Same. I'm like pick a hair texture already. I would like it the same over my entire head. I love when I go to the beach though. All my hair is wavy/curly. The rest of the time it only curls in weird spots and I have to straighten those parts. I had pin-straight hair until I became pregnant with my first child. I was 31 when it started to curl. It literally started with one curly section in the front of my hair. I really wanted curly hair when I was young and I had perms (late 80's early 90's). I should have been more specific when I wished for it.

Chances are your hair is actually wavy/curly ! Hair that is not straight needs different care than straight hair (learned that the hard way after 20 years of hair that 90% frizz and just very confused about what it wants to be). You should look up yhe curly girl method ! It did wonders for my hair. I have very little frizz now and my hair curls up in coils now !

Teenage Jessica and Claudia are great! Thanks for sharing those photos! Frickin' teenage years. All I remember as a child/teenager is I was always fighting with my mom on what to wear. I was always trying to sneak off to the men's section and she always wanted me in the women's section of clothing, "Aw, you'd look so cute" or "I love this on you" then ending in "I'M THE ONE BUYING SO YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT!!!" to which I responded with the normal hormonal teenage rage of "I HATE YOU MOM. YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ME." Interestingly enough, she still doesn't. I've always known I was different and came out as trans 5 1/2 years ago and yet she will still introduce me as her daughter. I embarrass her. But back to topic, my teenage wardrobe was interesting. Definitely an era I try to forget.

Claudia talking about wanting to get to know you in the way you wanted to present yourself was the sweetest ♥️ I watched the show at the time and felt like they really did you dirty, both production and some of the other girls. I totally understand that you don't want to revisit that period in a video, but it was really awesome for me being newly diagnosed at that time to see someone else dealing with chronic fatigue, so thank you for putting up with it. It made me feel less alone. Also, why were the superfluous zips on clothes such a big thing?! I had a pair of black flared trousers with zips running all the way up each leg and I thought I was just the coolest. The mid 2000s were a painful time

Growing up, I always had a very "nonconformist" approach to my fashion. I also came out of the closet relatively early (around age 14 or 15). Now, in my mid-20s I've settled into a more neutral feminine, but not girly, sort of style and I'm very happy where I am. It's very interesting the way in which our outward appearance can be in dialogue with our inner state of mind, at times. Loved the video

this is so cute!!! and oddly enough, i always dressed sort of out-there as a kid, at first because of my mom and then because of myself, and i got outed really, really young and was bullied before then, so yeah! i dressed oddly bc i was already deemed a weirdo and i might as well wear, like, fire engine red doc martens with a 70s sailor sweater and a yellow and black plaid pleated skirt (real outfit from 8th grade)! but my older sister, who wasn't really out until college, dressed much more trendily until college, and then went hog wild.

i’ve always liked to stand out with my sense of style, “unique” was my favorite word when i was a kid. my peers mostly wore american eagle, aeropostale and hollister, but i loved avant garde fashion and my role model was lola from confessions of a teenage drama queen lmao, so i wore some kooky stuff. i remember showing up to school one day in fourth grade wearing a plastic tiara that had purple feathers along the base, flared camo print jeans, some strappy sandals, and a bunch of those plastic beaded necklaces. i was sooo proud of that outfit 😂 it was a lot of fun, despite the harassment it brought me in junior high - among many other things, kids called me “lady gaga”, and in our very conservative, religious community that was not a compliment lol (although i didn’t mind the comparison, i loved her). i was entirely unaware of my sexuality at that point, although i felt very fond towards the lgbt community, which also did not bode well in my town. in high school i became really insecure, stopped having so much fun with clothes, began wearing a uniform of acid washed skinny jeans and oversized band tshirts, and bleached and dyed my hair into oblivion. my hair has been every color of the rainbow, thanks to teenage me. it wasn’t until just before my senior year started that i realized i was a lesbian, and after about a year of exploring the butch vibe i realized it wasn’t for me. now i almost exclusively wear long skirts, gold jewelry, and colorful scarves. i’ve always adored the fashion of the 70s and take a lot of inspiration from that time today :) now i get a lot of compliments on my sense of style, which is refreshing after always being considered to be very weird for wearing what i like.

Are there places in the UK where you can have a photo shoot done with hair and makeup and clothing provided? I don't know exactly about now, but there used to be a company in the US called "Glamour Shots" which did this kind of thing. It was like getting a whole makeover and outfit and photos for a flat fee, but I don't think you got to keep the outfit. Thanks for sharing! :)

Claudia's story about the curlers was interesting. When my mom and her 3 sisters would curl their hair in the 70's they would leave soda cans in their hair. And to straighten their hair they would lay their heads on the ironing board and use my grandma's iron, the iron she used for clothes, and literally iron their hair.
