They toured with Halestorm and Pretty Reckless and during one of the Warning performances, when it was time for guitarist, singer Daniela (Dany) to change guitars, Lzzy Hale came out and presented Dany with the guitar you see her playing here. Dany thought it was a loan but later Lzzy, said, "no, it's yours". Lzzy is a big fan of The Warning.

The melodic "Whoa oohoh ohhhh" is indeed a backing from the studio release. The singer is Alessia Cara who was originally asked by Metallica to contribute to the project. Alessia is an R&B/Pop artist and was connected to The Warning through mutual management to collaborate. The Warning Army (TWA) will be along shortly to fill you in with tons of information about this incredible band and their story. Bottom line, it will be well worth your time to explore more of The Warning.

@@donrichards271 I've heard it by now over a dozen times. The Cara/Warning video is all lip-synced. I'm going by the timbre of the voices in the Whooa. Cara has a soft breathy tone whereas Dany and Pau sing with power. However, I'm waiting for definitive proof coming from the girls themselves or someone on their core team. Until then, I simply stand by my contention.

@@donrichards271 Yes, basically. I believe she simply sings the verse (and even then just the first time around) and the rest of it is the band. The whole Cara/Warning video is obviously lip-synced (did you see any microphones anywhere?) so it tells us little. It's clearly Alessia singing the first verse because she has such a soft and nasal voice. The hard edged singing of the "Whoa" part pretty much has to be Dany and Pau. I haven't seen a poll as to who sings the "Whoa" part and my analysis, unlike yours, isn't based on one. It's based on what I hear. I'd like to hear from an actually authoritative source in the band's circle or from the girls themselves. THAT would settle the matter.

Funny you mention Halestorm, the guitar that Dany is playing, the vocalist, was guifted by Lzzy Hale in the middle of The Warning set while opening for Halestorm in Irvine,Texas as a pay it forward gesture as she had earlier in her career. Enjoyed the reaction! I'm a fairly new TW fan and you haven't heard anything yet. Their original music is fabulous. They're all extremely talented on their instruments and they all have great voices. Check out anything they performed at this concert (Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022) and you won't be disappointed. A few of my favorites are Disciple, Amour, Dust to Dust and Dull Knives. The album version is much more reserved and feels like it's describing a dream-like experience. When they started playing this song as a staple of their live performances it gradually regained some of the gritty roughness of the Metallica original.

The backing track is Alessia Cara's voice who they collaborated with in the Album. You should try "Disciple" or "Animosity" from the same concert. Or the 2 presentations in the MTV VMAs. (You will have more requests for "Evolve" but should try "More" first since the 2 presentations kinda build from one another). PS: also keep on with the live presentations, the music videos are good but lack the intensity they bring to the stage.

Enjoyed your reaction and appreciation of how they made the song their own. Their music career began when a straightforward cover of the same song they did in 2014 as kids, went viral. Their music videos are well-produced, but they are a great live band. The pro-recorded live performance videos from the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX show they did in August 2022 on their channel, are the next best thing to seeing them live. Recommend Disciple, Evolve, Z, or Animosity next. 👍😎

Welcome to The Warning! If more TW is what you want, then there's plenty more where that came from! They are a unique blend of classic rock, hard rock, alternative and metal, with just a hint of punk for good measure. Their sound is familiar and straight ahead, but also definitely easily identifiable as The Warning. Some have even suggested that they're just straight up creating their own sub-genre of rock, which is an idea I could see catching on. Daniela (Dany) is 23 on lead/rhythm guitar, Paulina (Pau pronounced like Pow) is 21 on drums, and Alejandra (Ale pronounced Ah-Lay) is 18 on bass. Definite future Rock Hall of Famers imo. In any case, you could honestly pick any song from their catalogue and it would be awesome, but here are a few suggestions, all from this same concert unless otherwise noted: -Disciple for some high energy (here they swap lead singing between Dany and Pau) -Evolve from the recent 2023 VMAs for even more high energy -Queen of the Murder Scene for a heavier and darker sound -Dust to Dust or 23 to see Pau sing lead while drumming You can't go wrong with this band, they just don't know how to write a bad song. You should check their cover out of this song when they were little. It’s a straight up cover of the original but done by 3 girls age 9-14. It’s what put them on the map. Their live music and original stuff is amazing. You won’t be disappointed.

It's Enter Sandman V2. They use some backing tracks, but not excessively. The guitar uses splitters and delays to get this HUGE sound. Live they are the best band on the scene today. They are going to go white-hot very soon. Not a bad song in their catalog. Any other song from this concert is gold, how about Disciple? Subscribed!

