Brave Exkaiser and The King Of Braves Gaogaigar are the first and last shows of the "Brave Series." It was a collaboration between Sunrise (The animation studio behind Gundam) and Takara (The toy company that makes Transformers.) If you want to check out more of it, I have two playlists compiled. One features all of the intros. The other also has the intros, but each one is followed by the transformation stock footage for that show.

I think we should separate the concepts. Super Robot" is a giant hero suit, like Mazinger Z, and "Real Robot" is a robot as a weapon of war, like Gundam. Astro Boy is the originator of the Doraemon series, the Yusha series, and the Ghost in the Shell series, all of which have the question, "Can a machine have a soul? I would recommend the Yusha series for Super Robot and the 1st Gundam for Real Robot. The Yusha series has elements of Super Sentai, a clear concept, friendship between machine life and mankind, and a great mechanic depiction, while the 1st Gundam, if you can ignore the old animation, is full of calculated production techniques and excellent human drama by the genius Yoshiyuki Tomino. Mazinger Z and Getter Robo are iconic works, but they are old and require love to watch.

You can re-live some of these old mecha anime stories by playing the Super Robot Wars videogame series, they basically crammed almost ALL of the recent and old mecha anime in one condensed videogame version of the stories AND even give you a brief history of the ACTUAL series in the options screen.

The evolution of super robot design in particular is very fascinating. Check out the intros for Braiger, Baxingar, and Sasuraiger. They make up the J9 Series, which came out in 81, 82, and 83. You can see more and more elements of the 80s style emerging from each of their designs.

I have a little bit of time, so I'd like to explain what the humanoid machines that appear here are called in the work.😊(I've hit the character limit, but I still have things I want to write 😤 4:01 Mobile Suit Gundam (Kidou Senshi Gundam)→Mobile Suit (MS), Mobile Armor (MA) / By the way, the space suits worn by humans are called "normal suits" in the Gundam universe.😁 5:08 Heavy Metal L-Gaim (Jyuusenki L-Gaim) →Heavy Metal (HM) / Mr. Nagano Mamoru's designs were amazing, and could even be called fantasy, going beyond the boundaries of real robots and super robots. In the TV anime, they are divided into the Original, which is equipped with an AI Fatima that is in charge of combat and can only be seen as a transparent shadow, and is the sexual partner of the Master, the A-class replicas without a Fatima, and the B-class. 5:21 Mobile Suit Z Gundam / The opening and ending themes were composed by Neil Sedaka. 5:34 Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ / The title of the OP1 song, "Anime Janai," translates to "Not Anime" in English.😅 5:44 Armored War Dragonar (Kikou Senki Dragoner) → Metal Armor (MA) / What's particularly noteworthy about this work is that one of the main characters is of Oceanian indigenous descent.😌 5:55 Aim for the Top! / Gunbuster → Gunbuster / As you know, this is one of the early directorial works of Hideaki Anno, the director of Neon Genesis Evangelion. When he was a student, Hideaki Anno worked part-time as an animator for The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, so the character and mecha designs for this work were done by the same people who did Macross😊 ...The "Brave Series" that followed was a return to the "super robot" genre from the mid-70s, and I don't think the fighting machines were named after a unique worldview, so I'd like to talk about some of the works that were not included in this video.😌 "Galaxy Drifter Vifam" → Round Burnian (RB) "Combat Mecha Xabungle" → Walker Machine, Walker Gallia (This refers to a giant land-based aircraft carrier that transforms into a humanoid form. Is this the beginning of MACROSS? 😅The walker machine is controlled with an interface similar to the steering wheel of a car.🤯 "Armored Trooper Votoms" → Armored Trooper (AT) "Brain Powered" → Antibody "OVERMAN King Gainer" →Overman "Escaflowne" → Guymelef "Special Machine Soldier Dorvack" →Kanglaite "Pantzer World Gariant" → Pantzer Soldier / Excavation weapons from planet Aarthto "Fang of the Sun Dougram" → Combat Armor / The film depicts guerilla warfare and political dramas reminiscent of the Vietnam War. "Blue Comet SPT Layzner" → SPT (Super Powered Tracer) "Gasaraki" → Tactical Armor (TA) "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" → Knight Mare Frame(KMF) "Fafner in the Azure" → Fafner "Zegapain" → Holonic Loader "Super Speedy Attack Galvion" → Metal Battler "Mobile Police Patlabor" → Labor "Psycho Armor Gobarian" → Psycho Armor "Linebarrels of Iron" →Machina "The Big O" → Megadeus ...That's it for now😌

Rockman/Mega Man had a few shows over the years. I'm assuming the one you're remembering is the 1994 animated series for USA. There was a 1993-94 Mega Man OVA and an anime/manga based on Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force in the 2000s
Further P.S.: Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino made a 180-degree turn to a brighter worldview after being criticized for the excessive darkness of the worldview of "Space Runaway Ideon" in "Combat Mecha Xabungle"; Yoshiyuki Tomino retired from the front line due to exhaustion from the production of "Mobile Suit Victory Gundam", and produced "Brain Powered" for the satellite broadcasting WOWOW in preparation for his retirement. The WOWOW production "OVERMAN King Gainer" followed; the character designs for the film adaptation of Haruka Takachiho's SF picaresque novel "Crusher Joe" were done by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer for "Brave Raideen", "Invincible Superman Zambot 3", and "Mobile Suit Gundam", and the TV anime series created by this duo was "Dirty Pair", which is a SF that shares the same worldview and timeline as the above-mentioned Crusher Joe, but this is not included (although there are no robots in it 😅 Also, "Giant God Gorg," which Yoshikazu Yasuhiko directed from the original story to the animation and direction 30 years before "Gundam Origin," is not included 😔 Then, "Mobile Police Patlabor" was adapted into a movie with a hard setting by Mamoru Oshii, the director of "Ghost in the Shell," and 30 years later, it is considered that reality has finally caught up (and in the 21st century, Oshii also made it into a live-action series)... I'm sure there are many more sci-fi works that I can't remember right now 😅 ...Then there was "Armored Genesis: MOSPEADA," which became one of the materials for "ROBOTECH" along with "Macross" and "Southern Cross," "Macross 7," which played a part in reviving the popularity of the Macross series, "Future Police Urashiman" (also without robots) created by Tatsunoko Productions, the same company behind the "Time Bokan" series, "Neo-Human Casshern," and "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman," "Future Boy Conan" is a sci-fi juvenile film created by Studio Ghibli's Hayao Miyazaki when he was young (featuring the robot soldier from Laputa: Castle in the Sky), "Armored World Gallian" was an idea that preceded "Turn A Gundam," in which robots, a lost technology necessary for battle, were excavated in a world overflowing with medieval chivalry," "Dairager XV," in which 15 vehicles combine, "The Vision of Escaflowne," which could be said to have been where the staff of "Cowboy Bebop" was gathered, and "Super Power Robot Galatt," a work full of humor created by Toyoo Ashida, the character designer of "Galaxy Drifter Vifam" (a robot with a three-headed body that lives daily with the main characters, but transforms into an eight-headed body when fighting... At the time, it was thought to be impossible to make this fully three-dimensional, but after about 20 years, it was made into a three-dimensional model like the fully transformed model of Macross' Valkyrie 😅). Other than that, I haven't seen "Symphonic Poem :Eureka Seven", "Fafner in the Azure", "Muv-Luv" and others, but there's so much more to list, I think I'll stop here.😵
