so.. i've gone down a taylor swift rabbit hole recently after hearing about the success of the eras tour and it coming to australia. during this short period of times, ive watched a ton of reaction videos. i didn't know anything about taylor swift apart from what i'd heard in the media. i knew some of her songs from the radio. your reaction videos are excellent. i love the fact that you're honest and take everything at face value. your commentary is funny, witty and entertaining. what i appreciate just as much though is that you can realise and call out stuff that's terrible on a human level. i've been wanting to watch the miss americana documentary but hadn't gotten around to it. was going to watch it on netflix, but your video popped up and i've just finished watching it and thoroughly enjoyed watching your reaction. it really is amazing how much perspective is changed through the media. the disheartening parts about this doco are that she had an eating disorder and talking through that how period of her life and how low she was. also talking about her mum getting cancer and how devastating that was. then there's the kanye stuff and the sexual assault case. it goes to show that celebrities are human beings. that aren't some zoo attraction and they have the same feelings as ordinary people. money and success doesn't necessarily equal happiness. i've gained so much respect for taylor in that she fights for what she believes in and she has an incredible determination and willpower to succeed and to show her critics that their shit doesn't matter anymore. from all the videos i've seen of "behind the scenes taylor" - she seems to be a genuinely caring, down-to-earth and nice person. totally the opposite of how she is portrayed in the media and that absolutely stinks. i hope she keeps kicking goals and showing people to stand up for themselves and not be treated by shit. whether thats because of your gender, age, sexuality or whatever.

One thing that always bothered me was how everyone always said taylor loved to play the victim, when in fact she was always so gracious with everyone?! Just like the kanye/MTV incident. Mind you, she was 19 and he 30 something, YET she really, the 19 yo, kept her head high and took the high road after that. Tried to patch things up and be 'friends' with him. She basically always tried to be 'the good girl' she was supposed to be. And then, in 2016, kimye went and severely edited out a private phonecall to make her a look like a liar, which basically started a wave of online bullying that made her go into hiding. As if dealing with an ED and a very public and nasty breakup hadn't been hard enough already. Or the media talking about her love life. She was so gracious and professional, cause if that had been me on the red carpet I would have told that lady 'excuse me? Leave your sexism at the door before you hit the red carpet, goodbye. " It's weird how one of the kindest célébrities who's actually down to earth, makes her own music, and genuinely loves her fans (free meet and greets, secret session, private donation etc.) is actually labeled by the media and society as an evil snake.

The music video they were talking about/showing little bits of is “Me”, which is off of her Lover album (the album that came right after Reputation. And the thing with Taylor holding her arms weird after the show, she does that because of the outfit she’s wearing. Her costume was made of sequence, and it can rub your bare arms raw. So she holds her arms away from it when she’s waking so it doesn’t hurt her. I used to have a shirt like that…it was pretty, but painful to wear.