Awesome reaction! Wait until you hear their original music. Not a bad song in their entire catalog amazingly enough. Any song from the same concert (Teatro Metropolitan CDMX) will be a winner with audio/video quality. DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment! Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice. the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale and Pau join in with their angelic harmonies... it is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

Done in only 10 days from invitation to the mixed version back to Metallica during the pandemic lockdowns so they had to collaborate long distance with Alessia in Canada and The Warning in Mexico. The Warning has said that it was made clear to them that Metallica did not want a straight cover, they did that back in 2014 with over 25M views. There are now 4 versions from The Warning. 2014 Straight cover done for their grandparents to hear how they were coming along with their second instruments, they already all played piano. Dany at 14, Pau at 12 and Ale 9. 2021 Blacklist album with Alessia Cara. See the official video. 2022 Playing it live with just the 3 sisters and a little bit of Alessia on a backing track. The 4 of them only did it live together one time in Los Angeles. You found the one with the best sound. 2013 Special occasion, they did it again but with an orchestral string section joining them. They were celebrating their 10th year as a band at Dany 23, Pau 21 and Ale 18.

When you finish reading the wikipedia Novels in the comments below, just jump to their channel, find the full Teatro Metropolitan concert from Aug 29 2022, and start at the beginning. Every song (22) on it is as good as this one, with the same High quality audio/video. That is about half of their original content in one show, with Enter Sandman being the only cover. Each song is indexed, so you can do one, two, three at a time if you choose. Live is their superpower, as they are a Studio Quality Live Band. 🤘

Yes, you DEFINITELY want to listen to more of The Warning. I can guarantee that. Easiest is to just keep going with the Teatro Metropolitan concert you just watched. Ever since they decided, at a young age, to only do originals, this is the only "cover" they do. BTW the bass player is the youngest at 17 in this concert and the guitar player is the oldest at 22. At their advanced ages, they have been a band for 10 years, have 51 original songs, and 4 albums. As everyone else has said, anything from Teatro Metropolitan is good. They also were the only non-nominated band to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards and I recommend those performances. They were the first Mexican band to perform at the VMAs.

Yes, indeed, live is where they are at their best. Funny you mention Halestorm. That Gibson Explorer she is using was gifted to her by Lzzy Hale during a performance when The Warning opened for Halestorm last summer. Such a great story. I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

Great reaction. Pretty much the same reaction I had when I first heard them last year. Stick with this concert and you can't go wrong. I'd probably recommend you react to Disciple next, or Evolve from their two VMA performances, but no doubt the rest of The Warning Army will be making recommendations too!

