That man hissing “Weeeeeeessssst” unlocked a buried primordial memory in my mind. It is such an excellent show that seems to have almost been completely forgotten over time. It is great to see you guys taking a look at some of these less popular shows.

I would suggest Chowder, was on air around same time as Flapjack and was awesome. Can't suggest any episode in particular though as so many are great.

I don't remember the name of it, but I remember an episode where Chowder ate a fruit that was so sour he folded into himself and was transported into his own mouth.

I was in elementary watching this occasionally and some of the imagery was gross to me but nothing horrible. I remember feeding really emotional and conflicted about Knuckles though. I forget they had a whole metaphor with maple syrup, I just remembered him being an alcoholic with an extreme candy addiction lol. I would get really angry watching the show, or upset, sometimes to the point of tears, but never from fear. I didn't have the words or the pieces to put what i was feeling together at the time, but tldr; projected a lot of personal family issues onto a comely cartoon character. Its nice to see an episode of the show again after all these years! I do feel like it was a bit ahead of its time, the humor reminds me more of regular show and adventure time compared to something like the family odd parents or jimmy neutron. Like early SpongeBob! Anyways great reaction, great episode choice!

Thanks for the awesome video! By the way, I recommend a show called “Bee and Puppycat”. It’s funny, weird, and the artwork is beautiful. By the way, there is an old cartoon pilot called “Blackford Manor”, and I just found out that the story got to continue in a book. It has an eerie and mysterious vibe that reminds me of “Over the Garden Wall.” Another cartoon pilot that got turned into a book is “Obituary”, but this one is more comedic than eerie. It’s about a human girl who lives at a cemetery and was raised by the ghosts there.

I don't remember the name of the episode, but the one I remember best is one where Captain Knuckles and Flapjack go around trying to find a good story and every story they hear is weird and creepy

If you are looking for more weird Flapjack eps, I recommend any that include the Barber or Candy Wife. Also, please add Invader Zim to the watch list, specifically the Organ Harvest and Lice episodes.

And to think this is actually one of the more "normal" episodes of this show. And Patrick McHale, creator of Over the Garden Wall, is another animator/writer for this, which you can tell right away. And if you need some weird one off recommendations, there's a lesser known short by Aardman animation called "Stagefright" to check out, it's a little more out there than what would one expect from them, but still has that charm they're known for.

@@JesterBrosCartoonTheater Completely understandable. I just finished watching your reaction to MLP. I LOVE that show. Do you know that there's an episode about a cult? Well, a two part season opener. Also, any episode with Discord is so much fun, if you ever do more. :-)

Hey! I'm a big fan of your channel! I love your honest reactions and the contrast between you two. One show that I would love to see you two react to is Amphibia. It is my favorite cartoon, and it is the best story cartoon since Gravity Falls, and it reaches ATLA in its scale. It has a marvelous blend of humor, charm, characters, dark humor, and story. There is a lot I'd love to see you react to, but nothing more than Amphibia. The first season can feel a bit slow sometimes, so I can come up with a watch schedule to help parcel it out at a better pace if you're interested. Once again, this has become my favorite cartoon. I have cried over the beauty and emotion in the finale almost every day for the last 10 days. It has affected my everyday behavior to be more productive, and helped me to treat myself better. You will be invested, and it will be one of the best cartoons you'll ever see.

[Alec]: Thanks so much, Randall! I’ve already seen Amphibia so we can’t do a whole reaction series BUT I’ve been thinking of a one-episode reaction to an especially weird one. If I had to show Lucas one great spoiler-free episode with some shocking/weird moments, what would be your top recommendations?
@randallwalter75892 жыл бұрын
@@JesterBrosCartoonTheater Hey thanks for responding! Hm. For a good sale pitch episode, I think the first pair of 11 min episodes is great. For what you're looking for and what Lucas will like, I'm pretty sure that no episode is better than The Shut in (S2E12). That's got some stuff that spooks the creator. For anything else, since they are 11min episodes, I would show Lucas around two out of any of the following: Children of the Spore, A Night at The Inn, Anne Hunter, Return to Wartwood. In other words, we have Mushroom Zombies, Alfred Hitchcock cannibals, Predator on Dagobah, or Summoning a Demon. Those sound like pretty great ones to me. What do you think?
@JesterBrosCartoonTheater2 жыл бұрын
[Alec]: These are great suggestions, thanks!! I think we’ll definitely go with one of these when we get to Amphibia

The one show back in the 2000s that stays nostalgic for me is Magi-Nation, definitely a more infamous Western isekai series based on a Pokémon/Magic: The Gathering-bridging card game and two Game Boy adaptations. It's probably not the most meta of cartoons, but it had cleverly interwoven facts of science and history that I still remember today. IDK if you guys have come across it, but I think it might be an interesting show to check out.

I actually have a few suggestions. It all depends on Copyright though. 101 Dalmatian Street. It acts as a sequel to the original Disney movie, and it's a ton of fun. Hanazuki Full of Treasures. A chibi Hasbro cartoon with great comedy and heart. Veggietales. You said in your reaction to Root Packed that you like anthropomorphic vegetables, and it's surprisingly clever and well done.
