But by the time I was old enough to understand the meaning of the sounds he was making, I was old enough to understand the meaning of the song as a whole.

This song actually was one of very few singles released, & was played on the radio. As you’ve been told before, all their songs are amazing, I personally prefer the lives. They usually add more to the live performances, longer solos, & Robert adds some extra lyrics. They loved preforming live, & they loved their fans. The song The Ocean, is about their fans, looking out at all the people is like looking at the ocean. The fans applauding & cheering, is the roar of the ocean. Keep reacting to Led Zeppelin, the more you do, the more you’ll love them.

This is their biggest and most popular song. Zeppelin never did singles but, did release two in the states early on. One was Immigrant Song and the. other was this. I remember in 6th grade listening to the radio before school one morning and this song came on. I know my mom heard it but, did not say anything. My parents never got crazy about songs we heard even when we were in grade school. My parents were really cool when it came to music. We just did not have censorship in my house. But, then my brother and mom and myself - when we were jr. high or so - would discuss topics of the day. Talk about Watergate, etc. We were raised to think.

After Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980 after the premature death of their drummer, John Bonham. And after the release of LZ's "Coda" album in 1982. Robert Plant formed an adhoc group called, "The Honey Drippers" which in 1984 recorded an EP (Extended Play) record of old blues rock tunes. Their hit song, "Sea of Love" re-popularized Plant. Though it was not a rock song, but more of a "crooner" love song, and Jimmy Page played the lead guitar solo on it. Plant also sang another tune called "Young Boy Blues".

Great reaction! And I haven't seen this particular video before. I note that it is using the studio version rather than a live version. There is also a shorter radio edited version which cuts out Plant's orgasmic moaning. Fun fact: in 1977 Led Zeppelin entered the Guinness Book of World Records for having the largest concert attendance for a single Act at the sold out Silverdome stadium in Michigan at a record attendance of 76,229. BTW I recall seeing a YT video of an 8yo girl who was trying very hard to understand the lyrics to Whole Lotta Love. Thankfully it went way over her young head! I think it was from the "Kids React to Led Zeppelin" channel. Growing up in the 1970's my older brother had all the LZ albums. So it was a great musical experience for me. I think he also had all the Pink Floyd and Deep Purple records too. IMHO Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" song is the most perfect rock song ever recorded. Whereas "Stairway..." would be the most perfect rock ballad ever recorded. But "Whole Lotta Love" has the killer riffs for a great rock song! Still I prefer "Black Dog" and "Immigrant Song" over Whole Lotta Love. Their other tunes worth checking out are, "D'yer Mak'er", and "Going to California" and "The Battle of Evermore". And of course Heart's 2012 cover of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors is a must watch. Heart's lead singer, Ann Wilson is long considered to be the female version of Robert Plant. And just recently at age 73, she sang their signature rock song, "Barracuda" at "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon", and also plan on Touring this year.
