Tyler is 33, hes not that old, the rap game is just in a bad state. Back when Tyler came up in the 2010’s blog era, music at that time felt authentic and real and they had legit real stars like Tyler, Odd Future Asap Rocky/Asap Mob, Joey badass, mac miller, kendrick, jcole, drake, big sean, wiz khalifa, nipsey hussle, meek mill, travis scott, action bronson, Future, big krit, wale so Its crazy that Tyler is considered old when hes like 33.
@Andrew.W.194 ай бұрын
That’s old to the fans Tyler is talking about (TikTok/Social media rap). In my 30s I was saying the same thing about Mumble rap and rappers like Lil Pump, I was called an “old head”. 7 years later same thing with Tyler in his 30s. “Old head” is just wiser and maturer. Natural progression.
@DiorNicole4 ай бұрын
Went right over your head. Old isn't talking about actual age. Old as in been in the game for enough time to feel the shift in hip hop. The newer seasoned artist are now articulating what the OG artist was saying a decade ago.

While I think the way Tyler goes about driving his statement is wrong, his point is 100% on the dot. We are definitely living in an age where the artistic craft of creating music in hip hop is now overlooked. The industry has doubled down on trend chasers and content creators that just want the bag instead of putting attention to detail. With Ian being a great example of this. While I’m sure the dude has no ill will to using the styles of Gucci Mane, Playboi Carti, and Future, his music is just…bad. Production, singing, lyrics, and song structure is all terrible. And it’s so bad that the music industry just accepts that trash than a Denzel curry or a Jpegmafia. We see this with 4bat and Ice Spice. If their heart is not with the art, then what point is there to keep them around? Their careers will come and go.
