Another awesome video! The members have all said how long they take to get ready in interviews before. The guitarist in the shorts, Teru, has said he only takes 20 minutes sometimes! They also get their costumes from a specific designer who they commission to make their outfits. Teru is also an accomplished visual artist and designer, and hes designed some of their logos, stage sets, and costumes before. Versailles is such a cool band!

I wonder what you would think of Sound Horizon. All of their cd's are one big story and for the live concerts they dress up as the characters and it turns into kind of a musical. Also Revo (the leader of Sound Horizon) also heads the band Linked Horizon that was responsible for the opens to Attack on Titan and the full soundtrack for Bravely Default among other things.

Versailles is one of my favorites!!! You are right that they put on an intense live show. I had the pleasure of seeing them live in New York City a few years ago. I've been to alot of VK shows, and theirs was definitely one of the best. It was in a relatively small venue; they played with the same energy they would if they were in a stadium, yet Kamijo worked the audience with an intimacy that you couldn't really get in a larger venue. Quite a unique experience. (A little piece of trivia: Before he started his first band, called "Lareine", vocalist Kamijo was a roadie for Malice Mizer) What is particularly interesting is how intensely focused they are when they play. Hizaki, in particular, has an expression on his face like, to him, there is nothing else going on in the world. It's like watching a martial artist train for an epic battle. Now, on a related note, if you like Versailles, you really need to check out Jupiter. It is composed of most of the same members as Versailles, but with a different vocalist. Maybe start with their song "Arcadia". You won't be disappointed.

Im glad you're doinh versailles!! The band was from 2007, but the vocalist Kamijo has been around since 1994 (his former group named Lareine has disbanded), and guess what, unlike most of the senior VK musician that has tendency to tone down along with age, he's been mantaining that theatrical costume, hairdo, make up, even stage performance until today. I think that loyalty alone is scary!!

U asked what their lyrics are about. Well, from a hardcore versailles fan, I can safely say that their subject matter always deals with mythical objects and paradoxical stuff like vampires, the legend of the rose and some such. And there's always this lyric 'garasu zaiku' in every song, which means "pieces of shattered glass". Kamijo really seems to like the idea of shattered glass. As to how they dress up, I've read in an interview that each member takes about two hours average to shower and dress up with the exception of Teru, the white guitarist, who does it in about half an hour. Thanks for this exceptional video. If U liked this one, U'll find a whole new world of visual Kei bands that will also fit your liking.

Yes!. Their live shows are AMAZING!. Several years ago, I attended one of their concerts and got to meet them ❤. Kamijo was staring at me (and all the girls, of course), trying to seduce me while signing his picture for me. Hizaki said "Hola" (I live in a Spanish speaking country) and I said "Konnichiwa" at the same time. We started laughing because both of us wanted to make the other one feel at home. He also signed his picture and we shaked hands. I had a short but lovely story with all of them ❤. Oh, damn... It was an amazing day. You, person reading this, if you like Versailles and you ever have the chance to see them live, GO. You won't regret it.

Versailles is French it is a building in a the south-west part of Paris and was built for king Louis XVI. They normally depict his era of the French revolution in their clothes. Oh and the way you pronounce their name is 'versigh' so the lles is basically silent I hoped this helped

Also Taji from X Japan also Died in 2011. Which is also very sad he was a amazing musican just like Hide the first to die back in 1998 after their disbanded.

Taji left X Japan 1992 before they disbanded and was replaced by Heath. Also 2011 when they're reunited Sugizo from Luna Sea more or Less replaced Hide. Luna sea is another amazing Vkei band you should check out :) Other Vkei early band signed by Yoshiki (X Japan Band leader) record company.

In regards to their lyrics most of them are beautiful and about roses and vampires and such, they're really quite gorgeous. Their costumes are usually custom commissioned, I at one point knew the place they went to for it but I have forgotten at the current moment. They're super expensive though haha. I got to meet them all in person a month before Jasmine You died. They were all so nice, especially Jasmine. I'll never forget how kind he was. At the time I was really struggling with my personal confidence, and he said he was really jealous of my eyes and said I was pretty, so those words really stuck with me. One time the lead singers outfit got ruined. There was a fan at the concert that makes clothing that's similar to the Versailles. And that day the fan was wearing something they had made. And they ended up giving their outfit to the lead singer to wear. side note- In Japan at some v-kei concerts, some fans (very few) will wear the same clothing as the band members.

I assume somebody already pointed it out, but just in case, the word Versailles originates from French and it is the most famous French castle in fact. So the pronunciation is French of course. Generally Japanese bands are fond of using French or German words or combinations as their band names.

hi again! I Don't know if someone told you about this, so i will make an effort with my english to help. Versailles has is how history about a grup of beens that live on the shadows, they are The descendents of the Rose and they are vampires, so their songs talk about love, dead and proud, those kind of Things. you have to listen the song "the revenant choir" it is the first single of the band and also the beginning of the history, and then you will have songs like Ascendead master, the red carpeta day, etc. You can also find the translations on Internet! Good luck and continue listening to Visual Kei bands, some of them are incredibles!
