Comparators can both compare signal powers (redstone dust strength) AND subtract them, they can get signals based on the amount of items in a container, if certain components are powered (for example the new copper bulb) and do all of this in a 2 tick delay. More info can be found on the wiki.

I am not sure where your number 1/64 is coming from. The probability for that sequence is 1/4096. Because these are independent events using the formula P(A and B) = P(A) * P(B), and we know P(A) = P(B) = 1/4096, we get the probability of both events occurring being 1/4^6.

@@kratosmystro8804 yeah, I could have done the huge "computer" in small parts but then it would have been a lot slower than it is now. So I went for speed rather than 100% realism. A "real" network of computers in minecraft would require a modded server which runs redstone A LOT faster than vanilla.

14:02 Yea pretty sure that is a 0 tick color sorter. Basically, the id of different color blocks is different, and you somehow trick the game into having a push from a piston be ordered on a block, but before it actually goes through you remove the block and place the one you want to sort in. So if say you want to sort out all red concrete powder blocks, you'll have a red block to compare with, issue an order to push it, and then retract it before that order gets processed, and place the one you want to check in its place. If it was another red block, since their IDs are the same, it gets pushed out in the same tick. However, if it was a yellow block, it would have a different ID, rendering that original order useless, and it'll issue another order to get rid of the yellow one

I always wondered how long it’d be until someone made a network of redstone computers. Though if you wanted to do send data between computers of a meaningful power over a useful distance you’d probably need that mod that makes redstone 10,000x faster to have a chance of seeing it complete within your lifetime

The cool thing is that it dosn't get slower the more entries you add. So it doesn't matter how many computers are connected to the network. The speed stays the same :)
