Stray Kids fandom is called “Stay.” You’ll notice at the end of every video it says, “Stray Kids everywhere all around the world, you make Stay Kids Stay.” Stray Kids love their fans a lot. Welcome baby Stay! You might want to react to a guide to Stray Kids as well, so you can learn the members names and get some back story. This is another difference from western music. We don’t actually care what Justin Timberlake’s back story is, but in Kpop you get to know the members on an individual basis. You care about Bang Chan’s mum and sister in Australia. And as much as possible the artists also care about the individual fans.

You actually noticed something that is a "hidden hallmark" of the whole K-Pop system (regardless if the specific genre is more classic poppy, or more hip hop-py, or club sound-y) - group dynamics. Groups are typically from 4-8 members, with different sets of talents, and productionwise they usually try to give everyone their place to shine in a song, through varying the speed and melodies and whole composition - tailored to the strengths of their individual members. That's somewhat unusual in western style of music. SKZ takes this concept to the edge with frequent changes.

I like that you said they all shine equally. They do various shows where they talk about their relationships, and hyunjin said recently that just "hyunjin" makes him feel small, he hopes to always be "stray kids's hyunjin" because it means he's part of something so much bigger than himself. That really touched my heart when i saw him saying that

Are you gonna watch with subtitles? Sometimes I watch it first then go back and watch again with subtitles. Even if you don’t react with subtitles, it’s important to watch at least sometime! They’re lyrics hit very very deep sometimes.

Yes! Going forward I will put subtitles on! I think that’s a great shout:) I’ve just been blown away visually and sonically that I didn’t even think about the lyrics. Impressive stuff!

Stray kids have a lot of music videos for their b-sides, their earlier songs used to focus a lot on the lyrics and rap, they had some experimental songs but they became more known for beat switches like 2 years into their career after a member left and they sort of debuted again: 2018-2019 Stray kids is mainly about finding themselves and youth, 2020-current Stray kids is about being yourself no matter and celebrating differences. They've received hard criticism for their music as being "too noisy, pots and pans" and they've embraced it as part of their image, of course they have ballads and slower songs too. In my opinion the best way to experience their music would be doing album listens, just listen to a full album and go through the music videos and fans do color-coded lyrics for the songs without videos. Something interesting they do is that the day before they release an album there's a video released called INTRO in which they go through each song and some of the ideas and the process of creating the album, lately those intro videos have become longer and have multiple parts for the dance practice and the recording process in the studio too, those are always fun. Thank you for the reaction.
@sibylline7220

Great suggestion to do the intro and then an album listen with the MVs and lyrics videos. Many B-side MVs, including some teasers, are still lore heavy and just as important as the title tracks!

Fun fact about the spotlights, that scene was filmed on the main river in Seoul and many koreans posted online saying “what’s going on over there?” It wasn’t til a while later we found out it was for this mv. Felix wasn’t kidding when he said “they wonder how my spotlight is so bright” haha
@lella1213

You are right, the production value is amazing, for the music and MV as well. They put two barges together and filmed in the middle of the Han river. There are pictures taken from far away that captured the impressive light display during filming. The fire and fireworks in the MV are real as well. Stray Kids releases a behind the scene for a lot of their MVs that show the directing and making of the video, it’s very interesting, I recommend it. If I recall correctly this one took four days to film. You must watch their MVs several times to catch all the details, for example the car dropping in the background, and of course the fantastic editing and transitions. Kpop in general gives a lot of value to the production of MVs and choreography, and Stray Kids are one of the best in the industry. What you see of the choreo is just a small part of it, they prepare a full choreography for all the songs they perform, I strongly recommend watching their dance practice for each song after you watch the MV. Love to see your Stray Kids journey, they are truly talented artists. You will see that once you hear their first pre-debut song Hellevator, even in 2017 they were already amazing.

FYI - Stray Kids love to hide little Easter eggs in some (but not all) of their videos - references to other songs and M/Vs of theirs, to iconic scenes from some of their VLives or other appearances.....to their debut date and debut song.....etc. They also make a lot of references to action movies, anime series and video games in their songs and M/Vs. The fans love to hunt through their videos to find those things. So in the scene @2:17 on your video, where Hyunjin is standing in front of the mirror and it breaks, there are several Easter eggs in that alley. The chef holding a cake is a reference to their song and video for God's Menu......the blue floating goblin fire is a reference to their song and video for Thunderous.....etc. In any of their videos that has a clock, it's just about always set to the time 3.25, which is a reference to their debut date - 3/25/2018. At least one of their videos has a scene where a member is talking into a shoe.......that's a reference to an old episode of Chan's Room, where Han was talking into a shoe. In the LaLaLaLa M/V, there's a scene with a bus.......the bus is not only a Batman The Dark Knight reference, but the side of the bus says DISTRICT 325. That's a reference to their debut date (again, 3/25/2018) and their debut song (called "District 9"). So......fun stuff like that!!
@WhiteCollarRhymes

