 2017. They ended their metal careers in the place where it all started... Birmingham, England ( 2018 ). Their best gig , In my opinion, Was in Moscow in 2017. Though Dio had better pipes than Ozzy, No one could ever do a live gig better than Ozzy. As a closer, Check out their last full length studio album, Simply entitled, " 13 " ( 2013 ). Listen to the song, " End Of The Beginning ". The lyrics of that song are as relevant today as they lyrics of " War Pigs " was when it was first released back in 1971. In fact, I challenge you to put the stories of those two songs together in your reaction. May God totally and richly bless you on your discoveries of your new found metal journey. P.S.: Bill Ward - Drums Terrence " Geezer " Butler - Bass Tony Iommi - Guitar Ronnie James Dio ( 1980 - 1982 ): Vocals
