SHINee's "Replay," which came out May 25, 2008, is literally considered one of the best debut songs of all time for any Kpop artist because it's so timeless and it never goes out of style or sounds outdated no matter how old it gets. And this is why SHINee are Icons. This song actually came out more than 16 years ago, however, SM Entertainment rebranded itself and started its new KZbin channel in 2011. The company reuploaded most of their older videos at that time. So, all their older MVs and content have a 2011 or newer date, but could be much older than that. You're lucky you are watching this MV after SM Entertainment remastered it, because now it has English subtitles. "Replay" isn't just nostalgic, it's legendary. And SHINee are legends. Every new rookie group in the industry has covered "Replay" at least once in their career and it's one of those songs that is pretty much compulsory for everyone to know and learn, even still today. And, yes, of course SHINee can sing. As an SM group, you shouldn't expect any less. You can't be SM artists without having amazing vocal abilities. Even SM's rappers get intense vocal training. That is why SM is considered the vocal powerhouse of the industry, because ALL of its artists have out-of-this-world vocal abilities. And not only are all the members of SHINee amazing singers, but they are the original vocal kings. EXO now may be considered "the vocal kings of Kpop", but SHINee were the ones that showed the industry what it meant to be vocalists. From day one, Onew and Jonghyun have been two of the top vocalists in the entire industry, and SHINee as a group make up one of the best vocal groups of all time. Onew is the one in the hat, Jonghyun is the one with the headphones, Key is the one in green, Minho is the one playing basketball (he is always the tallest member) and Taemin is the one in yellow. Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and a songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14. However, now SHINee are known for the fact that there are no longer any fixed roles in their group. The main vocalists can rap, the rappers can fill in as main vocalists and they're all impressive dancers. SHINee are some of the most well-respected artists in the industry. The Noona (the older girl SHINee have a crush on that they are singing to) in the "Replay" MV is the leader of their sister group***, Victoria from F(x). This MV came out more than a year before F(X) debuted, so this was Victoria even before debut. (Funny thing is, Victoria is native Chinese and she says she was still learning Korean during this time and she could barely even say SHINee.) Victoria was so perfect in this role because she is a few years older than any of the SHINee members so she fit well as the lead actress in this MV. As the song says, 'Noona neomu yeppeo .... replay, replay, replay ...." In other words, they are saying "pretty older woman I really like you and I think you like me too ... every time I see you, I need a replay of the moment over and over again in my head." Noona neomu yeppeo is a Korean term that essentially means "Pretty older woman" Noona neomu yeppeo is a term that is only used by guys to describe a beautiful woman that is older than them. There really isn't a literal translation of the term, so that is why the song is called "Replay" in English. But in Korean it is called "Noona neomu yeppeo." That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs, the older women in the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them, even still today. This song makes all the women swoon. (Even 15 years later, when Taemin recently appeared on The Manager reality show, the female hosts of the show asked him to sing "Replay" to them.) ***SHINee and F(x) are both SM Entertainment groups, they debuted within a year of each other, they both are 5 member groups (Now 4 member groups ;( ) and they have similar music styles and concepts, etc. F(x) is pretty much the female version of SHINee. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. They are always setting trends, never following them. SHINee were designed to be SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to create the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's supposed to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. They reinvent the industry with every new release. Fun fact: SM originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group. Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular when they debuted. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag they needed in order to be taken seriously as a hip-hop group. So, right before their debut, SM switched up their sound and style to "Replay," and the SHINee members spent a few intense weeks working on their vocal abilities in order to be able to match the skills needed for a vocal heavy song like this. And the rest is history. As you just heard, this is SHINee's signature classic contemporary R&B vocals they are now known for. As you can see by their "Replay" MV, even at 14, Taemin was one of the best dancers in Kpop, and you will soon discover with the more that you watch from SHINee and Taemin's solo work, that he has only gotten more magnificent over the years. SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. From day one they became known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. When they debuted they were one of the only groups who were singing live while performing this intense choreography. And everyone was so shocked with their abilities. The ONLY thing the SHINee members are not good at is lip syncing, therefore, they avoid it at all costs. When you hear SHINee singing, 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. So, unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to build endurance and stamina in order to be able to sing live and continue to sound flawless while performing like this for more than 3 hours straight in concert. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach. You should also check out SHINee's "Replay" dance practice. It's not an official dance practice video because dance practice videos didn't become a thing until 2010 when SHINee released the very first dance practice video for their song "Lucifer," but it is a real dance practice video from way back to SHINee's debut days. SHINee are the reason why Kpop groups produce dance practice/choreography videos today. SHINee just recently talked about how they spent months as trainees practicing this choreography in order to get it down perfectly. During Taemin's recent appearance on The Manager, we see all 4 of the SHINee members in the dance studio practicing for their "Hard" comeback last year, as well as their concert performance, and they talk about what it was like when they were trainees learning the dance.

