Barricade fought bee in TF1, then showed up at the final battle for like 2 seconds, then reappeared in TF3 after forgetting to show up TF2, got smoked by humans, then didn’t appear in TF4, then showed up in TF5 just to be in a chase scene and nothing else. Cybertron was smaller here because most of it was destroyed when it collapsed in on itself in the third film. In this movie, it looks like Quintessa took what was left and is trying to keep it together, hence why its being held together by tendrils. Also, the idea of Earth being Unicron was borrowed from the 2010 animated series, Transformers: Prime. However, it was handled much better there. The story in the show stuck to the lore, but changed it to him being Earth. In the beginning, the creator of the Transformers, Primus, made the Thirteen Primes who defeated Unicron. While dormant, Earth formed around him due to his gravitational pull. Unfortunately neither series truly addresses the pressure and dilema of our home also being robo-devil. Make no mistake, this movie not only threw out the main franchise, but also any lore established within the film universe itself. Thats why it killed the Bay universe. Whether an alternate timeline or reality, Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts reboot everything and start from scratch.

Prime dealt with Unicron by confirming Prime's guess that he had fully transcended the physical plane, which means the Primes succeeded in ensuring he stayed dead. Bayverse, however, shows that Unicron is going to destroy Earth if the next film had been done, since he was waking up, going by his six mandibles appearing in this, because once he started transforming, it could not be stopped.

Funny thing about Last Knight it was originally supposed to be 3 hours long but people didn't want a 3 hour transformers movie (for some fucking reason) so the company decided to cut a LOT of scenes. Unfortunately the scenes that were cut were actually integral to the whole story so if you ever were confused on a scene it did have an answer it just didn't make the cut

If a sixth Michael Bay Transformers had been made it would have made even less money than The Last Knight which is why when Bumblebee was made it had a much smaller budget because Paramount knew even if the movie ended up being great (which it is) it would still make less money than The Last Knight.

TLK was originally was going to be 3 separate films: operation skyfire, Transformers: TLK and one other. Operation: skyfire was about jetfire from revenge of the fallen coming to earth, and he fought in ww2. Instead, they did the Bumblebee ww2 scene in TLK. TLK was originally going to be Optimus teaming up with new transformers to take down the creators (the quintessons), but instead, we got Quintessa in the movie along with the other stuff that was originally not going to happen.

The reason why this feels like many movies combined into one is because it basically was! During production of TLK, Paramount saw Marvel and DC booting up their cinematic universes and they wanted Transformers to have its own cinematic universe. So a writers room was made, and three movies were drafted up. A WW2 movie, a Dark Ages movie and an Age of Extinction sequel. Eventually it led to all three being combined into TLK. Unfortunately, this movie also heavily contradicted every previous Bayverse movie (Optimus being on Earth in the 1700's despite his first arrival in 2007) while somehow keeping it all connected (revisting the Pyramids and the Ark on the moon).

Pretty sure the Unicron/Earth is from the Alligned Continuity (War for Cybertron (the game not the show), Fall of Cybertron, Prime, RiD). After his defeat at the hands of Primus and the original 13 Primes, Unicron floated through space and was eventually caught in our sun's orbit, and his own gravitational pull caused space debris to form on him creating the Earth

I recently rewatched this film due to not remembering anything at all and now i realize why i forgot this film. It had some interesting ideas that could have worked if they were written better. I believe you could write a book why this movie didnt work and could only write a page of what actually worked. Anthony Hopkins was highlight for me he seemed to just have so much fun as you mentioned already.

Just as a heads up, the next Transformers movies (Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts) are set in a separate continuity. If you hear the producers say otherwise, ignore them. The Bayverse may be a convoluted and paradoxical mess of a continuity, but it still doesn’t really fit with the new rebooted continuity. So if you see certain characters have vastly different designs and origins, this is why.

