Doesn't matter how young Booker is. He's old enough to have shown what he is when it counts, and that's apparently the dude sitting quiet on the bench with his arms folded. You cannot teach being a champion. Now that doesn't mean he couldn't be very useful on a team LED by a driven champion, but he will never be THAT guy.

How can you come to that conclusion though when just a year ago he dropped 40 back to back in the Finals when the Suns only needed to win those 2 games to win the chip. In that Finals series, the Suns had a + 6.3 net rating whenever Book was on the court. When he was off the court, the Suns had a -38.0 net rating. He clearly did his job to win a chip. If anything the reason they lost that series because of CP3 choking and Saric tearing his ACL game 1 leaving them without a backup big man(and the Suns got absolutely slaughtered on boards and paint defense whenever Ayton rested).

Suns fan here. I was seriously disappointed in the team during that game. During the series against the Pelicans I began to question their legitimacy because NOP we’re giving them trouble. I had hoped that the Suns would beat the Mavs & I’d be okay if GSW beat the Suns because GS was a tough team to beat. My main nitpick was how coach Monty directed the team during the playoffs but who am i to judge? There were rumors about multiple Suns players with COVID playing during the PHX-DAL series. It may only been rumors but to me it just seems like they’re making excuses. Yeah that game 7 was atrocious.

I'm not gonna say Book didn't choke in this Mavs game 7. But it's kinda ridiculous to call him a choker already just because of that 1 game. Especially when just last year, Book broke the record for points in a players first playoffs and had multiple great playoff performances including dropping 40 points in back to back in games 4-5 of the Finals against the Bucks, while the Suns lost mostly because CP3 not playing up to his usual standards. If CP3 just played at least decent in those 2 games, the Suns win that series 4-1 and take home the championship. They barely lost those 2 games by a couple of shots. So blaming Book for losing that series is just dumb. And even in the Mavs game 7, CP3 had been missing for 5 games straight. CP3's whole job is to be a playmaker.... but he simply wasn't playmaking, which forced Book to play iso ball straight into double teams. And Book's never been a great iso player, that's not one of his strengths. He's been hit or miss at best in iso play his whole career. He's a true shooting guard, best playing off the ball with his point guard setting up plays and feeding him the ball when he's already in his favorite spots on the court. So I can't really be too hard on Book or the rest of the team for the game. All season the Suns relied on good ball movement. When CP3 stopped moving the ball that was a big problem, and coach Monty refused to adjust his gameplan to counteract it. It is what it is, CP3 just can't handle teams full court pressing him every game in the playoffs. He eventually gets tired and fades. If the Suns end up getting KD and have that big time iso threat, that would be huge to take some reliance off CP3's passing. But if they don't get KD, the Suns will have their playoff struggles until they replace CP3.

@@lukadoncic8528 Idk, not too long. I type pretty fast and its something I've already thought about plenty of times before as a Suns fan lol. I'm not gonna give up on Book already, he's not perfect but he's only been in 2 playoffs so far and he did great in the first one, did OK in the 2nd one until the last game. Respect to Luka though, the Suns messed up by not drafting him. At least Ayton is a good player, we didn't mess up as bad as the Kings taking Bagley. But Luka has definitely proven he's the guy we should have taken. Him and Book playing together would have been insane. Hindsight is 20/20 though. Dragan Bender being such a huge bust for us probably made us hesitant to roll the dice on another Euro player with our only #1 pick ever lol. But that's how the draft goes, you never truly know how good a player will be until you have them.
