I enjoy watching Jazzy's videos. I miss my dear Uncle Mo who was deaf and passed away several years ago. He was fun and funny but he also was a big deaf advocate. He knew ASL but he could also read lips. When he used his voice, I was the only one able to fully understand him. We could even talk on the phone. He would speak to me with his voice and I would answer by typing on my TTY to him. We had a great method because he typed so SLOW! Has anyone else done that? Thanks for your beautiful humor and personality Jazzy. As a hearing person now I get to watch you with the captions turned on! Big hugs!

Does anyone know what are some of the best ways/sites to learn BSL? I've been working in a new job for a few months and have had several customers I served that were deaf and it made me feel so horrible that I cant really interact with them. I wish BSL was part of the curriculum in schools because I hate how we essentially alienate a group of people in society because we dont learn sign language. So if anyone has any suggestions about how to try and learn it (even just slightly) I would really appreciate it.

Sorry about the late reply but just learn through videos on youtube, the basics first. then start using them in daily conversations even ask someone to join you or do it while talking to yourself. then watch videos like these with the captions first and slowly go through reading what matches the sign language, and then test yourself by turning the captions off. it sounds difficult but it’s not that difficult at all if you keep practicing (:
