I loved watching your reaction to this video! what a legendary performance! Another good nin performance to watch is from the dissonance tour with nin and david bowie co-headlining. There's a good video on youtube of Trent Reznor and Bowie performing Hurt together. Its fun to watch bc Bowie brings his own sound to the song and Trent is smiling through out bc hes performing a song he wrote with his biggest idol. nin always bring it when it comes to live performances even to this day imo. you could watch most videos from their concerts and be blown away

Reptile is a regular-play in my morning get-going walk or if I'm getting around for something and doing makeup and all that. NIN of this and earlier album/EPs and music near those or just plain high energy grooves are great for me for that. On the album version the way Reptile comes in through headphones is just amazing.... Love to see someone watching the old Woodstock 94 footage of this and other songs done that night by NIN. Thanks! For another industrial band and independent artist I suggest/request you taking a moment at Summer Goth by Aesthetic Perfection. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4mxcnaLbtd-b8U His stuff runs the spectrum of industrial from the more metal end to the more pop/synth end. Summer Goth is definitely different, imo in a great way, from other stuff out there lol.

yay I didn't expect you to react to this so quickly! I was patiently waiting for 8:32, favourite part of the whole performance. I can't remember for certain, but apparently there was quite a lot of technical issues during this show which definitely contributed to a bit of anger and tension in the song I think. and yeah they're covered in mud, there was really heavy rainfall and the whole crowd were pretty caked in mud too.

9:56 are they covered in filth? Yes, they are. Before going on stage the whole band went diving into a big mud pit that had formed when it rained earlier - later on, they found out that it wasn’t entirely mud and that some of it had been created by overflowing portable toilets.

I know it’s not a video, but I just heard this song from a band I haven’t heard of called Geese. The song is Mysterious Love, and it seems like something you would reallllly love!! Alternative post punky sound that kind of has a bluesy leaning to it, very moody and fiery!!

When you mention the "stressed guitar" (it actually is a synth sound), what makes "stressed" is it's dissonance. Technically it's a sharp 4th in the key there playing in, which was dubbed "the devil's interval" by someone back in the day because of the tension and evilness that's felt from it. It's really effective and Trent used it pretty often back then, actually. You'll hear it in many metal-type songs, as well.

hey now, as a rock lover i like being called a spirit guide LOL, though i would certainly also love little satanist 🤣 they are indeed covered in filth! apparently there was a lot of rain on this day of woodstock, so they got covered in mud. i highly recommend watching their entire woodstock '94 set, though you might not recognize all the songs (i plan to request them all eventually). also, i love oblio so much, what a little bub