The lore of the Transformers changes in many ways. Some say it was Primus, the Transformers God of Light, that created the 13 original Primes thus created the Cybertronian race. In others, they were created by the alien race called the Quintessons who were then overthrown by the Transformers. Here in Bayverse, they combine the two lores to create a new universe. Here it is said that Quintessa is one of the original Primes but that has proven to be false. Like the Fallen, she believes that her kind is superior to all and thus corrupted to a power hunger mage. She seeks to destroy all lifeforms so that only hers are superior. Because of her descent to evil and corruption she was overthrown by the Guardian Knights of Iacon and they stripped her off of her power by confiscating her staff. This earned her the title of the Great Deceiver for her abilities to manipulate and deceive all Transformers to her like how she corrupt the pure and good will Optimus to the evil brutish Nemesis.

In the show, Transformers Prime, they explain that after Unicron's battle with Primus, the god of the transformer's world, Unicron entered a deep hibernation state for billions of years, during which time, debris collected around him, forming the planet Earth. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but my favorite was Revenge of the Fallen with the Prime fight at the beginning, the Devastator reveal and then the 2v1 at the end. I get goosebumps every time I watch it and hear that one part of New Divide kick in as Megatron turns into a sick looking tank.

Michael Bay in this film for some reason shifts between at least 4 or 5 different aspect ratios between shots within the same scene. Every now and then the aspect ratio changes from full screen to wide screen. It would constantly do that throughout. It comes off as very messy and distracting. It doesn’t help that SIX (that’s right) people edited the film.

I f*cking hate this Transformers movie, it's even worse than ROTF (which has some solid moments) What makes it even more disappointing is the fact that they scrapped out the Knighthood origins of both Optimus and Megatron (showcased in a Cybertronian gladiator concept art) and Megatron's new transformation (he was supposed to transform into a dragon, the very reason they gave him a flamethrower, making a legendary rivalry between Optimus as a Knight and Megatron as a Dragon)

The idea of Unicron being planet Earth itself came from a very well made and famous Transformers series, Transformers Prime. It is revealed that after Primus and the Thirteen Primes defeated Unicron, he was cast out into the vast space, and by the action of gravitational force and magnetism, debris, cosmic dust and everything else came to form Earth itself arround him. He was in stasis, some kind of coma, that's why he never awakened until a cosmic event happened (planetary allignment). I found this a very good idea because it connects both human and cybertronian races.

The problem with transformers from the very first movie has been the human element in it. Sure, they crashed on earth and did their best to protect humans, but the humans never willfully went out of their way to fight them because they were never any match for them, so for the most part the decepticons kept the fight between them and the autobots. They need to go back to that, which is why the first ten minutes of bumblebee is the best ten minutes of the entire franchise.

Though we don't know the truth, it's highly implied that, like the Quintessons, Quintessa is a pretender to the title of 'creator of the Transformers.' Incidentally, 'Quintessa' was the name of the Quintesson's original homeworld. 47:15 -British sailors are called 'limeys' for a reason. 48:22 - In the original show's lore, Cybertron was only about the size of Earth's moon. I don’t know if this has been suggested at all, but you guys should definitely do a reaction to the two Sicario movies. I think you’d love the true life grittiness of them. Some of Benicio Del Toro’s best casting also, imo. Please keep up the amazing work my guys!

Yeah the ending scene of the Unicron statement was meant to be a sequel to this one...but instead it was decided to reboot the new Transformer movies set in another alternate Storyline universe.

Even though I disliked _Revenge of the Fallen,_ at least the 2nd film redeemed itself by having Jetfire and an awesome third act compared to the entirety of _The Last Knight_ and if I was put into a room and had to pick one choice between _Revenge of the Fallen_ or _The Last Knight_ I would choose the former. Lastly, by this film Michael Bay pretty much lost interest in the franchise and after this film he was all but done with directing anymore films, so can’t blame him and the behind the scenes drama that happened. But I’m overall excited on your upcoming reactions to _BumbleBee_ and _Rise of the Beasts_

I know You guys aren’t familiar with the lore, but it’s a common occurrence in various transformers renditions where unicorn is earth. The way it goes is unicorn is in a dormant state and over time the entire planet formed around him. So isn’t literally the planet, but he is the planet’s core

36:40 so ww2 bee is technically inspired by a short comic story where the transformers were hiding during time when america was establishing the railroads. So bee in that comic was a train kinda looking like that with the early iron playing and his weapon was a hammer.

