I recommend watching the acoustic version of Save Me, it's on mamamoo+ own channel. The meaning they gave us on Save Me, is that's someone missing their ex, but the one who broke up is the one singing it. Some other information: Save me was written and composed by Giuk (from Onewe) and Moonbyul; I like this (on it's original form), was one of the options for MAMAMOO's debut song alongside Mr. Ambiguous, but was heavily rearranged for this album; Dangdang was supposed to be the title track for Yellow Flower, but as Solar was suffering a lot of pain from a herniated disk at the time, she wouldn't be able to handle the choreo, so they went with Starry Night instead, but Moonbyul liked the song so much that she hold on to it and then asked to use it for this album; The fans asked them to change the lyrics from "shy boy" to "shy girl" on dangdang, so in their first 2 music show's performances they use the original and for the last 2 they used the rerecorded version with "shy girl".

Save Me was actually originated by Moonbyul’s list of title of songs she already prepared for the unit ( she get all the title she wanted to write ready ) and one of them is “If I left alone on earth”. She suggested it to the PD and the PD suggested Giuk of Onewe to try to write it (the theme earth is his things) and Byul agreed and she wrote her part too. Giuk and Byul also co-composed the song along with JeonDa Woon ( one of the producer for Byul’s Shutdown)

Apparently "I Like This" was originally written and composed before Mamamoo's debut, which is probably why it has that more retro vibe like a lot of their earlier music

The choreographer is JJ from One Million. There is a clip with Solar and Moonbyul learning the choreo and then JJ riding herd on the huge crowd of dancers at the One Million studio. JJ is the blond woman on Solar's left at the end of the performance vid. Their music show appearances with Dang Dang are great. Love the fanchant. In a fan meet on the day of release fans expressed disappointment that it was "shy boy" rather then "shy girl". Solar spent the night in the studion rerecording it that way so the music show performances are half "shy boy" and half "shy girl". I'm wondering about Solar's choice to use so much breath in Dang Dang? Possibly becaus she first heard it as a proposed Mamamoo song and wanted the breathiness that Wheein normally provides?

The choreography is made by JJ which the blonde girl next Solar, she's from 1milion studio and she also choreographed Ggbb and Honey. She and Solar have also a dance video on solarsido, I think they are friends since Hip video because of Kim from 1M who made their choreography for Hip and then Aya

I Like This is a song that reminds me of when I'm walking outside in front of reflective windows and think to myself: "I totally rock!". 😂 I agree about it needing to be performed to reach it's full potential. My only complaint about the tour was the lack of a live band and well we were lucky they even came to the US so it is what it is.

I like starry sea the most from this album. Perfect song for driving in traffic on the way home. Just blast it all the way up make the drive a lot more bearable; it just has this calming effect. Especially love the part they harmonize together Its funny how u mention the pandemic coz thats what i thought too. Byul thought abt the title a long time ago n if she thought abt it during pandemic her rap has more impact: 365 days and another That is the earth w/out you Spring summer fall winter Seoul w/out season (Seoul does hv 4 seasons so its implying how smth thats supposed to be there is not. If she thought this during the pandemics it could mean the moomoos. Coz they cant hv audience during pandemic. Oops I'm 3 weeks late hehe About Dangdang MV if you pay attention there's a lot of references to Alice in Wonderland: the clock at the beginning referencing the white rabbit, the camping tent becoming small (on the comeback stage they even had a video drinking colorful liquids that make them pass out and wake up on stage, a clear reference of Alice changing her height) and of course the tea party. I probably missed some references but i those are the main ones i think. And about the lyrics, you're probably right about the song being about a young crush, I've seen a korean streamer reacting to the song and she said there's some korean children's songs being used in the lyrics ("the school bell rings" is an example if i remember correctly). There's a Twit reference during Moonbyul's rap too. I really recommend you watch any live stage of this song, you can tell they're having so much fun. I personally love the one using the rich milfs outfit (Music Bank 230804) the most, they were smiling the whole time and looked so pretty. They sang "shy boy" on MCountdown and Music Bank and then changed to "shy girl" for Music Core and Inkigayo. Ooh and you should definitely check the acoustic version of Save Me, it's way better than the official song to be honest, i actually had to listen to the live version to start liking the song hahaha I think they processed too much the recorded song when there's no need for doing it so the live version with the acoustic guitar only sounds clearer in my opinion. I Like This is my least favorite song in the album, they haven't performed it live yet but i hope they will on the tour so i can see if i like it more or not hahaha

Always lovely to see you react to Mamamoo! I fell down the rabbit hole at a similar time as you, I remember watching along with you lol. What Moonbyul is down for has definitely changed a bit, as it has all of them in different ways I think (its not present here, but its always funny in comment sections to see fans just keep repeating stuff that hasnt been true for years, like ‘no lip syncing’). Dunno about the dancing, but Solar is definitely very hands on with everything in the subunit - Byul has mentioned a few times mostly leaving it to her.

If I'm not misremembering, sometime last year? Byul said she previously disliked hip movements cause it hurt due to an injury. I feel like she also gotten more softer/feminine now. Starry Sea is my fav track and to me it looks like the prequel to Starry Night.

Despite being confused about some of the songs. you enjoyed them. For me, unless the song is really poor, I am not bothered about the songs meaning too much. The melody and instrumentation is what really counts. This is why even though songs are not sung in English, in most cases, it does not matter.
