Bea Arthur (Dorothy) and Rue Mcclanahan (Blanche) both starred in the tv sitcom "Maude". Betty White (Rose) and Rue Mcclanahan both had roles in the tv sitcom "Mama's Family". Betty White played a character similar to Blanche in "Mary Tyler Moore" and she played a character similar to Sophia in "Hot in Cleveland". Just food for thought.

There's one moment that she adlibs a bunch... the others try to keep a straight face but you can tell they are trying to hold back laughs, and so is Betty!
