Rachel Faust hey! Just a tip, melafix and betta fix actually aren’t safe for betta fish! The essential oils in there coat their labyrinth organ and can make it harder for them to breathe

@@briannagoulet I actually rescue them from there. I just usually get them either free or marked down. It's always good to ask because the worst they can say is no. Also the times I've been told no, they take them to the back and help them there (although I don't know how reliable that is). I've only ever bought one full price after they said no because he just looked so so bad

What you can get as plants are Egeria Densea, Limnophila sessiflora, Anubias Nana, Bucephalandra, Vallisneria (smalls one), and Limnobium Laevigatum or salvinia. As substrat I advise you to check on internet (maybe a technic soil or nutritive soil+neutral soil). On top of that if you get a bigger tank you can put a lot more of stuff :3 Anyway your tank looks already very great and your fish very pretty. I don't judge you or I'm not shouting on you but it's just some advises :3

Yeahhhhh that's not a happy betta. It's fins are torn to shreds....probably with stress of being in a tank far too small. 10 gallon and upward is ideal for betta fish...anything smaller for any type of fish is practically animal abuse

Hey just so you know white cloud minnows are cold water fish and will live a shorter life if kept in a warm betta tank. I know online people say they can live in cold and tropical but unfortunately it's not good for them

My beta only has a 1.5 gal 😂 I had him in a 5 gal but he was constantly stressed, tried a 3 gal but that didnt help, now in this 1.5 he loves it. I do think hes blind tho so that could be a reason he feels safer in a tiny tank. Meanwhile my other beta only likes his 10 gal if you put him in anything smaller he will stare at you and flare up every time you’re near the tank 😂 the 10 gal he just likes swimming in and ridding the bubbles

ur gonna need anywhere from 3-20 gallons (i think 5-10 is ideal and manageable), a filter that doesnt create too much surface agitation (they still want to swim lol), a heater (high 70s to 80F is ideal), water conditioner/bacteria (look up how to cycle a tank, there are different methods), fish food (id stay away from flakes personally, bettas like food with protein and a varied diet), silk or live plants, and decorations that arent sharp so they can hide and feel safe. :) im planning on getting a betta soon so i hope this helps u too

Ideally, a LONG 5 to 10 gallon tank should be used. It will give them more horizontal swimming space than standard or tall 5 to 10 gallons. This is good because bettas tend to have horizontal swimming patterns.
