Love how Robert talks to the crowd while Jimmy and JPJ change instruments!

Knebworth and the 1980 concerts proved to me that Zeppelin still had great things ahead of them. If only things had gone different.

Sadly I think if Bonham hadn't died, Jimmy would have succumbed because of his heroin habit. They were unable to co-ordinate to produce the same quality albums by the end because of Jimmy's and Bonzo's habits. Even after Zeppelin ended it took other friends of Jimmy's to make him see how badly affected he was and come out of that.

Been a Zep fan since 71 and to me Zep was getting better. My favorite album is In Through The Out Door. And Presence is way up there. I think people are too fixated on trying to say they weren't as good. I saw them live in 73 and 75 and 77 and my favorite concerts were 77. Particularly Page how he was kneeling on one knee etc.

@@davidadams5280 I didn't say they weren't good then. Particularly up to 77 and at Knebworth in 79 they were great. I just read what some band members said about the band and the recording of albums at that their later stages, in retrospect. The albums you liked more were more influenced by JPJ at that stage.

@@heliotropezzz333 indeed. Yes, I have read extensively about the band and that always comes up: Jimmy was pretty much AWOL for ITTOD sessions and came in late at night to put in his overdubs. The close connection onstage between Jimmy and Robert had frayed terribly. There were dark emotions tearing at The fabric of their once close camaraderie. It wasn’t just how you think their music still sounded good. It was all the underlying issues.

You snuck this longer version in, I’m glad you found one. Some think other guitarists are the greatest, I have for decades, & will always think Jimmy Page is. No other band has this many great songs, & especially so many different genres, & these four geniuses pull them all off. Thank you again for your reaction.

This concert was so important to Led Zeppelin. They needed to prove to themselves and perhaps fans that they were still relevant and as good as ever. When I hear Robert using his voice to mimic Jimmy’s guitar, I think of an interview I saw with Terry Reid. He was Jimmy’s first choice as lead singer, as you know, and recommended Robert. Terry said that when he saw Robert perform with Band of Joy, he noticed that Robert used his voice to make all kinds of sounds and especially liked mimicking the lead guitar. He thought, now this boy will have plenty of that with Jimmy. Jimmy will keep him busy. Yes, Robert and Jimmy loved playing off one another and often would try to fake out the other just for fun. Great video. Thanks again for showcasing the music of my youth. The one, the only, Led Zeppelin ♥️

I have heard of Terry Reid before, a friend from work introduced me to him, i like his song seed of memory, i heard page wanted to form the band as soon as possible and had him in mind first but reid was opening for the stones, so they decided to go with robert plant instead, correct me if im wrong

Thanks for your reactions, brings joy each time especially with LZ. Hard to believe they were considered washed up dinosaurs at this stage and this was the concert to prove they could still rock and be relevant just ten years basically after their first album. Apparently according to various reports there were 120,000 plus in attendance

Yes i did, ofc i could have worded it better but how could it not be mind blowing? have you ever tried playing guitar standing up and moving around especially in front of people with stage fright? Its not easy lol and the fact he’s doing all that while hopping around with one leg, shaking his shoulders, sometimes leaning over its unreal 🤯
@helenespaulding7562
@helenespaulding7562 2 ай бұрын
@@ToMitoReacts1017 I was pulling your leg. The way you said it just sounded funny. I knew what you meant Dozens of great rock guitarists have stood and walked and played. But Jimmy was one of the most charismatic guitar players I’ve ever seen. Jimmy and Hendrix. His movements were graceful and mesmerizing to watch. He was VERY conscious of creating a stage persona… He knew the importance of visual impact in live shows so he developed the “rock god” stage persona, which can be seen at its height in 1973 and 1975 performances. Yeah, his jumping, his dance movements….but what has always mesmerized me are his graceful arm movements that he does sometimes between chords. In My Time of Dying at Earls Court 1975 is the height of that I think. I think of Zep as basically having two frontmen. Your attention was inevitably drawn to Page or Plant.
