The wendy house line caused such hilarity on set that they started using at as a metric for how funny lines were. "How funny is this line?" "Well it's at least a wendy house."

Why did Grandad say he hasn't seen Micky around for 4 or 5 days - he never leaves the flat - and where and exactly when would he have seen him to notice anyways? Does he spot him around on a regular basis?

That "what you got a Wendy house?" was an ad-lib by granddad, it wasnt in the script

It was in the script. The reason that line is so famous is because the audience response was WAY larger than they were anticipating, not because it was an ad lib. How would that even work? Lyndhurst clearly gives him a feed line that would make no sense if it wasn't a set-up for a joke.

They also had an in joke that when they made future episodes they would call a particularly funny line " A Wendy ".
