Massive respect to Blundell, everyone in the community loves him, myself included. His genius definitely brought about the peak of zombies but we know BO4 failed and zombies is now the most bland it has ever been. If Blundell let BO4 be about finishing the Aether story they would not of been so spread thin and could have had more time to really perfect the game, making it a better BO3. Then COD 2020 could have seen Blundell focus on his passion with the Chaos storyline. Instead apart of why we are where we are at is because Blundell didn't pace himself, he Frankensteined what he wanted and what the community deserved into one game instead of having the foresight to separate them and let them both breath

That Gorod take is crazy. That map has easily the second best design in all of BO3 behind SoE, a dope WW that’s gameplay consists of more than just pressing one button and killing everything, a great miniboss in the Mangler, an incredible setting and atmosphere, the best shield in zombies, the best boss fight in zombies, one of the coolest specialists, and a core gameplay loop that resembles classic zombies.

Gotta say, was on the BO4 is bad bandwagon for a long time and it was definitely your channel that changed my mind. That and your Most Accurate series has become a huge motivator to finally complete the EE storyline solo, I'm up to GK now and then revelations, a map I was so disappointed with I straight up have not touched it to this day. Thank you Joltz for your motivating, concise, and instructional content.

Incase you make another hot takes video here’s mine: Talismans in BO4 are one of the most interesting and creative mechanics ever introduced into zombies. You can play BO4 your whole life without using them once and it won’t affect your experience. they last your entire game and their abilities are determined by their rarity and I don’t think they get talked about enough.

@@_a.a_5557 That's the point, you don't have to use them and your experience with the game will be the same, their purely there if you want to use them, and some of the higher rarity talismans actually give you very useful buffs that can make easter egg runs just that much easier.

I think the one comment about Blundell is talking about how he did great things for zombies but how he handled b04 was awful and zombies now has a permanent stain on it and funding for the mode has been permanently shot down + half the community left lol, also jimmy just had way more innovative ideas to the map designing and was ahead of his time for old Gen hardware while Jason just kinda stuck to what worked until chaos and we all know how that went. Yes Blundell was a fucking genius and literally saved zombies in black ops 2 and has made some of the greatest maps he also wasn't perfect and once again ruined zombies with black ops 4.

Bo4 was my first zombies game and I have loved it ever since launch. Another hot take, ancient evil is the best zombies map ever! The gauntlers are the best of all quadriple wonder weapons because they are the coolest and the best balanced. The Easter egg was great, I also love the EE song. The setup is good and it introduced the challenge system which is really good. And I’m not even gonna start about atmosphere and lore, it’s just great!

Yeah maybe "far down in the all time rankings" is a bit steep for GK, but honestly I dont really have fun playing it. Beating the EE with the op gums feels cheap and easy, but doing the EE with normal gums feels like the biggest chore ever. Its got a great wonder weapon but the manglers are annoying, valkyries are annoying, dragon can be really annoying, its things like that that add up and make it my least favourite bo3 map

Here is a huge hot take, which I will most likely be targeted for: Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies in underrated as all hell. Meanwhile it has a different system and the EEs there are hardcore af, Zombies in BO4 are actually fun. The only reason that Cold War Zombies and Vanguard Zombies EE's are easy as shit, is because the community could not handle the hardcore Easter Eggs Black Ops 4 has thrown at them. Meanwhile yes, hardcore easter eggs can be frustrating to do most of the time, it does not mean that everyone who did not get IX, Voyage, Blood etc. on the first try should jump on a Hate-BO4-Bandwagon. And another one: Forsaken is only so easy and Der Anfang is only so shit because of time restraints Treyarch had, cuz they had to work on multiple things at once.

The story didn’t die at origins but the story TELLING took a dive for sure. In my opinion back in bo1 when you would look at the tiny Easter eggs and details in the maps would tell the story. The community would make the story theorizing off little things around the map back when the story was more grounded in reality. Where Richthofen sold his soul to the Illuminati for some reason and how the Germans started the zombies project from element 115 to figure out how to win the war etc. instead of some mystical beings projectile vomiting something on to earth yada yada corruption war bs idk some confusing shit here and there souls cycles multiverse. I enjoyed the story until they dropped that poster that explained everything we theorized as a community. It took the mystique away. I miss questioning when all they gave is generic answers. But even with all those flaws I enjoyed bo3 and bo4 story wise, but I fucking hate cws story.

Hot takes: bo4 was far better than bo3 It has two of the most well designed maps, IX and ancient evil, has some very enjoyable chaos ee like the voyage one that is one of the best in terms of interactivity and playability, has a very beautiful ending for the storyline of victis and prims and even the revisit of some map that were kinda useless like nuketown The problem with bo4 was that they made a lot of change and the community maybe wasn't ready for all these change together

Missed a chance to share a hot take so I’ll share it here, after completing every BO4 Easter egg (except classified) I think Voyage of Despair is the best one easily. I’m a Voyage apologist.

Denezins are not comparable to ninja zombies one bit. One makes the entire map unplayable and will most likely either instantly red screen you from 5ft away then teleport right next to you for an instant deletion or even worse launch you out of the map while another can be easily avoided and dealt with by using galvaknuckles which you're probably gonna pick up anyways. People act like tranzit is this completely unplayable mess of a map yet theres quite a large chunk of the community that actually does enjoy tranzit despite the very loud and obnoxious hate bandwagon group still stuck in 2012 with their skill issue. If people actually understood how the turbine worked instead of crying that the same turbine theyve been holding on since round 1 didn't hold the PAP door open long enough then there would be a lot less tranzit hate because right now people just hate it because theyve been doing it wrong for years thanks to the zombies youtubers of the time not knowing how the turbine worked either instead just thinking its random

It's only seen as terrible because people are uninformed. Placing the turbine next to the 74U is not a workaround, it's being aware that the turbine has a large enough AOE to do so We all say that denezins shouldn't exist and that they only exist due to the technical limitations of the systems HOWEVER let's look at a scenario where denezins didn't exist. Now you're able to have all this open area to train literally anywhere with the added bonus of carpenters being removed from the drop cycle with absolutely zero negative effects. Tranzit is still a fun map if you know how to play it but most just don't know and are not willing to put the time in to learn it.

Yeah no lol, blood is a cool map but it's just not as good as mob, blood lacks personality, high-round Strat is boring, zero training spots, and a miserable EE, also the aesthetics of mob are unbeatable and afterlife was awesome.
