It’s because all of this music was recorded on a magical thing called tape and human feel that makes this song so good and no auto tune also makes the vocals sound warm and bright expecially that he’s basically whispering it’s just the magic of human feel and computers cannot replace a human feel full stop that’s why I wish people recorded on tape without auto tune and computers replacing and time allinging things that’s the reason why this era of music is so magical and warm sounded because of analog mixing boards and tape

Also another thing is that this is a band not an artist like these days drake and people like that get songs written for them now and they just have to mumble it and Chuck on auto tune and everyone does the rest for them unlike these people are musicians and they play their own instruments and they can call songs like this can call songs their own so they just try harder in to make them sound good

@@ViolentGenius Remember this album came out when Tolkien was still alive, and like I said the names of 4 of the songs on that album are direct Tolkien references. Then it was revealed by Plant that yes he had received an early copy of a book of songs from Tolkien (possibly Christopher who was a huge fan) in early 1970. Every reference in the song ties directly to Galadriel. Plant has only stated the song is about the longing for the peace in the west. Knowing how big a fan of Tolkien's writing Robert Plant is, and that he had access to stories and songs not published until after JRR Tolkien's passing. Combined with the known relationship between him and Christopher Tolkien, and it all falls into place. The issue is when this was released the Simillirion had not yet been published, yet it contains references ONLY available in that book.

I love how he wants the lyrics to every song he feels. I grew up a huge variety of music from oldies to rock, rap, to metal to, reggae ECT. Infact I passed this characteristic onto my 15 yr old daughter who I raised on a variety of my music era and she has to has to go get her fix at least 3 times a day before school after school and before bed she'll grab her headphones and I pad and swing on the patio swing for 20-30 min listening to whatever she's in the mood for that day or time and does NOT! Want to be Interrupted as she wants to get lost in her music. Which blows my mind because when I reached my early teens I would come home from school grab a handful of my favorite c.ds plugged my headphones into the radio and payed on my bed in the dark for a hour. I never told her this and yet she is completely like me in her love for music. If I feel it in my soul than I'm completely sold. Music has been one of the most important influences in my life and I find myself getting drawn to rock the most at this point in time at age 36. Nothing touches me more than the lyrics to all of my favorite rock songs especially because 90percent of my favorite rock artist wrote there own shit that's a true artists no ghost writing just pure raw emotion . Alot of Ppl assume it's just loud screaming and guitar and drums but the lyrics are the key to it all. Depending on what I'm going thru in life when I hear it . I remember hearing this song exact song your playing now after getting sober and my body, mind, and soul was clearing from the fog of yrs of past drug abuse and though I had heard it a million times in my life, it had never sounded more beautiful and made more sense than at that moment in time. I remember I in the car with the windows down and the cool air hitting my face and I just had a stream of all kinds of repressed emotions come thru me and tears were streaming down my face.I cant explain it but I don't need to the music does that for me and I respect anybody who is un- biased to any type of music like this dude here he can see it from a new different angle for the meaning and the words not just a hook and a beat like some present Day cliche bubble gum music without substance. I use to read all the lyrics to any rock song that I felt connected to in some way and once I read the lyrics it trips me out how I can relate to it, In fact it's because of that reason that I litteraly have hundreds of thousands of songs (no joke) memorized in my head.every deep song that affects me and let me tell you it's alot of music in my head It doesn't matter if I first heard it 1,10 or 20 yrs ago once I feel it and read the lyrics it's locked into my brain and soul like a safe locked for life.

The woman thinks she can buy her way into heaven, as it has worked for her so far. Words have two meanings, ex. a poor person goes to the store with a sign that says it's closed, they cannot gain access, but a rich person can get that store to open back up for their purchase. There are two paths in the bible one is heavily trodden, one is narrow, the narrow road leads to heaven. The "Piper" leads those down the wide and heavily trodden road and the "whisper" leads to the narrow road. But there is always time to change the road you take in life. The Piper is TV, social media, politicians, etc telling you how you should feel, act, about things. The whisper is that thing in your head/heart that talks to you before you do something. Remember when you were a child, before you knew the law, before you did something like thought about stealing a sucker you had that thing inside you telling you it was wrong and noone had to tell you, that is the whisper.

A better explanation for the lyrics than Robert Plants? Perhaps. In an interview ashen asked what the lyrics meant he said it depended on which day you asked him. I love your explanation but I'm not sue that Plant himself put this much thought into the song Jimmy Page wrote the music to the song first and he said Robert Plant wrote 90% of the lyrics in twenty minutes. They we're both musical genuises 💖

This song has roots in pagan stories and legends of the fae (faeryfolk). In much of Europe, people believed (and some still do, I suppose) that there were all kinds of magical creatures, good, bad, and otherwise, (fairies, goblins, trolls, etc.) that lived in a separate land that humans could never find... and were responsible for all kinds of unusual things. Very interesting stuff to look into if you have any interest in stories, legends, and mythology. Just imagine how interesting and confusing the world would be if everyone you interacted with believed in this stuff! For the record, 'pagan' means just about every non-judeochristian european religion- Norse and Celtic for example are a couple of the more well known pagan belief systems, but just about every region had it's own sets of legends and beliefs, some unique, some overlapped. Many stories got co-opted into christianity to ease pagans into conversion with familiarity, as well as turned into childrens stories and fairy tales to pass on things like morals and life lessons. Acid just makes it all that much more interesting, lol.

You need to do a reaction to Ann and Nancy Wilson of HEART doing Stair Way To Heaven at the Kennedy Center honoring Led Zeppelin. Jason Bonham, the son of he late John Bonham is on drums and Barack and Michelle Obama are in attendance. This performance has been compared to the original version and it stands alone for it's greatness. You should see the reactions of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones as well as the rest. This song came out when I was in Jr. high school and it blew me away. It is on the first album I ever bought as a kid. Aside from the meaning, the lyrics in this song (and so many other great hits from that time) evoke images in your mind that no music video could ever recreate As far as the lyrics go, I’ve always viewed the song as a woman who had beauty and privilege who thought she could buy her way into heaven using her wealth, beauty and charm. She learns along the way that her wealth and physical beauty cannot get her in to heaven and she is on the wrong path. She listens and learns that there is a different currency, another kind of gold, that has nothing to do earthly wealth and there is still time to change paths and find her way into heaven. No matter the intended meaning, the way the song builds from a guitar and recorders playing softly and slowly to the chest thumping rock near the end coupled with the lyrics are worth listening to over and again while contemplating the meaning it all has to you. thank you for your reaction. When your video started and you could not see the lyrics I thought there was no chance you would be able to feel the full impact of those words. I very much appreciate that you cared enough to stop and get the lyrics. Thanks again.