I love a good Easter egg and that makes perfect sense! There’s soooo much to take in so it’s hard to get my point across after one initial watch/listen - I’ll definitely be going back to the videos again and again. Thank you for watching! 🖤

@@WhiteCollarRhymesI don't think anyone can expect you to take everything in with the first listen 😊 I know I can't! When new songs pop up, I usually first take in the music and video if there is one, and then go back and focus more on the lyrics. But honestly most of their MV's can take several watches before you "get " it all, because there is always SO much going on! 😂❤ Loved your reaction. I think the most important thing is just to enjoy the music. I'm sure you'll get the lore bit by bit 😊 Have fun!! ❤

@@sister1976 for sure! It’s one of the issues with reaction videos - it’s my genuine first time reaction and once the video is recorded I’m like damn why didn’t I talk about this and this and this but then the videos would be like 3 weeks long 😭 I’ve watched both Lalalala and S-class about 50 times each since recording!

I would have to agree with the west not making this creative music (and pretty clean/no vulgar/cussing/degrading), let alone the skill/talent of producing, coordination/dancing, rapping and singing all together in each member!!! They truly are impressive. I definitely am excited and will be tagging along on your journey 💯💥💫❤‍🔥

And when you (hopefully) get to the point where you are looking at "special" performances (especially awards shows) you'll see that these fiends frequently remix at least a portion of the song just for that stage. A testament to their musical & production talents. And then the joie de vivre in their concert footage... just as amazing live as the polished m/v's are!

you're reactions are so sweet its very genuine, stray kids has a lot of hip pop and rap influence due to the three members that produce most of their discography they go as 3racha (Changbin han and bangchan)their music was influenced by hip pop and rap before stray kids on soundcloud, so naturally it carried on when it came to making stray kids music, stray kids have tried many different genres so you can never really get bored of them, they're really creative when it comes to making unique sounds, for example: Thunderous, a mix of traditional korean instruments and modern day pop, Gods menu with siren sounds and Felix's deep voice contrasting all the loud sounds, Back door is more of a funky sound, and their ballads such as secret secret, never ending story, etc always hit deep because of the contrast it has from their usual style, and their first love song title track, maxident, really isnt like usual pop love songs it has a stray kids spark to it from the lyrics to the sounds

Thank you for this 2nd reaction. It takes awhile to get over any of their videos. Stray Kids are the best at being equally with their versus on most of their songs. I agree I am from the west and old and they are not making videos like this. Stray Kids try to not have as much as cgi but I see they are using it more and more and it is amazing. They are always pushing the bar up to something new. They do have behind the scenes making of these videos and they have videos when they are recording and producing the songs. You might want to check those out as well. And yes, love to go down the rabbit hole of stray kids journey with you. Can't wait to see what you react to next. LOL

Baby Stay here, as of one month ago, I really have enjoyed your reaction videos! I have probably seen dozens of reactions in just a short time and would recommend hitting some of the bigger hits while you take the journey from their beginning. I still haven't even gone through everything! Megaverse and Manic are the songs that pulled me in! Some favorites are Thunderous, Venom, Case 143, Gods Menu, Backdoor, Miroh... I can just keep listing songs, but I'll stop for now. It's endless! I also went and watched their reality show from 6/7 years ago when they formed the group! Very eye opening and makes me so excited to hear even more. Excited to see more from you and them!

Subbing for the SKZ journey!!! If you truly want to start at the beginning, you could react to the Stray Kids Survival Show, which was used to debut them. It's really insightful to how they have become who they are. The trauma they went through as teenagers to forge their future is INSANE. Also, keep in mind that there are many different levels to explore with SKZ including MVs, lore chains, reality type episodes, solo/group projects, dance practices, live performances, etc...there really isn't enough time in the day for it all😂❤

Start with Hellavator pre-debut self-produced song they made during the survival reality show they did in order to debut. It took me a ridiculously long time to learn the members’ names, btw, so don’t feel bad. Stray Kids was formed through a reality show by the same name. Their first pre-debut song, Hellevator, was written during that show. You might like to watch that particular episode and then the MV. Their first official debut song is District 9. Your first reaction came up on my feed out of the blue last night, and it's honestly been a treat. I've watched a ton of reactions to SKZ's music, but none was as eloquent, witty and well thought out. You've got the gift of gab, my friend, and I pressed the subscription button right away. Looking forward to seeing more of your reactions and the way you put your thoughts into words. Now, as very OLD metalhead myself, SKZ is one of the very few groups I follow outside that genre. They're as you said incredibly creative and a genre of their own, and you'll soon discover that their music has managed to bring together so many people from all around the world, yes, but also of different ages. I've met people in their 20s, 30s, 40s and even 60s who love their music. I'm sure you've already been given a very long list of suggestions, but let me suggest Side Effects, Miroh and Venom as well. Too many people just sit and bob their heads and say “wow this sounds great” to see how much work they put into it needs to be talked about!!! So thank you for seeing the value of their amazing work and I look forward to watching your videos.

