So proud of you eve!! 2 years ago I sat my GCSE’s 4 weeks after my mum suddenly passed away and i some how got all A’s and A*s and my reaction was the same as yours. I think it’s incredible that even in the face of adversity you were able to still do that well, your strength as a human is admirable!! My GCSE results are my proudest achievement not for the grades but for the things I went through to get there. Well done eve xxxx

Hola,Eve! Felicidades por tus maravillosas notas! Debes estar muy orgullosa. Soy de España y estuve en Cambridge con una beca Erasmus hace unos años. Nadie me explicó que obtener un 80% en Inglaterra era una gran nota, ya que aqui en España la màxima nota,es un 10, 8 está bien pero no es excelente. Viendo videos he descubierto que un 90 o 100 es prácticamente imposible allí porque se considera algo publicable!!! Por lo que...mis 60/70/80 en mis essays en Cambridge realmente estaban muy bien!!! Y yo sin embargo estaba muy decepcionada por no haber conseguido un 90 o 100! Lol! Besos

v happy for eve but this was HARD for me to watch after getting 42% average in my prelims at ox having worked as hard as I could manage and missing only a couple of lectures through the whole year. (@eve it's not just people who haven't tried at all who fail their prelims lol).

Massive congratulations! You worked really hard and deserve this kind of success. I've just graduated with a languages degree and know how difficult it is to get high marks, especially when you have to perform under so much pressure and stress. And with languages degrees, there's so many different skills to master (listening, reading, writing, speaking, literature essays, translation etc). In my Spanish exams at university I used to make really stupid grammar mistakes... but I'd only realise the mistakes once the exams were over... I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so waiting for results was always a nightmare and I could never tell what marks I'd get.

Go to PachaPapa in Cusco!!!!!! I've had the alpaca and lomo saltado and they're unreal. Also there's a small park two mins from Plaza de Armas where you can take cute pics with alpacas just go down the alley next to starbucks and it's near the public toilets. Get picarones if you haven't already and drink coca tea constantly to help with the altitude. Once you've adjusted I really recommend Rainbow mountain and Humantay lake hikes. Cusco is such a beautiful city, you're gonna love it. And CONGRATS on your results Eve :) xx

I went to Peru volunteering 2 years ago... it’s amazing!! Lake Titicaka is breathtaking if you are able to go! Manchu picchu also obviously is amazing (I trekked for 5 days to get there). Have a great trip! ❤️❤️❤️

What jobs can you do with a languages degree ?

amran307 a tonne of businesses love people who can speak multiple languages because then you can work with companies abroad etc

Phoebe Cave yes it’s good to speak multiple languages but you don’t need a DEGREE in it you can just learn it and maybe get a qualification

amran307 people can study whatever interests them - from my experience unless you want to do something extremely specific (ie medicine, vet med, dentist etc) people don’t really care for your degree. English degrees help you formulate arguments and put your points across in a good manner. Language degrees are the same but have the added difficulty of having to formulate these arguments in another language and interpret other languages/dialects, art degrees show dedication and precision - you can’t just bash out an animation or film or drawing in a night; all degrees have extremely important factors and it’s incredibly naïve to think any shut you off from jobs. Hell, I know someone working in the government who has a degree in archaeology.
