Dimash is a genius! A great storyteller and paradigm breaker! Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality... Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is: A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures. Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing... The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details. As background music, he uses the work “Flower Duet” (Lakimé) by Léo Delibes. To create an old and suspenseful atmosphere, he does not use the 1968 edition and recording, by Joan Sutherland and Jane Berbié, but rather the original version from 1915, sung by Alexandrovna Mikhailova and Ivanovna Panina, recorded with a gramophone! The music video is a story that pays homage to several classic dramas involving supernatural creatures and passion! The impeccable editing with precise cuts that complete the script, simple and extremely efficient effects and masterful performances: Dimash (the seductive and tormented vampire, Polina Guzieva (the passionate journalist), Manuel de Jesús Sánchez Sotolongo (the sinister butler) and the harem of soulless vampires (Angelin Sapozhnikova, Valeriya Lyasheva, Andreana Tkachenko, Maria Aristatarkhova, Lilia Kiser and Klinnyushina Alina), superb! The music is a show in itself: a mix of Blue, Scat, Jazz, R&B, Rock... Captivating variations: a bridge to the chorus full of strength and seduction and a beautiful chorus inspired by classic rock and dexterity and Dimash's agility! In addition to the well-placed guitar solo performed by Abik Jeksen! The video captures and captivates from the beginning to the sign, which we let pass while still mesmerized by the “spell” of the vampire who can break the fourth wall! Dimash has LOTS of songs in English. You need to check them out when you get a chance: “Across Endless Dimensions”, “Screaming”, “Be With Me,” “Golden”, “Couldn’t Leave,” “Together” “Give Me Your Love”, “The Story of One Sky” . . . And more. . . He is wonderful in all languages and genres!

I'm surprised you are shocked that he's singing in English. He has done a lot of songs in English - Stranger, Golden, If I Never Breathe Again, Be With Me, to name a few. If you haven't seen these, I highly recommend them. He has another new mv coming out on 28th April called Smoke, again in English. Thanks very much 😊🙏💞

Zeman from Brazil goes in depth with his comments which indicated considerable research. An interesting take on why he did this is to pay homage to Michael Jackson's iconic horror genre in the video Thriller. In addition I got Interview with a Vampire vibes from the movie. And very subtle is the butler akin to Lurch in the Adams Family TV show snapping the fingers. In many ways campy and a parody, but us Dears cannot get the lyrics out of our head. Dimash never ceases to amaze me. Thank you for your review... always refreshing.

The duet in the intro and outro is from a really old recording (1915) of 'The Flower Duet' from Delibes' opera 'Lakme'. An immortal vampire would probably have been around to get it when it was first issued.

It wasn’t a dream! It’s largely based on ‘Interview With a Vampire’ (A. Rice), film with Brad Pitt). Lots of other references to other elements: Shiva, The Portrait of Dorian Grey, MJ, etc.