Thank you for watching! I was thinking about that - do people actually watch me talking about and dissecting the tracks at the end? I notice a lot of videos literally just have someone sat on a webcam who say very little!

@@WhiteCollarRhymes I think a lot of creators choose to listen to SKZ just to get views. And yes I know plenty of Stays that do like hearing what others think about the videos. Every video that they produce I watch it over and over because I pay attention to the sounds, what they wear, reading the lyrics, the choreography, and the production. I highly recommend watching Thunderous! It’s my all time favorite 🤩

I'm only 1'00 minute in but I gotta say!!! FIRST! you got a new subscriber right now! I wanted to see if you'll keep listening to them and you are, so now I'm staying! SECOND! I'm so freaking happy that STRAY KIDS is the first Kpop group you've listened to, they were my first too, and are my favorite. As people told you, they write, arrange, and compose their own music, mainly 3Racha. Chan, Changbin, and Han, and they are on the top of most song copyrighed songriters 4th gen artists in Korea. Chan with over 160 songs, and Changbin and Han with over 140 each. they write and produce everything. For other groups too. I really admire artists that write their own music, their own messege, and 99% of the songs, even the "Hard hiting" ones, always have strong messeges in them, cause it's coming from their own world, their own thoughts and feelings. I love it!!! WELCOME TO THE STAY (fandom name) FAMILY MY FRIEND! You are now a baby STAY :)

You deserve more followers! I really like your vibe, I can really see that you pay attention and enjoy the music and the members. I really hate it when reactors fake enthusiasm over every single song, It's too fake You're very genuin, and loving, and I really like that about you. SO DON'T leave me hanging, and upload more videos cause I'm waiting for you :D @@WhiteCollarRhymes

Hahah😂 welcome to the rabbit hole of skz and stay law ❤❤liked and subscribed. Hahah I agree, I find I watch mvs multiple times and catch so much each time via listening or watching . So much is always going on. Some don’t like it, but I find it amazing❤ I agree no disrespect to western groups, they do their own thing - but stray kids was the best thing about covid lockdowns 😂❤ in 2020 I found an amazing group that I still love 💕💕

Welcome down the rabbit hole that K-pop is. At least for me. I fell down for about 1,5 years ago and I fell hard. I don´t regret it but wished i fell earlier. Love if you do a series from start til now because of the growth them have made are insane. You also mentioned in a video that you wanted other groups and I myself listen to two others, Ateez and BTS. Ateez are close friends with SKZ and you will go insane for their music as well. For Ateez I recommend Wonderland, Bouncy, Halazia. For BTS check out Fire, Mic Drop and Black Swan. Happy falling down and we will be here taking care of you

Stray Kids are amazing people too! If you really get into it watch some of their videos where they interact and play games too. Their personalities really shine!! 🤩🤩 You’re gonna love them! 🫶🏻❤️

Starting at the beginning is awesome! It will take all year with all their content, lol! And they are going to drop another “comeback” (album soon). Also watch their dance practices- especially the early days… they are my favorite group of all K-pop. I will subscribe and follow along with you. I began a year ago and am so glad😊

Personally I think Stay Kids and BTS are similar music and talent. They do their own lyrics, production, composition, and Album themes. Lyrics are so incredibly important for both and their MV and choreography are so incredibly connected and they go hand in hand. Also, both are flipping amazing live. Thank you for listening to SKZ again and love your open mindedness and I love watching you falling in love with their music and as soon as you get to know each member you will be even more impressed.

Happy to see someone finally noticing how good their videographies are. I wish you watch thunderous by skz too. It has a total different vibe from both sclass and lalalala(actually all of their songs does) but I'm also afraid whether you'll think that's weird if u have no idea abt the traditional Korea. Yet I wanna see more reaction videos from u for skz😊

Yes! We would love to join you on a PreDebut to Today journey with Stray Kids. I don’t know how in-depth you want to dive. Most would have you start with MVs Hellevator then District 9. If you really want their beginning then it would be 3Racha- during their Trainee days- there aren’t MVs, but the music can be listened to. Then the Survival Show (might get blocked on YT). Then Hellevator. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Others might recommend you do a GUIDE before your journey so you recognize the members as you go. Up to you. This is your discovery. Have fun!!