100% Nunew really did save Zee from a very dark place. He was treated very badly by anti-fans before meeting Nunew due to a different pairing in his previous BL drama, to the point he was losing endorsement deals and people were boycotting his events, etc. Anti-fans delusionally accused Zee of coming between his Why R U? partner, Saint, and Saint's previous partner. He was being accused of horrible things and he became very depressed. He even felt the need to apologize to fans for "disappointing them" when he had done nothing wrong and had nothing to do with the situation. Before Nunew, Zee even told P'Aof that he didn't want to be in the BL industry anymore and he even almost stopped acting all together, saying he was going to step away from the spotlight, planning on becoming a producer and director. But when he saw Nunew for the first time something just told him that Nunew was a star -- even though Nunew had never acted before and was brand new to the entertainment industry. Zee says he just felt like he needed to get to know Nunew. It was like love at first sight. Instantly changing his mind, Zee told P'Aof that he would try one more time with the project that P'Aof wanted him to be involved in, Cutie Pie Series, IF Nunew, and only Nunew, was his partner. Nunew was originally supposed to be paired with a different Domundi actor. But Zee changed all that with his Pruk-destiny, and the rest is history. ZeeNunew were meant to be and they are probably one of the best things that have ever happened to each other.

I so hope you will look more into Shinee. They have incredible voices. Truly some of the best vocals you will hear from modern Kpop artists. I would check out onew and jonghyun's "Please don't go". or for something more up best, check out "Sherlock" live. you will not be disapointed

Omg Zeenunew, Maxnat AND SHINee?!?!? Replay is still such a good song years later and still one of the best and well known kpop songs. Shinee literally never misses, so many of their songs are iconic. I actually got into Maxnat before I knew znn which is weird since it's usually the other way around. I didn't watch cutiepie first so i guess thats why. The cuteness aggression Max goes through every time Nat acts cute is so funny to me lol. Also the thirst trap counter is hilarious 😭😭😭😭For me, they don't give the big bro little bro energy, I feel like they are closer than that. But they also don't give couple energy either, they're somewhere in between for me! Omg when Nat had the second love interest for Two Worlds, (his name was Gun I think) Max was literally all over Nat in the interviews and he kept bickering with Gun it was too funny lol. Zee and nunew are so cute, every time they talk about each other I feel like I'm third wheeling 🥲Their interview is so cute, I like seeing their transparency when answering the questions. I'm not too familiar with WHYRU or the ZeeSaint ship, but I do know that it seems nunew helped zee a lot through that tough time when they first paired up which is super sweet. Their photobooks are always sooooo cute. A lot of people said it gives off honeymoon vibes and I totally agree.

