The joy on your face when the first book you had read popped up. Pure joy! I love Frieren so very much and the anime that is coming out is gorgeous!! I just read the 9th volume and have come to the conclusion that it is very much about the characters and their emotional development with not much plot. As I said I am still loving it, but if you need more plot in your stories it's probably not the series for you. I am so happy you are enjoying Fullmetal. It is such a fun/depressing series. Ed and Al are fantastic characters and I love them!

So I read Bloodmarked and it wasn't bad, but it was so different from the first book that I was like "where is this going?" Then I got to the end (or close to the end) and realized this book was all basically set up for the third book. I guess if I had known that going it, I might have liked it more. I was thinking "I am done with this series" until I got to the end and I was like "okay, I'd like to see what they are going to do with this" and so it looks like I will be reading the third book. Maybe some people like to be surprised that a story is not ending when they start a book, I like to know up front if there are going to be more books.

As someone who has read and watched demon slayer, I don't think both is necessary. I just have trouble remembering so many characters so I did both. But the illustrations are exactly the same...? Idk what you mean. They literally just add color lol Yes the battle scenes are pretty because of how it's animated. However, they went for beauty over clarity. I don't think it's "easier" to understand in either form, if that helps.
