Twice Japanese releases are so good, especially the most recent ones (Better, Kura Kura, Perfect World). Their B sides are also surprisingly good. Fair warning if you are going to dive into this group, they produce SO MUCH CONTENT it's very hard not to stan 😆

I loved it. Many ppl apparently don't, but for me this is much better than all the other recent English releases. Monsta X is the only group I think has the best English songs, but for Twice's 1st English song it was a bop! FYI, we have the same bias. She's on hiatus for this comeback. Luckily, she's still in the mv. The other girl you liked is Chaeyoung (short blonde hair).

I would love to see you do a Twice marathon at some point! I'm sure you'd fall in love with Jeongyeon even more. She's such a great and underrated vocalist. Fun fact, she was accepted to JYP and SM on the same day, but ended up choosing JYP. This is a random siderant but sometimes I wish she chose SM. She has such a beautiful and unique voice and JYP absolutely does not care about vocal coaching.. Jeongyeon could have been even better than she already is if the company wasn't so stubborn

Yeah, you nailed it with Chaeyoung's tongue movement. For the Korean syllable-ending ㄴ (n) the tongue is pushed firmly up against the teeth, sometimes poking through the teeth, and with the syllable-ending ㅅ (t) it is even more so, often to the point of almost biting the tongue (which might be done cutely if emphasising aegyo). It isn't really a thing about how much English they speak though, because Nayeon actually speaks pretty good English but has similar mouth positions, it is more that they are pronouncing it through a modified Korean phonology. You can notice that Momo, Mina, Sana and Tzuyu don't have that tongue movement because -n and -t are articulated differently (or not at all) in Mandarin and Japanese. Jihyo also doesn't do it much when singing, but I assume that is more to do with the technical focus, since she does do it when speaking. It might have something to do with the nasalisation, as Nayeon, Dahyun and Chaeyoung all tend to nasalise their vowels (especially when speaking english) more than Jihyo and Jeongyeon do. Just a casual linguistics observation lol

5:36 In regards to her sticking out her tongue as you mentioned. You’re right in the fact that it has to do with her not being an English speaker In Korean we pronounce the N sound by sticking our tongue out slightly, native English speakers do not do this, and keep the tongue inside the mouth. It creates a slightly softer sound which is how the sound is pronounced in Korean. So her sticking her tongue out when making those N sounds on “attraction” and “connection” are because of habit most likely Really cool that you pointed it out, I think many people wouldn’t notice this

Regarding the numbers on their outfits, the meaning is the following (chosen by them) Nayeon, #9: is her birth month 9 (September) and the number of members in Twice (9) Jeongyeon, #0: she doesn't have a favorite number and at the same time it's like she chooses all her classmates Momo, #64: her dad's player number (she played American football) Sana, #12: the month of her birth (December) Jihyo, #21: month+day of birth (2/1) Mina, #37: In Japanese, the number 3 is pronounced misan (三) and 7 is nana (七), so 37 means "mina" if you take the first two letters of the word. This number could also have been taken by Sana if she had chosen the last letters of 3, but she decided to leave it to Mina. Im pretty sure the back vocals were Jihyo, im like 99% sure for the first one, but her and Nayeon often swap between within a song. Twice and EXO are my ult groups, Ive been here since your 1st Exo video and i'll bet im one of the first guys who followed you on twitter (sorry i dont interact much and i mainly check my socials during my break and/or on my way home), anyway i must've missed that twice was the one that got you into KPOP and TT is your Kpop fave is another surprise to me 😊 I studied korean for a bit a while back and one of the things i noticed along the way is a lot of their sound does sound like english sounds but are fundamentally different on they articulate them. 5:30 Chaeyoung's line had a lot of english N sounds and i think shes pronoucing the korean N's instead, putting her tongue out more. Same reason why sometimes their N's sound like english D's and their korean M's as english B's. Im not a vocal coach lol not even a singer but i find breakdowns or anything technical really interesting! So its nice and interesting to hear such from professional :)) Pls do check their discography more! But maybe after you do your Ult group, EXO first! 😅😝. Prior to twice/kpop, i listen to nearly a lot of genres but i mainly came from hip hop/metal/ punk rock/american pop. Never did i imagine that i would listen and eventually love bubble gum pop! Initially i thought theyre too "girly" or "childish", ashamed yes, but now proud to say that i broke that stigma and branch out to another genre! Ive listened to a lot of kpop discographics (not including solos), and among my favorites are Twice, Exo, RV, MAMAMOO, DAY6, SEVENTEEN. Twice sound is often mistaken as bubblegum pop but is actually more accurate and appropriate to label it as just "Pop" or Girl Pop! Their discography develops and matures overtime whilst maintaining their sound. They show you girl pop is not JUST bubblegum! Thats the best way to describe their discography imo. Even if their sound is not your cup of tea, theyre are still deceptively and surprisingly good! I hope you get the chance and time to check them out more! 5:22 Chaeyoung is your 2nd favorite and hands down she slaps on all the bsides! You will love her i bet. PS. Sorry for the wall of text. This is why i dont try to interact much when i have the time. I get a little too passionate and write a whole ass essay and i still have a lot to say more! 😅

Twice japanese releases are the same but completely different than their korean ones. Also twice post so much content that it's almost hard to catch up. Also the one you said that doesn't speak much english, Mina. She's actually born in texas. But like you said that she doesn't really speak that much english since she moved to japan after. But when she speaks english, It's like listening to a native english speaker. Hello Sir Austin, please react to Twice's Cry For Me. It is a sequel song to I Can't Stop Me. It doesn't have an MV but it does have an original audio video for. Also, they performed it in one of South Korea's major kpop award event. :) On my opinion, it has better vocals that I Can't Stop Me and it has less crying (wailing?) on the ending chorus.
