A more realistic theory: Edna doesn't look back because her design killed a high schooler. 😢 "No capes!!" and, "I never look back," is because of all the people who DIED. Corona means crown, its specifically referring to a spikey one. So a spikey aura, like what the sun has, is a corona. The first corona viruses discovered were seen under less high quality microscopes, where those spikes looked like a spikey aura. The name corona in tangled is super level because it combines both sun and crown.

Hundreds of thousands of years ago? In Moana we see the Austronesian Expansion, which began around 3000 to 1500 BCE, in a flashback. Assuming her people had only a few generations of explorers, the story has to take place less than 5000 years ago at its earliest. Since Motunui is mostly based on South Pacific cultures, which were colonized by the Austronesians at the last wave of expansion, which went from around 700 CE to 1000 CE, I’d place the turtle’s age between 1000 and 1300 years. I think if Crush were slightly under 1000 years old he might’ve said “hundreds”. Still a crap theory, but technically possible if you stretch enough. Edit: he’s not “hundreds of years old”, he’s 150. How I managed to let that one slip is beyond me.

coronavirus are named as such because the virus itself somewhat resemble crowns which in Latin mean crown. Same reason why the glow around the sun that is visible during a eclipse is also called corona (correct me if I'm wrong). Edna probably has so much protection because she makes suits with so much protection (bulletproof, doesn’t tear, can put out fires with ease) if they got into the wrong hands there could be a major supervillain in the game and SHE OBVIOUSLY WOULDNT WANT THAT. Also she is in contact with a lot of well known superheroes and she knows their identities, and if she didn’t have a lot of security someone could break in and find the supers’ identities, phone numbers, possibly addresses too, which again SHE OBVIOUSLY WOULDNT WANT THAT (plus, a big house usually has a lot of security anyway because of how many points of access there are, and if she knows how to make suits that protective, she can make protection for her house because she would want to protect herself too)

The corona is the outer "crust" of the sun able to be seen around the moon during a solar eclipse so it completely makes sense that the kingdom's name is corona and the main symbol is the SUN. And maybe the reason rapunzel says indoor for most of the movie is because they don't have the proper technology to shield your eyes from the sun? That theory is probably gonna get shot down almost immediately but it was worth a shot.

Holy shit, I had to pause this video to point out the irony: Here in Brazil, potterheads tweet at Netflix EVERY SINGLE DAY demanding for all the HP movies to be available on the plataform. This became a local meme, and even Ryan Reynolds tweeted about this once while promoting 6 Underground. Never in my life I thought I would see the day when someone would use BRAZIL of all places as an example of where you can watch a Harry Potter movie on Netflix (fyi: the ones available there are years 2, 5 and 7, both movies)