I didn't mind this one too much, but mostly because I looooooved Jablonsky's score (as I did for all the other Bayverse movies), and I'm a major sucker for Anthony Hopkins. I did like the third act as well. Fantastic visuals and lines and score. Have I mentioned the score? Okay yeah. The score. Oh how I love the score. I almost feel like Michael Bay used Jablonsky as a cheat code to get me be all the more willing to accept this movie more than I probably would have.

"Everything is a transformer" Well, Earth is Unicron, so yeah. BTW, Earth being a form of Unircon was first used in the Tranformers Prime CGI series, which came out before this movie. Since it's a series, they had a lot more time to work with the concept than the movie. He's still basically the transformers version of the devil, but you kinda don't want to kill the thing where you are living on, so the idea is to make sure it slumbers for eternity.

So in the newer Transformers Prime cartoon, Unicron was defeated billions of years ago. And after drifting for millions of years a planet formed around him. Essentially they have to keep Unicron alive but incapacitated, to keep life on earth safe. Earth and Cybertron are linked.

If I'm not mistaken, as far as I can remember, I think Michael Bay was burned out from the franchise and originally did not want to direct Age of Extinction and The Last Knight & kept saying at the time he was leaving, but the studio kept wanting him to return. I think I read that he only agreed to do so in exchange for being able to make the films "Pain & Gain" and "13 Hours", both films I think are so incredible & I highly recommend. As much as some people love to trash on Michael Bay (I love his movies), he did create a writer's room for this movie where he had people brainstorm Transformers ideas. Out of that meeting, came the idea for the next 2 movies, Bumblebee & Rise of the Beasts. I gotta admit, I even loved Bay's last movie, Ambulance, although I also admit it was not 1 of his best. If there's any Bay movie I was less enthusiastic about, it is the Netflix movie, "6 Underground". I was still very entertained, but it was also not among his best either. If you like movies involving Dragons, medieval times, or sword-fighting, may I suggest the following great movies I do not think you guys have reacted to yet... Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Reign of Fire, Dragonslayer, Dragonheart, First Knight, Timeline, A Knight's Tale, Excalibur, Braveheart, Highlander, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

As a Transfomers fan I would like to apologise on behalf on Michael Bay for this movie. I promise Bumblebee and Rise Of The Beast are much better, and they wipe the slate clean for the Transfomers universe with a fresh start Also Transformers is still better than all of these but that’s not the point anyway

I hadn't seen this movie before and after watching this reaction, I'm kind of glad that I never wasted my time. I'm 52, so I grew up in the 80s and I absolutely adored Transformers when it originally aired. Humans were always a part of the Transformers universe, like Daniel and Spike in the movie you watched, but Michael Bey tried to make the humans on the same level as the Autobots and Decepticons. He made humans able to hold their own and even kill the Transformers. The original series didn't do that. A human would make a small but vital contribution to whatever was going on, like Daniel saving them inside Unicron. Bey made the humans the primary characters and the Transformers the supporting characters. Transformers was the opposite, which is why the focus on humans is kind of frustrating.

So the dragon called dragonstorm is formed by the knight of iacon to protect the staff who was given to a man. The staff is how they rebuild their home cybertron by killing Unicron which is the earth.

For anyone confused to why Megatron has a new body, after transformers 4 Galvatron aka megatron went back to cybertron where he then got in contact w quintessa and she made him a new body and sent him back to earth, it’s one of the only explanations.