I'm part of TWA, great reaction and review. I found them a little over two months ago and fell in love. I haven't found a bad song. *a little history:* many of us (shout out to TWA aka The Warning Army!) have been following DPA/TW (Dany, Pau [like "POW!"], and Ale [like "Ah leh"] aka "The Warning"), three sisters from Monterrey Mexico, since or before their first videos as a band started to hit the streams back in 2012... they are, to many of us, like daughters, nieces, or grand-daughters... in 2014 a video of them doing a cover of Metallica's *Enter Sandman* from the "Black" album went viral... they did a few other covers but were also writing their own music, as well... they decided pretty early to not become known as a cover band... so they started releasing their own music... in 2021, DPA/TW answered a call from Metallica to take a song, any song, from the "Black" album, twist it around, upside down, and backward... keep the lyrics but make it something else... DPA/TW teamed up with Alessia Cara, a Canadian Pop and R&B artist, to reimagine *Enter Sandman* as a more haunting, eerie, and dark lullaby than the metal original... they did this in 10 days, during Covid, with Alessia working from remote in Canada... today, Nov 2023, there are four renditions of *Enter Sandman* done by DPA/TW... the original true cover that went viral, the OMV of the reimagined with Alessia, DPA/TW playing it live in concert, and the latest one with an added 10-piece string section accompanying in concert... all of the concert renditions somehow come out even darker and more foreboding, bringing almost constant chills to some fans when they hear or experience it... DPA/TW started with music at a very young age... like 3 and 5 for Pau (drums) and Dany (guitar)... Ale (bass) wasn't even born yet... they started with piano and classical music... Ale also started on piano when she was old enough... as a family, they used to watch concerts on TV together... music has always been a part of their lives and they are influenced by many bands from years past... then came the game, Rock Band, which Dany and Pau played all the time with Ale watching and clapping along... Pau gravitated to the drums and Dany the guitar... Ale chose the bass even though she didn't know what it was at first... the bass was Ale's second choice for an instrument... originally she wanted to play the harp... they couldn't find anyone to teach her harp, though, so the bass it is, to everyone's delight! her original 4-string bass was a 1/2 size bass which was quite big for her... later she went to a 3/4 size 4-string bass... today, Ale has several bass guitars but she mostly plays her Specter 5-string... since she was 15 years old, Ale is a Specter Featured Artist... her Specter bass has a 35" neck on it and the coloring on the body is named "Ale's Inferno"... not long after Ale started playing the bass, the girls realized they had all they needed to form a band and here we are, today... Pau is a powerful force behind her drums... in her younger days, she was likened to "Animal", the drummer on The Muppets... she put her entire body into every stroke... it was quite joyful watching her in action... she has refined her form in recent times but she still has a powerful swing and a much stronger sound... some like to say that "she beats her drums like they owe her money!" LOL since she has refined her form, she also doesn't break as many sticks as she used to... when she did break one, she seamlessly replaced it without losing a beat and many times no one ever even noticed... pure professionalism, there... in one of their interviews, Pau comments about having been playing the drums for 13 years... that was two years ago so she has 15 years under her belt, now... Pau also takes lead vocals on several songs while she is playing her drums... there are not very many singing drummers in the world, today... she does aerobic exercises and running while singing to keep up her stamina and breath control... she's been singing while playing the drums since her early years... you can find videos of Pau doing drum covers when she is like 8 or 9 years old... Dany is a goofball and total guitar nerd... she has numerous guitars in her arsenal... PRS, Rick Toon Spearfish, Manson, Gibson Explorer (gift from Lzzy Hale of Halestorm), and more recently, a mustard yellow Manson was given to her by Matt Bellamy of Muse, one of the band's bigger influences... DPA/TW have covered several of Muse's songs and more recently they have opened for Muse in Mexico and the UK numerous times... hearing Dany make her Mansons sing is quite the treat... especially when seeing them live... Dany is also the main lead singer for the group... she has quite a range (one vocal coach says Dany can hit D5) and can growl or put gravel in her tone when needed... she easily expresses emotions with her voice and her facial expressions drive it all home while she is singing... Ale and Dany both use Orange Amps to drive their sound... the three of them, together, create a huge wall of sound that flat out pummels you when you see them live... today the girls are 23 (Dany - Jan 30 2000), 21 (Pau - Feb 5 2002), and 18 (Ale - Dec 13 2004)... they have just released the full concert they did at the Teatro Metropolitan (Metropolitan Theater) in CDMX (Mexico City) back in Aug 2022... Mexico City (2240m, 7350ft) is higher in altitude than Denver, Colorado (1609m, 5280ft)! certainly higher than their home town of Monterrey, Mexico (540m, 1770ft)... this is mentioned because of the altitude and thin air... when doing strenuous activities, you need more air... in some of their early concerts, you can tell the altitude catches them out a bit... you can find their recent Aug 2022 concert on DPA/TW's YT Videos page as individual videos of the songs or as one video of the entire concert with opening and closing BTS (behind the scenes) added... they may also have a playlist of the individuals so they can be viewed in proper setlist order... the Met Theater in CDMX holds like 3500 and sold out both nights they played (Aug 26th and 29th)... some huge milestones took place at the 2023 MTV VMAs... 1) The Warning were invited to play two of their songs on the Extended Stage... 2) they were the only ones to play that were not nominated for anything... 3) they are the first Mexican band to perform at the MTV VMAs... those are all quite the achievements! for the VMAs performance, there were four takes shot... two 45 second ones for broadcast and two full length ones for each of their songs, *MORE* and *Evolve* which MTV has posted to their YT channel... DPA/TW have a working relationship with Pepsi in Mexico and have shot several commercials for them... this relationship plus being signed with Lava helped greatly with this milestone in their career, i'm sure... additionally, this summer (of 2023), they were the first Mexican band to play "Rock am Ring" and "Rock im Park" in Germany in 20 years... they have also been invited to play at the 2024 Wacken Open Air metal festival which is also held in Germany... currently they are completing their fourth album and finishing up their "Error" World Tour which has taken them all over the Americas, the UK, and Europe... i still can't believe it has been 10 years! it seems like only yesterday i was watching a very young Pau beating her drums into submission and then seeing videos of all three of them playing together as they started their journey... the rabbit hole is deep and quite enjoyable! come on in, there's plenty of room for more! 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

You haven't even heard Pau (Paulins), the drummer, singing lead yet! React to Narcisista (the Teatro Metropolitan concert version where she comes front stage), Dust to Dust, Survive, Revenant (slow ballad up front again), or 23. Nobody's better at singing well while also playing drums, believe me. Whenever available, ALWAYS use the Teatro Metropolitan version rather than a flashy pro video. The Warning is above all else a LIVE band.

There are 53 covers on the Blacklist album and most of those are by well established artists, but after listening to all of them, I can say without hesitation that to me theirs is by far the best one and that most of the rest, even though Metallica specifically asked them to not do a straight cover and go nuts, wimped out and just made covers with a different guitar sound or vocals, except for a few exceptions, but even those were not as successful as The Warning. And this when they were just 21, 19 and 16. Just react to all their live performance from the same show at Teatro Metropolitan that are on their KZbin channel, you cannot go wrong, as I kid you not, with 3 albums and some singles, they have never written a bad song yet.

To be clear, this is just coincidence; the tracks are ordered by the original ordering on the Black Album, and within each song, by artist name, and Alessia Cara is the lead artist name on the song. But this song did get used even before it was released (a video game trailer), and surely Metallica had something to do with that and with it being used by Fox Sports very shortly thereafter.
