Twice are super popular in Japan, not just the biggest k-pop girl group but the biggest foreign female act during their time. TT was a mega hit and kick started their popularity, they've since had 5 #1's on Japan Billboard (including 3 of the songs in this video) and another 14 top 5's.

During the time of these releases, young girls were a large demographic for them in Japan, they switched up their concept in 2019 so it's probably different nowadays.

I love their japanese tracks since 3/9 members are japanese, they get to have that just like the korean releases, i feel like the tracks mature up especially with their 2021 releases “doughnut” and “perfect world” even “better” from 2020… so good i’ve had “doughtnut” on repeat for a while, it’s very beautiful and i’m excited for u to check it out!

Yes they are the most popular kpop gg in Japan up until now. Actually, they are the Best Selling Korean Girl Group in Japan, just surpassed Kara in sales (KARA was surprising as well on that since they competed with SNSD in that era, but they held the best selling title until 2019 before Twice surpassed them which is super impressive). Oh, and to add, they sold out a dome tour in japan in only 3 minutes. I think that's another testament of their popularity. Thanks for reacting to Twice! 💕

I love it!! Please Please Please, their 2nd set/newer japanese songs will take you to another level, most of it are already different in terms of genre, as how they did in their korean title tracks.. Please react to their newer japanese songs!! A great fan of yours, a Filipibo Exo-l/Once here! I recommend Fake and True, Breakthrough, Kura Kura, and Perfect World! You won't regret it, it's not cute concept anymore.

Brand New Girl is actually a b-side and they made the MV to play at their concert, which is why if you notice there's no choreo. Both Brand New Girl and Wake Me Up have some wholesome encouraging lyrics rather than romantic. I think one of the reasons that a bunch of their japanese ones have lyrics that aren't about romance (and also an MV like Candy Pop about a little girl watching them) is cause, unlike in korea where the target audience is guys, most Twice fans in japan are girls.

I am so glad that you reacted to these and I am so glad that you are reacting to more Twice as you can see they are FANTASTIC, also just letting you know that their Japanese songs aren't always so wholesome if you checked out Breakthrough, Fake and True, Perfect World, BDZ, BETTER, Kura Kura, etc you'd see what I mean! Also I just got to say that Brand New Girl is kind of suspicious like at 13:14 Are they like a couple and also not to mention the SaiDa moments as well just okay, and they are considered to be LGBT Queens like they legit did a cover of Born This Way and it was one of the Members (Chaeyoung) who came up with the idea! And you got some of the Members correct Nayeon you actually mixed her and Mina up in the first video, she is known to be the chaotic bunny of the Group and she does not care what anyone thinks she legit was lap dancing on the Members she is also a GREAT Vocalist! Jeongyeon you already know her she's your girl I can't wait to see her back with the Girls right now she is currently dealing with Anxiety and Depression but she's getting better, she is also such an Underrated Lead Vocalist very powerful, she is also the tomboy of the Group! Momo is the one who you found had a very Unique voice which she does not that many people like it but it is Amazing she is also considered as the Dancing Mochine because that girl can dance! Sana is the Gayest Member in Twice like No joke she is nicknamed Sanake because she switches her Ships sometimes, but also she was the one in Candy Pop with the pink hair not that hard to miss she also is a great Vocalist and an underrated Rapper! Jihyo is just Underrated overall her nickname is God Jihyo for a reason her Vocals are AMAZING and she trained for a very long time you also said she was Gorgeous! Mina is the Queen she is just so Elegant with everything she does talking, singing, dancing, walking just everything about her is amazing and don't get me started with her in a suit! Dahyun is one of the Rappers she is just Phenomenal and CRAZY she can legit find EVERY camera it is weird and cool at the same time and her beauty is very underrated! Chaeyoung is the LGBT Queen just Wow, she can also legit do anything she is an Ace is K - Pop she is the other Rapper, she can legit Sing, Dance, Rap, write Poetry, Draw, write Songs etc! Tzuyu (Chewie) is the Evil Maknae she is so Savage and so Gorgeous at the same time it's crazy she is the visual in the Group but she wanted to be known for her skills instead! OMG! Twice is my ultimate 3rd generation girl group. I can guarantee that all of their Japanese releases are GOD TIER. Their Korean Discography is a bop but their Japanese Discography is on a different level! Their bsides are also great and unfortunately underrated. :(((

I think it is safe to say TWICE revived the hallyu wave in Japan with TT. They were and are still the biggest 3rd gen Korean girl group to date. Most of their Japanese bubble gum pop discographies topped the bb japan hot 100 for 4 straight years. Both their Korean and Japanese discography evolved at the same time but they've become more bold and experimental with their Japanese ones recently. I'd say their 2019-2021 Japanese releases are flawless. I am certain you would love them!

Some facts you might want to know. Even before officially debuting in Japan they had achieved success with 'TT' which came to have a Japanese version which opened the eyes of the Japanese and the doors of the second largest music market in the world for them. TWICE's biggest digital hit in Japan is Candy Pop. TWICE's biggest selling single in Japan is Wake Me Up. They have evolved tremendously in terms of vocals (which is clear through their recent titles) but I recommend the 10th full album "Perfect World" to feel the clear change and improvement of the members.🥰

Twice are really popular in Japan because of their concept being "healthy" and "positive" but also because of their 3 Japanese members (Momo, Sana, Mina). Although their original concept was for young girls around these days they aimed for a global audience by having typical concepts and music that aimed at different types of Japanese audience. You can see that these were all made in the same year 😅

Brand new girl is my favorite and you were right the song is not about a relationship really. It's about the girls being friends and moving on to a new place\or a new life and realizing your friends will always be with you. The verses talk about how the girls have each other's selfies in their cell phone and even if they move away or into something new they will never stop being friends. The end of the chorus even says in English "goodbyes are not forever my friends" so friendship memories and how friendship last forever. Love the song a ton. Can't wait to see your reactions to the newer Japanese tracks as well. And yeah I think Japanese twice tracks are some of the best in their entire discography no doubt.

TWICE's japanese songs really dangerous for reaction because of their copyright(warner's) but so many good songs. (hope this one is OK. fingers crossed here.) for these tone, you might like 'happy happy', 'better', 'fanfare'. but for mature sound of them lately, you might like 'kura kura' and 'perfect world'.('perfect world' album is so good.) (oh! also 'breakthrough', 'fake&true' too.) as when JYP did 'switch to me' with RAIN, he said he love MV with high budget. :D (and 'BDZ' and 'candy pop' MV., really JYP style in term of always with humor) (and thanks to them, their lately japanese MV have 'closed caption') have a good day. :)

I'd like to see you do a quick guide before doing more videos just cause I think it'd help you enjoy them even more knowing a bit about them, but I'm really glad you decided to do Twice's Japanese releases. They're so good and there's so much quality music that people miss out on. They definitely mature like they did in Korea, but it's still absolutely worth hearing everything. 2021 had a lot of great Japanese releases from them. Just be careful on copyright. They were notorious about taking things down but it's gotten a little more lax lately from what I've noticed in 2021 reactions.
