I've never dealt with addiction, but this song resonates with me because of the struggles I've dealt with in dealing with PTSD and TBI. I've had those same struggles, questioning if God heard me, if anyone would miss me, etc. My life changed forever, I became someone who I don't recognize in the mirror. For a very long time I hated myself because I felt like I had failed everyone, had let them down. I'm not saying that what I go through is exactly the same as someone fighting addiction, but I'll be damned if I can find anything else that comes close. Things have been better for these last few years, and I had stepped back away from God. I forgot who gave me the peace that I enjoy at this moment in my life. Tom reminded me of that when he released this song.

Tom Macdonald is literally the best true rapper EVER.. writes his own music and uses his platform for all the right reasons. He is Amazing, a breath of fresh air in an industry full of evil he hasn't let the devil get to him. He is an angel of God
@justuslightworkers3 жыл бұрын
Totally straightforward. He's a recovering addict and and had a major mental breakdown a few years ago. Tom was singing about his experience and feelings. There was no symbolism ir reading between the lines. Every word was exactly as it sounded.

He describes himself as "spiritual" rather than religious. He said he prays a lot, but has no idea what entity he's praying too. He says he doesn't trust organized religion. #HOG4LIFE
@TheJokesterSCR3 жыл бұрын
I'm an atheist and think praying is a waste of time. Especially when all religious books will condemn you for praying to the "wrong" God. Our so-called creator leaves us ZERO evidence of his existence besides a book that humans could have just made up through passing along old wives tales. But then most of these deities will condemn you to an eternity in hellfire for getting it wrong, LOL! I don't understand how people buy into it. I COULD be wrong. Sometimes I really hope that I am. But I don't think so...

We've all been in despair, thanking God will not hear a word we say. But to me, God is in your heart. He hears you loud and clear. As human beings, we always want to blame something for the things we've done. Even the things we have no control. We always get our answers. We're too busy looking in the wrong places, whether it be at the end of a bottle or two, instead of looking deep down inside of ourselves. And knowing the answers to the problems but refuse to look at them. It is where we stray away from the truth. And it is in the mirror that you look at a few moments ago. As a human being, you cannot change your heart from where it lies. And then answers you look for will never be found. The Bible is a manual of life on the way humans should live. The way we proceed in life depends upon our actions. And not until you stare truth in the face. You will never get the answers. That is if you think about it. Great video. God bless

Even though he is a little bit open in who he is, as non judgmental person he holds back on truly opening up on his faith. He tends to stay away from religion but as anything he studies topics in depth. In other tracks he states he walks with Christians, which means Christianity has a heavy influence on him, and his music. I cannot judge the man, but I ponder a false conversion. But as his claims are set, it sounds as if he is as close to being saved, but is not there yet. I can relate.
