That was such a treat! I love how affectionate you are towards your younger self, especially all the "she's right!" comments. I wonder what your younger self would have thought of all the incredible products you've created for your own make up line. Also, 'brow hysteria' is such a great way to describe the current obsession with eyebrows. I hope that you're right (you usually are) about people starting to chill out a bit about their brows. I can imagine young people clutching their metaphorical pearls in horror at the thought of leaving it at a quick brush through and maybe a little powder (if there's time), rather than a 20 minute three-step intensive brow routine 😅

I started watching you when I was 19 at university. I had terrible skin back then and your pinpoint concealing technique and general skincare and makeup advice truly changed my life! I'm now 32 and still use all these techniques. I think you were really the starting point for me understanding my skin type and learning make up, and had a huge affect on my confidence as a young woman. I love this video it really brings it all back!

You were the first makeup artist that actually talked about the skin and not just about full coverage foundations and elaborate makeup looks that I never felt comfortable in. You still are a grounded, wise, humble, cute woman. I've admired since I discover your chanel 10, 11 years ago (my english was worse than now, but you spoke so clearly it was refreshing for me as I understood you very well) Every time I do my make-up I think of you, your tips, guide me very well. Your knowledge and passion still there and that is amazing. I admire you Lisa and I love all your products. Thank you. xxx

This is so nostalgic to watch! Your videos were among the first ones I started watching on youtube, back then I only watched makeup videos. Now, more than ten years later in my mid 30s, your techniques are the ones I religiously stand by and use every day (pin point concealing!) as I think they make me look my best. Thank you for all your valuable lessons and the journey so far! I am so grateful to you❤

Testimony that you were ahead of the makeup game all those years ago! I've always loved your minimal approach to using makeup, but using it so that it enhances your natural beauty and not creating an artificial look. This is exactly why you are the star you are today. You know your stuff! Thank you so much for the confidence that you have given me, from someone who lacked the confidence to ever wear make-up until I was 18! I can still remember my very first and only lipstick - shiny conker by no. 7! Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas ❤

I'm 44. High school (mid 90's) -> about 5 years ago makeup, to me, was foundation and mascara. Maybe eyeliner, blush, and transition shade eyeshadow if I was being fancy. Five years ago I started watching youtube and am still amazed by how much products have improved and makeup education is available. I absolutely credit youtube for the dramatic increase in product quality.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am a huge fan and a big admirer of you. Like someone else commented, I love seeing how affectionate you are towards your younger self. I would like to see any more of these types of videos you might like to make (reactions to your older videos). Thank you for being you, Lisa.

I only started wearing makeup late in college, and because I had no idea about it, I googled for a tutorial (I think it was something about finding out how to even buy a foundation) and this is how I found your website and videos. I immediately fell in love with the aesthetics and "philosophy" of makeup that you had, all about fresh and minimal, timeless makeup, applied through meticulous and flawless technique. It had the biggest impact on me and made me appreciate the true artistry of makeup throughout the years. Basically all I know about makeup I learned from you. Thank you for all you do Lisa!

I have learnt most of the makeup I know because of your videos. I'm a doctor who works in skin and i truly care about skin quality, which an ethos you always echo. Today, makeup for me is a meditative process that I do for me, to enjoy myself, my time like a gentle outlet. We love you so much and truly feel blessed to have you on this platform. ❤

I didn't see that one when it was new but I have seen it before. Seeing that you have barely aged and that even your hands have not aged and that you have kept the same skin care philosophy for all that time can only mean that you know what you are talking about. Good skin care makes a huge difference. I have better looking skin now at 60 than I've had ever in my lifetime thanks to KZbin and people like you giving good advice and following it themselves. You're right about being able to teach on this platform. Thanks for what you have given us.

I found you about 6 months after you posted this. Quickly watched all your videos. Loved the videos and tutorials you did for Chanel and the ones for Lancome. Always loved how you mixed drugstore products with highend and professional products to create your looks. Loved the videos when you used your vintage makeup on the model with the red hair. Haven't been able to get your makeup and skin care yet, but it's on my bucket list (I live in the US). I've learned so much from you. You have a viewer for life. Thank you for all you do. Happy Holidays.

🥲 feeling nostalgic too ❤ I watch you from 2013, Lisa, I think the secret of your continuous success chez moi is your philosophy of makeup actually. Although technique is important it only services the concept, the vision, the look. N i loved it from the 1st sight - your vision of makeup is chic, elegant, reserved n clever. You're simply the best. Always been. Much love n gratitude ❤❤❤

Oh, Lisa....Such a lovely walk down the memory lane (hope I got the expression right :))...Little did I know that it's been 13 years since I've decided that you are incredibly sweet, kind, talented, inspirational, soothing and knowledgeable with alluring passion for make up and make up history, so that you are the one to follow...I remember your chatty 'meeting the ex' tutorial I loved so much. Also the menopausal one and one with gorgeous senior model I used to try to replicate on all my female cousins 60+ (half of them still doesn't speak with me). I loved those with beautiful models of all ethnic backgrounds, Indian bride with vitiligo and TV presenter with make up application issue, or your lovely dentist...I loved your plum make up looks, your smokey eyes, your take on Asian make up styles...I loved latest rusty look you did for Kate Bosworth....Loved your chats with Joanna Scanlan, '90s supermodels and Victoria Beckham, adored your vintage make up tutorials. loved your apartment sessions during pandemic and your stunning sofa...Has it been 13 years already?...The time flies...I've learned so much from you and you helped me through some rough times...Thank you so much for inspiration, knowledge, friendly chats and all things beautiful you shared...Wishing you joyful and peaceful festive season, dear Lisa...Happy Christmas&Much Love...

Can't say i was here back then, but i have followed you for quite a few years anyway and you helped me improve my makeup skills immensely. I can only say as example that I could not make a specific kinda pricey eyeshadow palette work for me, but then I followed your tutorial with you using the exact same one and managed to create a beautiful look with my unskilled hands, just trying and copying you. You were ahead of the times, understand skin, product textures like only a few others in the industry and your techniques don't need to be changed, they just work! Thank you Lisa❤

My first vid of yours was your old Hollywood-inspired Vintage Golds look, because I was struck by its prettiness, plus I had a mini of Nars Majella and found this tutorial that coincidentally matched. I did and still totally admire the vintage look, but the tutorials were in somewhat shorter supply back then. You were one of the only ones to do a totally wearable but glam vintage look without it looking like a pin-up costume, and it was nothing but following from there. To this day your channel is so unlike other beauty channels in the best possible way, by celebrating the timeless and classic.
