As a nuggets fan, I’ll admit there are not as good as they were in 2023 losing some big pieces but punchy narratives like this always override reality, they still have the best player in the world, one of the best two way role players in the league in araron Gordon, a inconsistent but X factor Jamal Murray, a true six man in brown, and having Russ as your backup pg is always a solid addition no matter if he’s in his prime or not. However, losing Kcp is not that big of an issue people are hyping it up to be, but they need to find more shooting in his absence if not better, considering they’ve already beefed up thier bench significantly.

Julian Strawther is going to have a breakout season. Strawther averaged 29 points a game this summer league. Trey will play. PWat and Braun are only getting better. Westbrook will be a plus on both ends. Then we have the best starting four in the league. This year is going to be fire. Trading MPJ is the dumbest take ever.

people worrying about the Nuggets is so funny to me lol I saw Jokic win 48 games with uber drivers .. his leading scorer averaged 15.1 ppg that season and dude is DEF sleeping on Peyton Watson .. he has an offensive upside that’s very lowkey .. he flashed a good consistent middy last year and the last thing is KCP defense got exposed in both playoff runs .. he can’t guard bigger guards at all .. Braun can.. Anthony Edwards k*lled him every time they played the wolves .. Booker also gets off on KCP consistently .. the west has too many guards where KCP defense is a non factor .. he’s good at screen navigation but overrated as a 1 on 1 defender

I was thinking the same thing... Last season he was already changing a bit his mentality, if he add a bit of teamwork and positivity he could be a big piece for Denver... My only concern is that he don't like Europeans, and Jokic is clearly the leader of that group, how can he convince the joker doing a handshake?

Westbrook is the kiss of death for any franchise that signs him.

Nugget fan here: -Christian Braun is a huge factor. He’s brolic and talented, but hasn’t been pushed for scale: big year for him. -P-Swat having any Offense is above expectations. He’s a big help and getting smarter under Jokic -Russ is a wildcard and if Michael Malone can learn to use him and Jok strengths together, I see new problems for everyone’s bench. -Jamal needs to bring his 18ppg and 6assist to keep us afloat. Any xtra Jamal-dawg is appreciated. We need him in the playoffs. Full stop. -AG is consistently amazing. -MPJ going to be shootin that thing -lots of questions, but we believe in our guys EZ to bring us to the playoffs

Nuggets find themselves in a Western Conference death trap. OKC, Dallas, and the T-Wolves will all be better next year and they were all better than the Nuggets last year. And this says nothing about the rest of the conference being a minefield of the Suns, Kings, Lakers, Warriors, Grizzlies, etc.

I know the Nugs have broken your heart many times over the past couple of years so I really appreciate you not being a hater. The team is still going to be good likely imo a top 4 seed, and will have a chance in the post season as long as Jokic is healthy.

I think what's nice about Dario is that he's somewhat of a clone of Jokic. Hes a playmaker, can pass well, and can pick and pop like Jokic, while also being able to roll. What he brings is the potential to run a similar offense with the second unit, as opposed to last year’s heavy reliance on iso plays.

Hear me out fam there's been talks about Jamal playing off ball Westbrook , Murray, MPJ, Gordon, and Jokic it's possible + Strawther killed it this summer league and rookie season before injury he's a deadly shooter and a good back up PG. People sleeping on my boy Swatson also !!! Also Westbrook has never played with someone like Jokic + the way we do team ball I think people are gonna see a different Westbrook this year that man still has a monstar inside of him!!

Right off the top joker makes any team a contender if just any two players show up to play they will likely win because he is the most consistent superstar in the game a bad game is 20/10/7

Nuggets fan summoned. Definitely disappointed to lose KCP, but I think this guy is underestimating Braun. He was our best perimeter defender during the Minnesota series. Not sure how I feel about Westbrook or Saric yet, but cautiously optimistic. My instinct is that Westbrook will do best as a playmaker in a second unit.
@jlr37392 ай бұрын
Braun is definitely NOT an offensive liability. He’s not perfect and is still learning, but he brings scrappiness to the offense and I think is actually not a bad shooter. We’ll see if that translates if he has higher volume.

Dont think about regular season, think about the playoffs. Reggie Jackson played 82/82 games last season. During regular season aging old Westbrook will be a sidegrade for Reggie Jackson. But during playoffs he can maybe be just as unplayable as Reggie was. And Westbrook is volatile as a person, he can maybe be unplayable in regular season if his personality clashes with someone in the squad. As for losing KCP... Christian Braun and Payton Watson replacing him... Christian Braun was supposed to be replacing Bruce Brown last season. It was ok during regular season, but in the playoffs it just wasnt championship contender tier. Payton Watson was outright unplayable against Twolves in the playoffs, it was surprise to Malone but thats how it was. Jokic played 47 minutes of game 7. When it was +20 for Nuggets Malone didnt want to sit Jokic down and give some minutes to DJ or Nnaji. So getting Saric is big and will be huge for the non-Jokic minutes. Because Saric is a similar type of player to Jokic that can play in the same systems, you dont have to change everything like when DJ gets on the floor. All in all for playoffs Nuggets are looking weaker than in last 2 seasons. Thats without even considering Murrey and him maybe getting injured again and like missing games or playing hobbled. Weaker starting 5. Weaker and more volatile first 2 or 3 bench players. As someone that had high hopes I must say Nuggets are failing to use the prime of Nikola Jokic to his fullest potential. And it will be laughable its over trying to not hit second apron of salary cap and like a 50 million tax penalty...

Yeah I thought Reggie was terrible last year. He started the season well. But then it ended pretty bad, it's like he was out of energy or something

I think if Aaron Gordon hits 3s nuggs basically can't lose, but his shooting is not their biggest weakness.

Ztay you don't think jokic wants revenge. Chet can't guard him. He's playing angry in Olympics. I disagree that they can't win the title.
@jackastor52652 ай бұрын
Nuggets are cooked. Murray looked like trash in the Olympics, their team has lost key players over the last 2 seasons, plus Westbrook is the kiss of death to every franchise that signs him. Conversely, the T-Wolves are better, the young OKC team that was already a #1 seed last year got better, the Mavericks got better after going to the Finals. The West is an absolute death gauntlet.

Might be a hot take but CB is better than kcp. Kcp just wins on minutes and experience. If CB don’t do that dumb shit where he refuses to just shoot the ball this year, you’ll see him shine. KCP was a very big factor into why they lost against the wolves. 30+ minutes with like 4ppg and nothing to show on defense in that series. Not worried about that loss at all. Westbrook needs to be running the bench. Having him as a starter would be a mistake and I’d be heavily questioning Malones coaching skills if that happens. The make or break factor on this team will always be Porter though. If he’s being a sniper, nuggets can’t lose. If he’s off, they get blown out
