Hey Danny it’s Lara! Cool vid! I already saw the performance but I liked hearing the “directors commentary” so to speak, and it’s so neat that you almost got them! I think another video topic that would be interesting is hearing how you chose that trick, how you were selected for the show, and/or if you would do anything differently next time. huge congrats on everything :)
@DanielRoyMagic4 жыл бұрын
Hey Lara, great questions! - I sent multiple tricks to the show's producers and the 5 senses trick is the one they liked best. - That's how I was selected for the show, too -- by sending audition tapes to the producers/casting agents. - In hindsight, there are a few subtleties I could have thrown in the mix that might have made it a bit trickier for them to guess at the method, but mainly, I think I'd just be a bit less nervous since I at least know what the process is like and know what to expect. I'll definitely submit more tricks to the producers for future seasons, so these days I'm trying to think of something even clever-er that they might have a tough time figuring out.

You can hear Teller speak when he plays Amy's father on "Big Bang Theory." I especially liked the episode where Howard did a magic trick then when Teller tried to duplicate it, at the end he held up his clasped with blood running out of them. It was especially funny to see a master magician so adept at sleight of hand be so inept and clumsy.

It's crazy isn't it? I can sort of understand how he could do the smell part, he's taken a good look at a bunch of cards when explaining the different inks have different smells. And he was guessing the card on the bottom. But the taste part, I have no idea how he could work that out from one card on the front and the back and a quick riffle. Being able to "shuffle" the deck and still understand where everything is. Imagine the amount of practice required.
