you never had those teachers that would always get off topic and start rambling about their husbands or their kids? 😂 my english teacher used to proudly show us photos of his wife + newborn baby because the whole class loved + respected him (he was a really great teacher!) 😁 sexual preferences have *always* been a thing, you just never think twice about it. if your teacher ever mentioned their husband or wife, then by default you could assume their sexual preference, you know? if a male teacher referred to a partner as “she”, you could assume he was most likely straight, whereas if he said “he”, you could assume he was most likely gay (i say most likely as of course they could be bisexual). if you think it’s any different, then i think your real problem is with people being gay, not with kids knowing the sexuality of their teachers? i also had a few teachers who didn’t like being called miss/sir, and always told us to call them by their first names, but more often than not we’d end up accidentally calling them miss/sir anyway, as it was so ingrained in us haha!

I had someone tell me they forgot I’ve actually had hardship in my life when a traumatic event I went through was brought up in conversation. It was really irritating to me because just because I don’t tell everyone all the bad things I’ve been through, doesn’t mean I didn’t go through bad things. They were the type of person who was always telling everyone their pity stories, so since I wasn’t doing the same, “obviously” I skipped happily through the fields of life. Also been told I’m privileged because I’m a stay at home mom with 6 kids. They assume my husband must be rich and make over 100k. No. I budget. I shop sales. I don’t buy things on a whim. It takes effort to make this work. And when they ask me what I do to make it work, no one is willing to do it because it requires discipline, effort, and personal accountability.

I was so surprised when the person wearing animal makeup revealed themselves as a Blaire White supporter. I was raised to believe you can't judge a book by its cover, but lately the opposite has seemed to become the case with the crazy far left. It's like they do certain things with their hair & makeup & piercings & clothes in order to make themselves instantly recognizeable as crazy ideologues. I saw that person & immediately assumed I knew what their beliefs were. But then they made an Ass out of U & Me...

Pattern recognition is useful to make fairly accurate (on average) flash judgements, and it serves us well most of the time. Sometimes an individual doesn't fit the mold, and catches us off guard, and we need to be willing to surrender that faulty flash judgement when it's proven to be incorrect, without dismissing our mind's marvelously useful pattern recognition as a whole. It tells us to be cautious and observe. If you are a legitimate bigot, and hang on to the initial judgement despite all evidence to the contrary, it's no longer useful, but a hinderance.

I was raised in that age. Miss meant not married ms meant could be or not. In a way I kind of miss the days only because it has some kind of respect as a title. Let me explain. When you go to see doctors now they call you by your first name but yet we do not call them by their first name. It used to be you would be called by mr or misses or mrs and last name (that part doesnt matter to me) but now your just called by your first name as if you are a lower species and dont deserve a formal title.
@We.do.not.scissor11 ай бұрын
Everyone understands that concept. They actually don't have to announce they're married, it is implied with their preferred title. Mrs. preferred typically by women who don't change their last name as Mrs. comes from mistress. Mrs. Smith is shortened from Mrs. John Smith. Ms. can be used by any woman regardless of marital status. Teacher obviously have talked about their family and have their spouses in their lives a lot. I've heard a lot of my teachers' romantic life and seen their spouses. That's just fine. Never did I have a teacher announce they were married, so we need to refer to them as Mrs. It's never done that way or ends there.

I'm a social studies teacher. Never tell students anything about my personal life unless they really bug me on it. And even then, I tell them the littlest they need to know. Too many things are in the curriculum to be taught that leaves no time to be in front of the class telling them about my personal self. They remind me of Mr. Garrison from South Park. Also, I don't recall ever knowing the first name of any of my teachers and i was born the same year it was. Also never knew any of their sexualities except when they were married to another teacher.

Now if you search on “transition regrets” many many more stories are available. Really hoping this fad starts to die down so the rare few who suffer with this condition can be given the dignity they need.
@Maniacman20302 жыл бұрын
Those stories need to exist, for better or worse. Kids being pushed into the Gender Lunacy need to see what happens when you're unsure of who you are and blindly trust someone else to tell you something. What happens is that they'll groom you to be whoever THEY want you to be. It's like an abusive relationship.

What gets me is a lot of people are so ok with assigning certain behaviours as being gendered. Girls can like muddy puddles, playing soldiers and play wrestling and boys can like flowers, wearing pink and Barbies without needing to be sexually reassigned.
@Aumirae2 жыл бұрын
Exactly it’s so backwards and sexist. Girls can like “guy things” and guys can like “girl things.” It absolutely does not mean that they have to be trans or even gay. I was definitely some sort of tomboy (mostly bc I had internalized misogyny) growing up but I’m definitely not trans, and am also not gay either. I’m a cis woman who’s straight. I just liked soccer, climbing trees, video games, playing with building blocks, and had internalized misogyny bc of my trauma growing up. I still definitely feel androgynous bc I always feel like I relate to guys more so than girls (mostly bc girls can be very dramatic and guys are more chill), but I am much more comfortable in my femininity now. I think it’s so sexist how the trans “community” wants to claim all tomboys as trans and all feminine boys as trans. At the very most maybe they’re gay. But none of that is for sure. Just let the boy play with the damn Barbie. My little brother (now 15) used to play with my Barbies and dress up in my princess dresses when we were really young. At my 6th birthday party (it was princess themed) he wore my princess heels after everyone left and we all had a laugh. It’s not bc he was trans or gay, he just had an older sister and he wanted to be like me. He was modeling the things I did bc that’s what younger siblings do.
@3nn3d62 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY. I see so many girls now getting reassigned as boys just because they wanna play football or some sh. I tend to come off as very masculine at times to other people, but even I know for a fact that I'm a girl💀