As mentioned, Max and Nat have a 9 year age gap just like Zee and Nunew, but Max is a year younger than Zee and Nat is a year younger than Nunew. Max is currently 30 and Nat is 21. (Zee is 31 and Nunew is 22) Max and Nat just celebrated their 5th anniversary since becoming an official ship (they've been together for almost three years before ZeeNunew became a couple) and their new drama Two Worlds, which just finished airing, is the 6th project they have done together where they play a couple. They have also participated in smaller ad campaign drama projects and things where they play a couple. Their two projects so far where they play the main characters are Naughty Babe, which is a companion drama to Cutie Pie Series, (with ZeeNunew) that follows the story of their characters Yi and Diao from Cutie Pie Series and they just finished the Thai BL drama Two Worlds where they play the main characters. (In their other dramas they play the second couple or a side couple.) Max and Zee are best friends and Nat and Nunew are best friends. MaxNat and ZeeNunew have a lot in common. When MaxNat first became a BL couple, Nat was only about 17 years old so they were restricted from doing love scenes, and kissing scenes were very limited because Nat was too young. However, Nat is an adult now, so there are no more restrictions -- their love scenes are very spicy. ;P.

SHINee is pronounced like Shiny, it's a combination of SHINE with the suffix ee, and it means "those receiving the light". SHINee are LEGENDARY. It's not close to a stretch to say that they changed k-pop and made it what it is today. they are known as The princes of k-pop and are still going strong today.

I always say, I think Zee doesn't like fan service (he's also said he doesn't like it) and it's deep rooted in the amount of hate he received mainly due to how parasocial fan service makes fans. He got a load of hate just because he "broke up Saint's original pair" to the point of death threats in real life too (placing a coffin in his mail box) and to his family (not only online). It makes sense why he would hate fate service.

Can I just say, some of the Young Royals subtitles were so funny to me. Like, whoever/whatever translated it translated ‘sosse’ to ‘sociopath’ (if I had to translate to one word in English, I’d personally translate it to ‘socialist’), and there were a bunch of other little mistakes like that that were just unreasonably funny to me.

Whoever wrote Key's profile did him dirty. He has master's degree AND additional bachelor's degree (in fashion and film, if I remember correctly?). All SHINee members have master's degrees. Also Minho's fans are called "flamers", not "flames".

@@ambercloud Not your fault! Those profiles are commonly used by K-pop fans to learn some fun facts about the artists and it’s totally fine to use them. But there can be errors or stuff left out, if you’re not a fan or don’t know them (well) it would be hard to recognize how accurate they are.

Kind of surprised by how vindictive the Young Royals fandom is about August. Yes, what he did was extremely messed up and possibly unforgivable. But he did it in a fit of rage after Wilhelm had humiliated him by telling all of his friends that he was completely broke. And he regrets it immediately after he's done it and spends the next two seasons mostly trying to apologise to Wilhelm, redeem himself and feel better about himself as a person (obviously he has missteps and does more messed up stuff in the interest of protecting himself, but that's just a realistic and well-written arc). He's a very complicated character. He's obsessed with being the best, he's got a terrible self-image, he's probably haunted by his father's suicide, he has an eating disorder, he hates himself for what he did to Wilhelm. But he doesn't lose. He and Wilhelm do finally reach an understanding at the last school party, and he gets what he always wanted in becoming the heir to the throne. He's always wanted the responsibility of being royalty - not because he's obsessed with power or selfish, but because he considers it a huge honour, he's trained extensively for it, and he would be good at it. Obviously in season 1 I despised August, but I honestly just spent the rest of the show feeling sorry for him.

I would recommend the once said edits but they’re just too short, if you have any compilations and things that are longer then 5 minutes and shorter then 30 minutes I’m open to maybe requesting them for later months! It’s actually been hard trying to pick videos bc there’s no in between with critrole it’s either 1 minute or it’s 3 hours of compilations 😂 but I’m so glad that someone else is enjoying Todd reacting to them because I feel like I’m the only one who does since no one else engages with it 😂

I have been following Todd for many years since he started Dr Who edit reactions and was struck by joy when i saw CR reactions, i have been wanting for him to watch since he reacted D20 ones so these are wonderful.
