She spent time with spanish people in Florida. She was also sent to Spain as a teen to live with extended family after she went to rehab for alcohol. This is what Ive seen in some interviews.

lana got crucified by the media for ultraviolence , they said she "glamorized" abuse, when imo an abuse victim can tell their story however they may need to, its her experience and it does a good job at emphasizing how an victim feels in the cycle of abuse. i know im glad she made this song and album bc i can relate personally and it makes me feel less alone in this experience, which is what art and music should do. lana uses the name jim to refer to many things throughout her discography for ex: a general reference to any of her exes, jim beam the alcohol brand, jim morrison (rock singer), jim jones (cult leader), etc. Shades of cool is my #1 offf this album. the meaning, the vocals, and the guitar bridge is PERFECTION. when she got sent to boarding school it was in spain so she learnt spanish while livin there. no i fr say the same thing ab lana creating her own genre, bc she blendsss genres together in all her music. pretty when you cry was freestyled and done in one take!!! amazing song, i love the guitar bridge in this one as well. i think it's interesting, a lot of abusers tell u ur "pretty when u cry" after they r the ones that made u cry, another display of the cycle of abuse and how it continues. money power glory is supposed to be satire, the media came after lana saying she was a bit of a gold digger so in this song she kinda just leans into that portrayal. fucked my way up to the top is also satire, she was criticized by ppl saying she slept w ppl to get famous, which didn't happen. and also she makes a dig at Lorde after Lorde came for her, "mimicking me is a fuckin bore, to me" was meant for Lorde. the other woman, is a cover, original by nina simone. florida kilos is one of my favs as well, her talking ab coke in such a poetic way is so funny to me; "white lines pretty daddy go skiing, u snort it like a champ like the winter were not in" fire lolll. cant wait 4 moreee

the song ultraviolence is about jim beam the alcohol drink, lana has came out and said it because when the song came out Lana got a lot of backlash because a lot of people thought she was promoting domestic violence. lana talks a lot about her past struggles with alcohol and drugs in her songs and even in interviews .

Shes from upstate new york and she spent her early adult life in new jersey, new york city and Miami florida and basically all over the east coast

She knows Spanish because she was sent to an institute in Spain for being addicted to alcohol, and she surrounded herself a lot with Cubans and Colombians.

Half of these songs specifically Ultraviolence are not about her relationships at all ! They have a deeper meaning. Jim is not a person it’s her way of describing drug abuse.

You accidentally skipped the "deluxe" born to die. It's a mini album called Paradise. Also for Brooklyn baby she was meant to have the infamous Lou Reed but he passed hours before he was set to get on the plane. Also this journey will open up new worlds with each album. You are just barely scratching the surface on her talent!❤
